You are considered fully vaccinated with the one dose Johnson & Johnson vaccine after 14 days just like after 14 days with the two dose vaccines. Who knows if this will stay the same though once boosters are approved.

Do you have any official link for me? That this is acceptable for Carnival?

  2. My apologies if this has been asked before. In today's announcements and updated policies Carnival keeps mentioning 2 doses of the vaccine for being fully vaccinated.

What happens to those who only received 1 dose of Johnson and Johnson  as only 1 shot is required?

    Please help!!

I had my 6 ft confiscated in miami. They are iffy at best, especially longer ones unless you have a CPA or whatever it's called. I wanted one for a electric clock. Clock allowed, the extension cord unplugged from clock and taken to naughty room.

    Oh no!!

I'm finding ones for cruises, but all 5t. That's too short, we'll be tripping non stop. LOL

  4. I need to make a final payment and my agent is telling me that GoCCL is down.

He could call Carnival to arrange this, I know.

Just wanted to check whether there are ta's on here also having trouble accessing the system.

False...I have had 3 cruises cancelled....all rebooked with no additional money put down.

First was last march--rescheduled to august 2020

August 2020 cancelled...rescheduled to this coming March

This March cancelled--just rescheduled to next March 2022

All with NO money put down...just transferred the credits (fully paid March 2020 to start). All rebooked with my PVP of 12 years with Carnival.

We also have a cruise coming up this August on the mardi gras.    Crossing my fingers we are a go

NEW rule is that the deposit on a paused sailing becomes FCC. If you have paid MORE than the deposit, then that money can go towards a fresh deposit on a rebooked cruise.

Then anyone can transfer over your FCC, cancelation obc and the rest of your money.

You said yourself you were fully paid, so that's probably why you didn't need a fresh deposit.

That's been explained to us by PVPs, a travel agent, the Casino dept plus the Diamond desk.

  6. We're pretty frustrated at this point. Understandably cruises are canceled, but when we try to apply the FCCs to new bookings, Carnival requires fresh deposits.

On these boards and the book of Faces, people are saying that they got everything transferred over without a new deposit. Well, we've been unlucky. PVP couldn't do it, calling 3 different agents couldn't do it, even the Diamond Desk couldn't do it.

It's not about the money, it's the fact that we have 5 canceled bookings with loads of money in Carnival's hands. Don't want to donate more $$$ until the ships start sailing?

Requesting a refund is also a can of worms....

  7. We are booked on the Miracle to Hawaii and that cruise is not showing anymore.

Personally I don't believe the capacity stuff people have been posting (if indeed the ships will sail at a certain capacity, when will that percentage be disclosed and why isn't this one rule for all ships?)

Anyway.... anyone heard anything about Hawaii??

  8. Please help me settle a dispute.

A colleague of mine has 195 VIFP points.

He has an upcoming 5 day cruise and is convinced that he will receive a Diamond card on Day 1.

I do know that you will get an upgraded card if you move up levels during the cruise. But in this case, he would have the 200 days after the cruise is over. Does that still mean he walks on as Diamond?

  9. Actually just booked the Homewood Suites Dolphin Mall. I hope this was a good choice. Any feedback would be appreciated.

I absolutely love this hotel. Great breakfast, excellent service and the property is fresh and new.

The have a golf cart shuttle to/from the Dolphin Mall.

  10. What option works best for you ?

only you can make the decision

    NOOOOO, I need your help!!

My family is about to kill me because of my indecisiveness.

I like the Comfort Suites idea because it's sounds less busy, close to K-Mart, other shops and IHOP (very important to the kids). But Hyatt is Hyatt, you know?

  11. I'm back!!! Last question, I promise.

I got a good deal at the Comfort Suites in Dania Beach - fairly new, large suites, parking & breakfast included.

For a couple of dollars more I can get Hyatt Regency Pier 66 (no breakfast, valet parking, but better location).

This is for a tower room, which according to TripAdvisor are better rooms.

    What should we do????

  12. Those three will have you in walking distance or nearby to everything for your post cruise stay. And they will be more moderate compared to others, especially in the fall.

Springhill Suites is good too. BUT with no car you are going to need uber or a car to get into Ft. L.

Thanks for your input. We will have a car. That's why the hotels with high valet parking fees are a no-no.

I will check out the hotels you've all recommended. Thank you.

  13. Plunge Beach Hotel is a brand new hotel in Lauderdale by the Sea:

    http://www.plungebeachhotel.com/

Rates for October range from $87/night to $127/night. There is a $25 resort fee, but it includes a lot: beach chairs, umbrella, WiFi, bicycles, pool/beach towels, fitness center, and valet parking.

Thank you. But we don't want to stay at the beach and that resort fee includes everything we will not be using, except wifi.
