  1. Looked at it but price is crazy. Paint, slides maybe some new carpet? Not worth $800 or $900 increase from Jan prices.
  2. No one is stalk you. You just are not used to having your inaccuracies pointed out. You are just verbose and insistent on spreading untruths. I am not the who is "rare."
  3. After 50 cruises with Royal, we have no plans of stopping. We have 5 weeks booked. I discuss the cutbacks but would never let anything so far stop us from cruising ... like you, we love those sunsets, no one has to drive and being waited upon. We rarely get off at ports any longer, preferring playing king of the mountain on a nearly empty ship. I always tell younger cruises to learn the power of a cash tip. It might get you free wine in a specialty restaurant, a double pour by your favorite bartender, or like our last cruise when I asked for a double scotch to take to the cabin to use my last 2 vouchers he disappeared for a minute and came back with the coke cup and filled it with scotch. Said he didn't want me to spill it. The cup was valid for 4 weeks and we were on for 3. I know that I'm giving away secrets but only you are listening.
  4. This a BIG cut back on Royal that has not received much attention. When you could stop/ start minutes on Royal I could stretch my free out for a week. Get email/ sign out/ reply to email/ they send next time you log in.
  5. Do you always insist that your way is the right way? Must be fun to be around.
  6. If I did, it would be to be make sure my tips go to those who actually provide service. Auto grats = no worries about service. Get tipped no matter what. Plus, from discussions here and onboard, tipping in cash almost always results in more tipping than you claim.
  7. No, I didn't mean to say you can't post. Water is being effected by the supply chain. From cans to various random branded products we have seen it all on recent cruises. If it matters I would suggest packing a case. You might also ask a bartender if he has your brand in the back. That worked for us. We used our leftover free drinks plus a $5 bill and he gave us the case.
  8. Over hyped title. Watch the news for real disasters. This was simply a comedy of errors. Nothing stopped anyone from walking to the curb to get an uber. You were not locked in.
  9. We all enjoy that part of cruising but those are things they can not cut back on. This thread is real experiences of cutbacks.
  10. Common story about why you tip but tips are meant to reward service. And you always equate removing auto grats with no further tipping. So untrue if you read the thread.
  11. Go to mdr upon boarding and request time and table size. $20 folded up helps.
  12. Lower your expectations. Service, staffing, food options are all being reduced. Sorry.
  13. Its not Royal. Its Uber not wanting to pay the permit fees. So they can only meet you outside the gate on the curb.
  14. Sure, if they take out 3 floors of MDR and expand specialty. UDP could be a problem with the time they want. We have never not been able to find a time at specialty when flexible on timing.
  15. Streamed lined menus. Like on nursing homes? There will always be food... pushing to specialty restaurants.
  16. Food quality has nothing to do with staffing. Its cost cutting imho.
  17. And they are the main means of the guest experience. Pressure from both sides.
  18. Carved anything except turkey was rare in Windjammer. Turkey even at breakfast. Desserts are lacking quality and quantity in Windjammer except for last day when they can be put out again 1st day of next. Staff in Windjammer rarely offer drink service unless waved down. Too few of them. We found new menu offers in MDR much smaller and less appetiting. Switched to specility restaurants and loved all those meals.
  19. Tax free. So double it for comparison to land based wages.
  20. @Longfordthinks its funny, but I for one am glad cabin attendants will be making more.
  21. I certainly did not mean it that way. My only point was that waiters and managers in non-cruise ship restaurants are trained much differently than cruise ship staff. That does not mean anyone should not tip wait staff on cruises. Only that imho one can not compare the two different jobs. The training and performance are different.
