  1. We were exactly left of forward middle, deck 8, large ocean view cabin (8102). It was during the infamous February 6th cruise. My DH is extremely prone to motion sickness and wears 1/2 of a Scopolamine patch. Neither of us got sick, even with the extreme motion from the storm. Don't go into a cruise expecting to be sick. Stay away from folks that are always complaining about the motion. Use the patch and expect the best. It's an amazing ship and we are returning to it in September. Have a wonderful time.

  2. Yes! We do only carry-on. It takes careful packing and planning. Our record carry-on was a 17 day winter Med cruise plus 5 nights in London. A week long cruise is definitely manageable.

I can supply details, but would most likely bore most readers!

I would definitely not be bored to read the details. We would love to bring just carry one. Please supply and those who don't want to see it could just skip the entry.

    Cheers, Elizabeth

  3. There is not a promenade deck to walk around. Only the top. We could not go to the bow. We loved Bolero's but there was not a view of the ocean.

Our favourite place to just relax and read was on the most amazing couch, fifth deck, just across from vintages.

It is a beautiful ship and we will be on her again in September. Our last cruise on her was cut short so we look forward to trying things that were not available to us due to the terrible weather.

  4. In February, on the Anthem, we had an ocean view cabin. We rec'd bar soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner and body lotion. All were separate items.

On our previous cruise, on Allure, we had the dispenser in the shower with the mystery liquid. However, our cabin steward also provided us with the above mentioned items when I asked if there was conditioner available. All items were replenished frequently, even before we emptied the previous supply.

  5. We've had boardwalk balconies twice on Oasis and absolutely loved them. Can be a bit noisy when sitting out but no problems with the door closed.

Amusing story: Was sitting on my boardwalk balcony reading my book "The Help". Looked up at the movie playing on the huge screen at the aqua theatre and what was playing - "The Help"!!! Had a difficult time reading because I kept watching the movie. Had to go in to read so I wouldn't see the end before reading it!

  6. My very first cruise was with three other ladies. The ship was the approx. 38,000 ton HAL Noordam. We had a very small inside cabin with two beds and two bunks. There was one night table between the beds. There were four very narrow closets and four dresser drawers. We staggered our shower times and did make up in the room.

    We had a blast!!!

Just keep a sense of humour, share as much as possible and take turns buying the wine at dinner.

You should have the best time!

  7. For years now, we have been doing self-disembarkation. We are one of the first to leave the ship when it is cleared. Usually around 7:00 am. It's a 10 minute or so taxi ride to the airport and we end up waiting to check in. I have had a flight as early as 10:30 am and was waiting for the airline check-in folks to set up!

I know things can happen, but if you are willing and able to take your own bags off the ship, earlier flights are doable.

    Cheers, Betty
