What is the price difference you are talking about? I think I would just go with the suite because if you book an inside with one of the adults, it might cause difficulty and cost a lot more in the long run. The adult that is booked in the inside could be blocked from some of the suite advantages.
It's at least $600, maybe a bit more. The classic beverage package doesn't mean anything to my better half as she generally doesn't drink anything besides water or tea, with 2 very young kids Luminae would be a challenge every night so we might eat there only a couple of times and order room service more often for dinner. The only challenge would be Michaels Club, but again, besides the small food offerings there isn't too much appeal there for (one) of us besides the bar.

I was looking at a Celebrity Suite or Royal Suite. My thought was that the kids would just stay in the suite with us. I'm trying to understand if this is possible to book the 2 rooms but everyone stays in the same room and why I'm paying at least $600 more for 1 less room. If it's not possible for all 4 of us to be in the same room if we book 2 rooms, then that pretty much answers my question.

I would put one adult and one child in each room, regardless. I doubt Celebrity would allow or like me to book a separate room for 2 young children. It wouldn't be a huge deal if the rooms were on different decks as the kids would just stay in our room and I doubt much time would be spent in the other room. Is this not ethical? Not trying to get away with anything, but I also find it odd to have a whole separate room to cost less than adding 2 kids to a suite.

I was looking at booking a suite for our family of 4 in the caribbean. When I price it out, it's cheaper to book an inside guarantee than it is to book our 2 kids (9 months and 3 years) than it is to have them in the room with us? How is this correct? With the 2 young kids, I doubt we'd eat in Luminae every night if at all, so should I just book the second room with my wife and second kid in 1 room and me and our other kid in the other?

That must be the issue, I was looking at the Royal. Odd that they don't have any 4 person suites. Thanks for the responses.

Am I correct that Princess doesn't allow 4 people in a suite, only mini-suites? We travel with our 2 young kids and like the space of most suites, but I was surprised that I can't seem to book 4 of us in a suite on Princess. Am I doing something wrong or do they just not allow 4 in a suite?

Can anyone speculate what it is after this promotion? We usually book a Celebrity Suite since we are a family of 4 and we don't need the drink package with Michaels club access and currently the offer is all inclusive. I'd rather see a different promo that doesn't involve the drink package. Anyone want to offer an idea?

I'm looking at booking the Divina on Jan. 30, 2016 and see that some websites show the cruise as 7 days and others (including MSC website) are showing it's an 11 day cruise. Does anyone know which is correct? Thanks

The op doesn't mention the itinerary. Can make a big difference.
We did the 12 day Spain cruise last month and we saw no one without a jacket at dinner on formal nights..at least in traditional seatings. Really...I make it a point to watch out of curiosity.;)
That being said, on a Carib 7 dayer there are cruisers that tend to ignore dress guidelines.
The itinerary is a 15 day transatlantic. I didn't realize traditionally a dinner jacket is a tuxedo, I'm glad I know that now!
I'll take a sport coat as that sounds like it's the best option. Thank you for all the feedback.

I'm trying to pack and realized I about hit the luggage limit and I still haven't packed for formal nights. Is a dinner jacket ok or do I need a full dark suit? Can't remember what people generally wear on HAL. Thanks!

Celebrity allows you to move rooms within a category, once you are assigned a room on a guarantee. Does HAL allow this too? Relatives of ours going on our cruise have been assigned a room, but wanted to see if they could move closer to our room. Thanks!

I've always wondered this, how do tips work for staff working in the MDR during breakfast/lunch? Do your daily tips go to the servers there?

Can someone tell me if I can attempt do this in the Neptune Lounge or do I have to go to the Maitre' D, and where is he/she located on the first day? The early dining time that we want is full and not currently available. Thanks.

I remember when Michael's Club was use as a bar/lounge where there was entertainment. Certainly it was not located any where around the suites. We were also on the Infinity, so OP need to know more. Where it is located etc.?
Michaels Club is located between the casino and show lounge on the Constellation, I believe on deck 4. You are correct that it is a ways from most suites, unlike the Neptune lounge.

We recently returned from a Celebrity cruise and had the pleasure of being able to use Michaels Club onboard the Constellation. Here is what I observed in the differences...
Room:
Michaels Club was dark and mostly empty the entire cruise. It is a very nice room with wood paneling, nice seating options, and a few exterior windows to the non-wrap around promenade deck.
Neptune Lounge is smaller and has no exterior windows. It also feels decidedly more crowded as more people have access to it than Michaels club. It's more brightly lit as well.
Food:
Michaels Club had some nice food options, but the items were limited. There is a small table set up that has coffee and the snacks change throughout the day.
Neptune Lounge certainly has more food options for breakfast and I think overall there is just more food and snacks available. It was designed to have food where you walk in while Michaels Club just put a table out near the back of the room.
Drink:
In my mind Michaels Club wins this hands down. They have a full open bar available from 6 AM to 10 PM. The bartender will make drinks, pour you some decent (house, but still very drinkable) wine, and there are a variety of beers, soda and bottled water available.
The Neptune Lounge has the coffee machine as well as some other non-bottled drinks available. They also offer some not-so-great sparking wine on embarkation day.
Concierge:
I can't make a fair comparison as I didn't really use the concierge on any of our cruises. I will note that Bogdan (on Celebrity) was excellent, and was very interactive with our daughter. I found the same to be true with HAL
Overall:
Michaels Club is a much better experience if you like to have a drink. The atmosphere is quieter, although that is mostly because no other passengers were really in there. It was nice being able to get a few bottles of water to bring back to your room and not getting asked for your key card.
One note; Michaels Club does not have a key card access like the Neptune Lounge. They know who you are as there is a printout of your picture (from embarkation) that they use to identify you.

Thanks for the feedback. We are going on the July 8 trip, with our 2 year old daughter. We like to walk a lot and she is fine with walking a bit and being in her stroller when she doesn't want to walk. Would you recommend walking in most of the ports with a guide book or use the onboard tours instead? What did you do in St. Petersburg? Thanks for any input!

$59.00 a day on the Celebrity site...I know they add gratuities, but do they also add tax? Thx!
No tax when I was going to check out. From what I've read, they don't charge it online, only if the ship is in port when you buy it.

You have 2 options, I think;
1) You can call the airline and switch to a later flight. They won't charge you fees due to the cancellation/time change.
2) 11:20 flight should give you plenty of time to get to the airport, check in, and go through security without having to carry your own bags off. It's about 30 minutes to the airport and they do a good job of getting people off the ship and quickly to the airport.
Either case, it's not that bad of a scenario, but I understand your frustration.

Thanks for the feedback. The flyer shows an onboard price that is the same the website is charging - that is $59 for the premium package. It would be nice to save the 10%, but I guess that won't be happening

I remember Simon! He was on our very first cruise on the Summit in 2004. I was really impressed by him. I'm glad he's moving up in the company, I'm sure it's well deserved.

We are going on the Constellation in July, and I like to look every once in awhile to see what cabin categories are still available. I looked yesterday and they don't even list the Constellation for either the July 8 or July 20 trip anymore, but they do list the other ships in Europe. Is this because the ship is completely sold out for both trips? I thought it was a bit strange to not list the cruise at all...

Is the only difference between a 2 bedroom family suite and a Haven 2 bedroom family suite the Haven? Is it worth the difference in price? Seems like everything else besides access to the haven is the same? Thanks!
