No don't know him. Our daughter lives in Huntsville which is what brought us here 9 years ago. -
Fulton Street Cruise Parking Question
Katie H replied to yancycruiser's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
I can't remember which level we parked on, maybe 6. We parked near the elevator but didn't realize until we got our luggage out of the car that there were a few steps up to the elevator, but we managed it. Not sure how to get to the parking spots that were level with the elevator, maybe had to start back down. Anyway, directions to the garage were confusing - google maps was directing us to the wrong side of the building. What worked for us was to come down Charles Street to Harmony Circle and get onto Andrew Higgins Blvd. Turn left onto S.Peters St., then right onto S. Diamond St. You can drop your passenger and luggage on Diamond St. at the entrance door to the garage building. That is where the shuttle will pick you up. Then turn right onto Convention Center Blvd. and right into the garage. Someone will be at the top of the ramp to take your paperwork and direct you. It was really very easy. -
NCL Promo Code list - Past and present
Katie H replied to WillCruiseForMoney's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Yes, I think you're right. I just checked the invoice for our cruise where we are taking advantage of our Diamond one category upgrade (from ocean view to balcony) and I do have the code DIAXUP. -
Thank you. I'm packing now so this is helpful. I always bring a pump bottle of hand soap when it is not provided at the sink.
-
@boxman52Can you tell me was there shower gel provided? Also, is there liquid hand soap at the sink? Thanks.

Thanks. Looks like 10346 is probably also shown incorrectly as angled 😒. But better to know now than not until we board. Now to find out if it really is an enclosed balcony. I may be moving cabins but it is B2B so need to get same for both legs.
-
Do you know which cabins on Joy are incorrectly noted as angled? I'm booked in 10346 which I thought was angled. On my invoice it says "This cabin has an enclosed balcony". I assumed that was an error since it seems an odd place for an enclosed balcony. I'd appreciate any info you have. Thanks.

"house" wine price by the glass or bottle
Katie H replied to Birdnutty's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Oddly enough, NCL's own brand of East West wine which used to be $9/glass is now $17 per glass but only $27 per bottle. -
You can use it for drinks if you don't have the package, taxes charged on the drink package while in port, items in the shops, excursions, wine tasting events. I think you can use it to pay for a meal in a specialty restaurant. But when we used our FAS and Platinum meals, we were no longer allowed to use it to add a tip to the zero balance check as we had in the past. The tips we added were part of our balance due at the end of the cruise. You just have to plan ahead to be sure you use it. I think we may upgrade our internet package next cruise.

We have not been allowed to use our SH credit for CN on any cruise we took this year. Also cannot use it to leave additional tips. It is getting difficult to spend it.
-
We have done it in Food Republic and Q. We take our Platinum voucher good for two meals and take another couple with us. Two meals was more than enough to feed 4 people in those restaurants. I don't think it would work so well in other restaurants.

Price drop after final payment for NCL cruise - request OBC?
Katie H replied to BrachaPDX's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
If you received an FCC for a price drop after final payment, can it be applied to another cruise you already have booked or is it for new bookings only? -
Fulton Street Cruise Parking Question
Katie H replied to yancycruiser's topic in Gulf Coast Departures
We will be using this garage for the first time. I have conflicting driving directions. Do we enter the garage from Andrew Higgins Blvd. or from S. Diamond Street? I also see conflicting info on the reservation confirmation. In one place, it says to scan the bar code to get a ticket and then park the car. In another place it says when arriving we must check in with the garage attendant before entering the garage and do not take a ticket before checking in with the attendant. For those who have used this facility, what is the correct procedure? -

Missing NCL Joy cruises? April-May 2023
Katie H replied to Sand and Seas's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
The letter we received said the change is due to a full ship charter, so I assume it is the 4 missing days that are chartered. -
Missing NCL Joy cruises? April-May 2023
Katie H replied to Sand and Seas's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
You are correct that there is nothing showing on NCL site from 4/27 until 5/14. A big online TA is still showing a 3 day from 4/27 to 4/30 and a 12 day from 4/30 to 5/12. We are booked on the 4/30 cruise and it still shows as booked in my account. I think it had been scheduled to do a deadhead from Miami to NYC from 5/12 to 5/14. I will be keeping an eye on this. -
FAS Drink Pkg Gratuity up 10% for 2023
Katie H replied to laudergayle's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
That does seem the most likely scenario. Not sure I care about the water. We already get 4 boxes for Diamond level. Just more stuff to take up space in the cabin. -
FAS Drink Pkg Gratuity up 10% for 2023
Katie H replied to laudergayle's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I have cruises booked in February and April and my invoice shows the $19.80 pp/pd charge for drink package. Will they revise the invoice or am I grandfathered in at that price? -
@ChiefMateJRKWe had just cancelled when you posted this question. I was waiting for refund to answer. Refund received today. We canceled just days after we made final payment. NCL retained 25% of our cruise fare only. Taxes and fees and dining and beverage gratuities were returned. It was a very complicated refund because we had paid with CruiseNext Certificates, FCC which has expired so could not be returned and credit card payments. The expired FCC was counted as part of our penalty thereby returning more to our credit card than I had expected. The only complication remaining is that we had made a $500 Amex payment last year during one of their cash back offers and Amex had given us a $125 statement credit. I'll just watch to see if Amex reverses that credit, but that has nothing to do with NCL.

We went to see the Loyalty host and asked if the activities were available. He said no and we asked for the OBC and it was put on our account. We are Diamond and I think it was $50. May be $25 for lower levels.
