  1. To each his/her own. We love good food but at this point in time will not pay extra for a meal on a cruise ship. We travel simply (inside guarantee) so we can cruise more often; thus no specialty restaurants for us. Would I like to? Heck yes!! Also being from Canada we would pay and do pay on bar bills an extra 35%. As time progresses I would love for us to be in a position to try the specialty restaurants. For those that do, good on you!

  2. So this may be a silly question, but am now just reading about WOW bands - have not heard of them before reading this thread. But if you don't get your WOW band OR Sea Pass card on the Anthem until you get to the room, the IMPORTANT question is - how do I get a drink at a bar upon embarkation without having my sea pass card before I get to my room at 1?

  3. Has anyone ever had problems transferring a booking made through the RCCL website to a TA after it was paid in full? Just booked on Friday evening for March 6th departure so had to pay in full. Decided to transfer to a TA since we were looking at adding another cruise right after and booking others for later in the year and thought it would be easier to coordinate through a TA. RC told TA she could not take it over since it was paid in full.

  4. We were on the Allure for the September 4th sailing. Bar service was terrible. We found it far more efficient to go up to the bar and get our drinks at any bar on the ship (except the comedy club which was very efficient). Bar service for MTD was non-existent. We were never asked if we would like a drink from the bar - we always had to ask. And as matj2000 posted there were times we had to get our own drink from the bar that was at the entrance to the main dining room. I have never encountered such poor bar service on any ship.

  5. Don't worry. We had MTD on the Allure for the September 4th sailing. When we arrived on the ship, we went to the MTD desk to try and book reservations and the only reservations we could get were for very late. We were advised to just show up each evening. We were a party of four and ate somewhere between 6:30 and 7:30 each evening and we never had to wait for a table. In fact there were complaints from the line for people who had reservations about how they had to wait to get their table. I think the earlier you show up the easier it is to get a table without waiting. We noticed longer lines in both reserved and just show up when we were leaving the restaurant each evening.
