I am disabled and I use a handicapped parking spot when I go to the gym to use a machine to try and regain some of the strength in my legs. I have to use a walker now and most likely will the rest of my life.

We all need to be less quick to judge the extent of another persons disability.

  2. My late husband and I cruised quite a bit and also spent a lot of time in Europe.

After his death in May 2012, the first cruise I took was in Dec 2012 to put his ashes in the Caribbean Sea from the deck of a ship as he had requested. That sailing, as you can imagine, was a difficult one.

Since then, I cruise once or twice a year alone. I still think about him every time I step onboard a ship, but being on the water has always given me a sense of peace/tranquility.

Only you will know when the time is right for you to try cruising solo. I hope that time will be sooner rather than later, but that is for you to decide.

I am very sorry for your loss...

  3. There was a Reverend who posted on this board fairly often and was an avid cruiser. He may have been a Priest. His screen name may have been Reverend Neal??

What happened to him? He has not posted in a very long time. Did he start cruising on another line?

No reason for asking other than being curious........

  4. I take 25mg of meclizine (Bonine) daily while I am on a ship and continue it for about 2 days after disembarking. Works great for me! I take it at bedtime.........Your pharmacist can get you the generic meclizine and it is much cheaper that the brand name Bonine. Plus, doesn't make you sleepy like Dramamine can.
