  1. Mom hates these so much. We were perusing the clearance sunglasses rack at a local store because she had a condition where she HAS to wear sunglasses in bright light, but she also misplaces them all the time. So, she buys the cheap 99 cent-$5 ones so she won’t cry when she looses them. Anyway, she saw these and goes “oh my gosh, who the heck would wear these HIDEOUS things? No wonder they’re 99 cents!” I snatched them and put them on, and she goes “seriously? They’re so ugly! They’ll blind people!” Well…as you can see, I not only bought them, but they’re now my go-to vacation sunglasses and this will be their 5th cruise, 3rd with her! Each cruise she’s like “please tell me you finally broke or scratched those awful glasses and have a new pair.” Hehe, no chance Mama!! Thank you!! They’re pretty fun haha. It’s an awesome one! I actually JUST booked it again for myself and DH next year. Thank you!! Welcome aboard!!
  2. I will try to remember to ask! 🙂

  4. @sunshower9 @JLewinFL @Cricket551 This is me! I think my crazy “vacation sunglasses” that embarrass my mom (B has yet to see them) so bad are pretty unique. 😂
  5. Well heck!! I love St Kitts!! I would have loved a stop there. We did book a pretty good sounding catamaran tour in St Thomas (our only real shore excursion booked) but I think B may appreciate the St Thomas shopping, so I won’t complain. Welcome aboard!! Thank you!!
  6. We started planning this adventure back in the summer 2023. Mom is spoiled and won’t sail any Carnival ships other than the Vista class now (WHY did I introduce her to the Havana area, and then MSC’s Yacht Club? Sheesh!) so that really limited our choices. No way were we flying to CA for the Panorama, and I despise Miami and won’t book out of there again, so that left us with the Vista from Port Canaveral. We looked at itineraries, and I wanted to do the Southern run to take Mom someplace new, but we thought B might really enjoy the beach day at Grand Turk and the forts and cool-ness of walking downtown in San Juan, so we booked the 8 day run going to those 2 ports as well as St. Maarten and St. Thomas. I am not really sure why we chose the date we did, I think it just happened to work with all of our schedules, and they had Havana cabins on deck 5 (our favorite! Yay!) available, sooooooo here we are!
  7. Hey hey! Sounds like we are gonna have a Havana area party!!
  8. I love the sign too, it’s so true. 🙂 Thanks for the well wishes!!
  9. Welcome aboard! Im sure pics of me will appear here, so I will be recognizable. 🙂
  10. Delish and dangerous.....oh my. I discovered them on the last cruise on the evening that my mama came searching for me in her PJs. When i went to stand up I realized just how strong they are!
  11. Hey, I (well, me and my girls) are in the Havana too! I'll be the one drinking Cuban iced teas made with Diet Pepsi (so I feel less guilty). Welcome along for the ride! Welcome! I hope you have an awesome cruise!
  12. Whoo hoo!! See you onboard, most likely at a bar! 😂 My haunt is usually Alchemy, altho with Mom and B along that may not be the case this time. Welcome aboard Jimbo!!
  13. So sad we miss sailing with you guys! I will try and keep her in good shape, but on a girls' cruise, I make no guarantees! Yay, maybe we will run into each other! I'll post a pic of myself so maybe you will recognize me 🙂 Thanks for reading along!!
  14. Hey hey, Cruise Critic fam! Who’s suffering from cruise withdrawal? Who out there is staring at their countdown clock, willing it to move a little faster? Who’s mouse finger is just itching like crazy to push the button to book another cruise, but their significant other (or pocketbook) won’t let them? Side note: in that particular case, ditch that significant other, they OBVIOUSLY don’t get how important cruises are to your mental health and don’t want what’s best for you. And if the pocketbook is the problem, dude (or dudette) that is what credit cards are for….book the cruise. Wait, just kidding, don’t follow that last piece of advice. That’s terrible, I should be ashamed, I work in finance for goodness sakes! Let’s skip the advice-giving and get on with this….this….whatever the heck you want to call this. A hot mess, that’s what we shall call it. This is yet another mother/daughter cruise (yes, I KNOW Mom and I just took a cruise together 20 days before this one, and yes, I KNOW I should feel ashamed at leaving Chris (my DH) behind yet AGAIN, but guess what….I don’t care, and I don’t feel guilty!) but this time we are throwing in a THIRD person to spice up the fun! Although, for those who followed our most recent review….do we REALLY need to spice it up? I think we need LESS drama! Joining us is a former co-worker of Mom’s and mutual friend, who we shall call B. She has a warped sense of humor like Mom, and drinks like a fish like me (spoiler alert: we have the drink package this time, so WATCH OUT!) so this is gonna be a fun 8 day adventure. B sailed with us once before, back in 2019 and loved cruising and had been asking to go again with us. Now that things are back to normal (what is normal, anyway?) we are finally able to do so!
  15. I had my recent dosage instructions for my sinus infection and my pneumonia, so we went with the sinus infection one. 🙂 Thank you!
  16. Yes, I feel that we got lucky accident wise for sure. To be able to walk away with just some bruises (we each have a few that have now appeared from seatbelts & my knee hitting the steering wheel) and sore muscles is pretty lucky. This was my first time purchasing antibiotics in a foreign country. We went to the shop in the port, and man where they hustling!! Good idea!!
  17. I am back to the grind today, saving that beloved PTO for more cruises! LOL. I am pretty darn stiff today tho.
  18. We do! Rammit is Chris’s truck, “if you can’t dodge it, ram it!” My dear sweet truck isn’t very creative…she’s red, and I just call her Red.
  19. Oh! I have some good news to share! When Chris arrived to rescue us last night and we went to get everything out of the car (everyone is assuming it’s totaled and we won’t see it again) I realized “Ohhhhhh snap….my BRAND NEW iPad was in the trunk, just thrown into a side pocket of my super small hotel bag, pretty much unprotected. The side of the bag the iPad was on was facing the back of the car. They tugged and they pried and they wrenched to get that trunk to pop open, and when it did I was SHOCKED at the mess inside. Bags were all over and not how we had arranged them, and I just grabbed my stuff and tossed it in Rammit (Chris’s truck). This morning I decided to go ahead and unpack, do laundry, and re-pack for my Vista cruise in 3 weeks (Can that one PLEASE be less chaotic than this one??) and I unzipped that side pocket expecting the worse…but my iPad is intact and working! Hallelujah! I can drop my dang iPhone off a stack of hay bales onto a soft dirt floor and have it break, but the iPad can survive a 65-70 mph rear-end collision…hmmm. I’m impressed.
  20. Me too! It was my first accident, and I really, really hope my last!
  21. That may be the case for us, we will see. Thank you for following along.
