As @steamboats said, don't bother with the excursion. Take the ferry. It's right outside where you dock...less than 4 minute walk.

And as @cbfb said, go to Anacapri...do not, repeat, do not miss taking the chairlift to Monte Solaro. The views are amazing...we went June 2022. There's a little 'coffee shop' in the small park at the top.

Take an open-air taxi from the ferry pier...the ride itself is worth the price of admission...

Here's a great website that gave us a ton of info...you can see the rates of various transportation...

ETA:  Here's a link to the chairlift website...

Thanks for the information.  We did the open air taxi when we did the tour 12 years ago and we also took the chair lift to Monte Solaro.  It was great, that's why we want to go back!

Just walk over to the ferry terminal and take the ferry on your own. The ship tours do use the same ferries.

Yes, that's what I was afraid of.  The tour we took 12 years ago  was on a small boat.  It was very scenic.  We were able to swim and it also stopped at the Blue Grotto for anyone that wanted to go in.  The tour was great and the boat ride played a big part of why it was so great.  I've found independent tours we could take, but we wouldn't get back to the ship on time.

  3. Has anyone taken the Isle of Capri on your own Shore Excursion?  It's offered on the Celebrity Reflection for our day in port in Naples.  I'm curious as to what the capacity is.  We were on a similar independent tour 12 years ago that had a max capacity of only 15 people.  Here's a link to the tour...https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/cruise-planner/category/pt_shoreX/product/NPR8?bookingId=5420720&shipCode=RF&sailDate=20230513

    Thanks,

While our recent experience on the Sky Princess (Jan. 7-14, 2023) was in a Window Suite (next door to the Ocean View cabins you reference) on Deck 17 as far forward as you can go, we felt very little motion way up there on Sun Deck. I am usually prone to feeling queasy/motion sick and I had none this past week. The view was spectacular!!!!

    Thanks!

Pre-order distilled water under dietary restrictions.  There is no charge for water.  They will send you an email response.  Bring your own extension cords (2), no surge protection.

Is that through the app or web personalized.  I can’t find dietary restrictions in earthier place. Thanks

Are you seriously thinking a daily covid count will be provided?  It took over a month to get ship by ship data from the CDC using the Freedom of Information act.

Thats not what I asked.  I asked to be updated if the captain made any announcements regarding covid cases on board.  He has provided this information on previous sailings.

We were on this Equinox cruise that ended Friday. We are both fully vaxed and boosted. On the flight home on Saturday I started feeling uncomfortable with chills and muscle aches. On Sunday I tested positive. My symptoms were mild and now Monday I feel almost back to normal. My wife has no symptoms. We are both in our 70's and considered high risk but healthy otherwise. We did not have any close contact on the ship which could be considered risky.

We have another Celebrity cruise booked for May and I have no fears about doing it again. Just happy to get back to cruising after 2+ years of cancelling and rescheduling and rescheduling.

Did you and your wife wear a mask indoors?

We are on the Equinox now and seem to be the only ones wearing masks inside. If you test positive, you move to deck 3 and will not stay in your suite.

Has their been any announcements regarding numbers of Covid cases on board?  Have any ports been canceled?  Is the buffet self serve now?

  9. I and am sure many others would like to hear from those currently sailing on the Equinox that departed 4/15/22.  Are they requiring masks to be worn inside except for eating and drinking?  Have they canceled any ports of call?  Have they changed any of the covid protocols due to the increased number of covid cases on the previous cruise?  Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Have you been to Castel Sant'Angelo?  The Ara Pacis?  The Baths of Caracalla?  All three are well worth a visit.

The Galleria Borghese is worth a visit for the sculptures alone.   Galleria Doria Pamphiilj is interesting for its history as well as the collection.  The Museum of Rome in Palazzo Braschi (just south of Piazza Navona) offers an intimate view of the city's history.

How about the Basilica of San Clemente?  Here you can go down two levels below the existing church to see how new structures were built on top of old ones.

Thanks for the suggestions. We've been to the Borghese which was awesome, but none of the others.

  11. Thanks everyone.  We've been to Rome and seen most of the sites, but we've decided to stay in Rome for a couple of days after the cruise.  That will make our journey home a little less hectic.  We've been to all the main tourist places in Rome.  Any suggestions on less touristy places or a day trip somewhere?

    Thanks,

    Larry

  12. Hi,

We'll be docking in Civitavecchia on Celebrity Beyond October 3.  There are three flights I'm looking at to return to the U.S.:  10am, 11:05am or 12.:50pm.  I'm guessing there wouldn't be enough time to get the 10am flight, but what about the 11:05 or 12:50 flights?  Has anyone dealt with this?

    Thanks,
    Larry

  13. I was there last week and could only find Myrtle Gibson’s tombstone. It’s completely on the beach now with no vegetation near it. I couldn’t find the other tombstone.  I didn’t have my phone with me so I couldn’t take any pictures. I posted a video a few years ago.

What r coffee cards?  Cost, value?  We r sailing w/o a drink package, but love our coffee.

You can use the coffee cards at the International Cafe for specialty drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, etc.  The card also gets you free coffee, hot chocolate, tea, etc.  The card used to cost $27 and you get 15 specialty drinks for that. That comes to about $1.80 per drink.  The cost may have gone up since our last cruise.  The quality is as good if not better than Starbucks and other Coffee bars.  If you drink lots of coffee and or specialty drinks, it's a great deal.

  15. We are sailing next week on the CB.  I have several unused coffee cards from previous cruises.  Can I still used one of the cards?  I read they are good until August?  Is that correct?

    Thanks,

    Larry
