Not starting any wars..Maybe it was more than 8yrs ago..Just stating the facts. Did not carry it onboard and got caught. At that time , their disclaimer was not as it states now..

I have never seen it anywhere that you are allowed to bring on wine for consumption in your cabin without paying the corcage fee.
There was nothing at the time that I couldn't . They just mentioned in public places...

This was maybe 7/8 yrs ago. I did not carry it onboard. It was wrapped in ziploc bags. Evidently the suitcases are scanned. Note on my door said to report to the security office. Yes, they told me of the corkage fee , but me & the mrs. are alittle rebellious. They showed me in their " do's n don'ts " , but at the time it was printed " in restaurants or public places "..
I stuck to my guns..show me where it was printed " cabins ".Unless I have an open door policy..
They lost this one.....

Anecdote to this. Once brought 2 bottles of wine on board. Never got my luggage and got a note to precede to the security office . Was told my wine was hidden and would have to pay $15 per bottle for a corkage fee . Not happening ! Complained to the " bar & beverage " mngr. She stated their policy..
I showed them their written policy of wine in public places, etc. I agreed...
My CABIN was not a public place !!!
Kept my wine ( no charge ) & received a plate of chocolate covered strawberries that evening..

Also will be doing a Sept. Canada/ New England Escape. Trading in beaches, sand for Lobster !!!
First time in 30yrs of cruising. Bucket List ? oh well

took family 2 yrs ago BA . 4 cabins..deck 9 all next to eachother. One cabin had the angled balcony.
It was Spring vacation so ship had 100% more yngins than normal . Definately have NCL book the specialty restaurants , shows , etc.to make sure all cabins are connected to the times . If you don't ask , you don't get..Our guy reserved every dinner..Specialty and Mdr's / Taste/Savour and the Dinner shows as well..
Pool deck is another story. Very hard to get more than 4 lounges together ! 8 is impossible..
Many big ship activities are held in the atrium, as stated BA has no Spinnaker Lounge.
Depending on ages , Splash Academy is adequate.

been on many cruises out of ny & fl with destinations east, west, & southern carribbean places. Been to islands, beaches, & the ST' 's. Wife knows it's going to be difficult for me in Sept. Doing a Canadian/New England cruise. Giving up the pool, sand & dolphin swims for a lobster roll and whale watching..

NJBILL...booked Escape to canada/new england for sept..doing the lobster run..tired of sand for awhile..

Been using the same guy at NCL for yrs. He takes my charge card and books everything..Cabins where I want..Specialty restaurants..shows n even complimentry mdr's on the bigger ships ...it does pay off when on the bigger ships and traveling with 4 cabins, 8 people n grandkids.. My thoughts..thxs

Been on big n small NCL's out of N.Y. I use an NCL person for a few yrs now. My rule of thumb. Depends on how many balcony decks..I take the middle deck.....Depending on a 2 bank or 3 bank of elevators, I get a cabin as close to the elevator group which goes up ro the pool/ buffet. Kind of easy system for me

A larger reservation may require phoning, particularly if there are more than 8 people as those quantities are not usually offered to book online. Anyone at NCL will be able to deal with that.
We were dealing with 4 cabins/6 adults & 2 grandkids..We needed NCL help to drop-down the times at the specialty restaurants to get all the same , and he was even able to confirm for a Cirque show & MDR/Savour/Taste dinners ( which at home we could not confirm )

Breakaway twice. Lots to do..took family ( 4 cabins ) , gave them walkie talkies , just meet for dinner. See ya !!!!..foods are fine...shows are decent for old n yng. no problems to really complain about.
-
we have used a guy from NCL for a few years now. We have taken our family and by ourselves. He was able to connect all 4 cabins to a reservation time at the " specialty restaurants " , all reserved dinner shows and even the " complimentary " Main , Taste n Savour ( even before we actually booked with him ), which is why we have used him 4 times after...
Make a call to NCL concierge...

we all ran around. Parents , kids & grandkids were at a table with another parent n child. The kids had fun running around getting clues together...Found out later on the my son ( the magician ) & son-in-law ( engineer ) , kind of figured the room out , but waited to run with the solution till the bitter end to unlock the answer ! Really ??
But truly a fun time. The Breakaway Escape was in the mid morning not during the evening.

After many NCL cruises , I do my homework and know the exact route to O'Sheehans for lunch. Gangplank straight up to O'Sheehans..Most new cruisers dont realize its open for breakfast even...March cruise was 2hrs late boarding..Ran to O'Sheehans to meet a friend..empty...

So much above to agree with the environment , however , I drink ice cold Mudslides and within 2 minutes of stirring and sucking thru the paper straws , the straw unravels into soggy paper. Use a paper cup instead of the plastic..7 Mudslides a day X 10 days...get rid of the cups and save my straws...

Took family on Breakaway 2 yrs ago. Son signed up. What a surprise ! We won ! Family consisted of 2 engineers , a teacher , and a professional magician , and me and the mrs. Of course , I was of no use !!!!

Most ships have the 5 basic specialty Moderno / Teppannaki / Cagneys / Le Bistro/ La Cuccino. Depending on your " perks " per cruise length and/or your Lattitude tier , you may be entitled to specialty every nite of your cruise. No matter what is stated , even if it says " a la carte " , you can order 1 of every category on a menu. Appetizer.soup.salad.main course.dessert. No Extra charge..
Cruised last month and ended up with 6. 4 " perked " & 2 lattitude. Going to see what NCL throws me in Sept. lol
All good eateries to enjoy

So did this Room with my family of 8 with 2 grandkids. Sorry to brag , but out Team won. With 2 engineers + son who is a professional magician ,they somehow figured the room out and watched several teams run up & try to solve it. And when 30seconds to go, walked up, gave the numbers to unlock the box & won.
I was of NO HELP !!!!! lol enjoy and have fun....

get a concierge at NCL. Have used one in particular for a few cruises . He is able to book everyone in your party for all meals together , as well as specialty shows. It is rather hard to book 4cabins with 8 people to eat at a certain venue for the same time. On-line only offers drop down menus. The more people the less availibilty. LET NCL get it all together
-
certain restaurants are " anything on the menu " others have listed items priced separately But the actual Dining Perk is a flat Fee for an entire meal for 1 price ..kind of fixed

will be leaving this thread to you guys. If you read my 1st post to this thread , I stated that this was just my funny story concerning a " corkage fee " on NCL.
All of you enjoy your upcoming cruises.
