  1. Continued......

Traditional dining had lots of empty spaces. MTD host saidThey may have to switch MTD to deck 4 because it has more space than deck 5, which was then being used for MTD. I think MTD is becoming more popular. We had he same time, 7:30, same waitstaff and same area of the dining room. only had to wait a few minutes n formal night, low f folks without reservations, waiting perhaps 15 minutes to get seated.

  2. Was on as errands for 24 nights and had MTD. Can only think of one night that we had a wait of about 10 minutes. E Rey other night once we reached the podium we were seated within a minute or two.

  3. Had a similar situation. Filled out report at the pier, followed up with phone call to Miami when we got home....said it would take a few days, and about four days later got a call that they found my luggage and were shipping it to me. Arrived in a couple of days totally intact with departure tags still attached...

  4. Had the same thing happen to me. We had suite/Piñnacle luggage tags, and that luggage is placed in its own area(really just like he numbers). One bag was missing, and we had to catch an early flight. We looked around, couldn't find it, then filed a notice with the folks at the pier and left to catch our flight(we looked for it for about 20 minutes).

Called about this when we got home. Was told it could take a week to find it. About four days later we were called and told the luggage was on the way, at their expense, because we had filled out the missing luggage form at the pier. We were told if we didn't fill out that report, we would have been responsible for the shipping costs(which I wouldn't have minded as I wanted my stuff back).

Luggage arrived next day totally intact and still having the suite/Piñnacle tags attached. Who knows why it wasn't were it as supposed to be.

  5. scanr - you will be able to print your luggage tags after your documents are ready, typically 49 days before the sail date. At that point you will see the "print Luggage tag' button on the set sail pass page. Also, one page of your documents will have a luggage tag printed with the room number and ship and sail date, and you can download and copy that.

If you have booked air thru Royal, documents may not be ready until about 30 days before the sail date.

  6. So it seems pretty unlikely that you will get what you are looking for at the price you originally paid (if at all). Wouldn't the inside also be considerably more than you paid?

MisterBill99, you are confusing me with the OP. As I stated, we booked as soon as the deployment opened, and the inside quad room was then 5500, it is now 6500. Outside quad is $900 more. I keep looking for a price reduction, but it seems unlikely, at least for a few more months. However yesterday I got a price reduction on a cruise in October, and saved $1700. It does happen, but July and October are probably two different scenarios:)

  7. How old are the kids? Anthem interior cabins that hold four have a sofa bed, not Pullman beds, so the kids would share the sofa (or the parents would).

We have the Anthem booked for next July and they have not had any interior cabin that will hold four available for over two months.

Wish the Anthem had some quad cabins with Pullmans, but not the case.

Have been looking for another quad interior for the past two months,so can sympathize with you.

  8. There will be 10 in our party total, but probably not all at once at the beach...we can work in shifts of 6 for the cabana. Truly appreciate all the feedback !:)

You will only get 6 wristbands if you get a cabana at Barefoot beach, and they do not come off easily,so you can't switch them with other people. I don't know what the procedure is on Nellies beach, we have only been on Barefoot.

  9. Had the same thing happen last month on Allure, but we got the bag Back. All luggage tags were intact, the debarkation tags given by the ship and the ones we always travel with which are attached tightly.

We were sure another guest took our bag, as we were among the first off the ship and our luggage was in the suite/pinnacle section, separated from the rest of the guest luggage.

I filed a lost luggage report at the, pier, then called guest relations when we got home, and they took another report. It took 5 days to arrive at my home, but at least I got it back, and because I had filed a report at the terminal, Royal paid the freight charge to return it to me.

If you didn't file a report at the pier, make sure you call and file a report now. You will have to,pay the charge to get it returned if you did not file a report at the pier, but that is better than losing the luggage, and if you had travel insurance they might refund the freight charges.

Don't give up yet, they may find it. I guess mine was probably just put in the wrong section, but I was very happy and surprised to get it returned to me.

  10. Have cruised both Anthem and Serenade, and have future cruises on both, so understand your dilemma.

Serenade is a more intimate ship, with glass viewing areas great for viewing the scenery. Anthem is larger, with more of a "mall" feeling, large promenade area with high end shops and restaurants. Anthem felt more like Oasis class, drawing you more to the inside.

Both ships have indoor solariums, but Serenades is much smaller and Anthems does have great views.

Since you are doing a port intensive cruise and say you are not needing the bells and whistles of the Anthem, figure the per diem for each ship and that might help your decision.

I would have a hard time deciding between the two, but we live in the Boston area so that would be the deciding factor for us.

  11. we live south of Boston and have driven 3 times to Bayonne, arriving the day before the cruise.

We have gone straight down 95 over the GW bridge and from there it is about 1/2 hour to exit 14 for the cruise terminal. From the exit it takes about 25-30 minutes to reach the entrance to the terminal, depending on traffic, and from there it has taken us one hour to reach the terminal one time, and about 15 minutes the other times, and that includes parking in the garage.

A number of hotels have stay and park packages, and they might be about the same price as the pier parking, which is $19 per day. We have stayed at Fairfield Inn and Suites and I know they have a park and stay package, along with a number of other hotels. Make sure there is a shuttle to the pier if you stay at a hotel with this package, as the cab fare could be quite expensive.
