  1. Got off the Harmony this a.m. Here is my review.

We arrived at the ship early on the 16th. They had started boarding and there was no wait.

FOOD: we ate are wonderland, my DH was skeptical and was plotting a visit to the windjammer after. He didn't go, he said it was surprisingly good but he wouldn't go again. We had the eggs, the lobster, the crab and wonton soup. We shared the beef and the chicken. My husband had the chocolate dessert, he said it was delicious. We also ate at Chops, both Chops and Wonderland were part of out BOGO, I chose them both when we got on the ship. Chops was chops, it was good, nothing to wrote home about. I did have shrimp instead of a steak my husband said it was better than his steak. The tip at either restaurant was not included.

Sabor, we ate here, it was a total waste of money and they also charged an undisclosed 7.95 charge. The good was OK. I would go back for Salsa and guacamole and the Margaritas and sangria. We ordered the shrimp tacos and the chicken tacos. Also the Mexican street corn, it was disappointing. My husband had the churos and he said they were good.

Coastal kitchen.... We loved it, only went for dinner as we were in a Jr. Suite. I was disappointed because I went to restaurant first day on the ship, looked at menus and chose the day I wanted. No one told me until I asked why the menu was different that they switched days.

My husband loved sorrentos, he not picky and he's greedy so taken it for what's it worth.

I had the drink package and only received 3 receipts to add tips. I had about 60 transactions over the 7 days, that included water and sparking water. The drink card showed up on day 4 and stayed until the end of the cruise.

I tried every bar and my favorite was the Rising Tide, I loved their drinks and when it went up and down.

Windjammer wasn't too bad. There was an extremely rude hostess. I witnessed her treat two sets of families differently. It was almost lunch time and there was a line. A man and a child said, our family is in there waiting for us. She let them in. Another woman and her sister stepped up and said the same thing. They said we went to change our clothes for church.. She was rude and short with them and denied them entrance. I have my sneaky suspicions why she treated them differently but won't go there here. I tired to report her but couldn't get her name. Someone else must have because I didn't see her the rest of the cruise, I was looking.

Also, they eluded to the fact that they stopped the late night buffets due to waste. They claimed people took pics of them but most of it was wasted.

Our room was great, I won't go back to anything lower than a Jr suite. We felt like we were in our room stewards way. He was already to clean. We had to ask several times for lotion and extra soap. I asked for ice that I never received. He also gave us a "clean" glass that had a lipstick imprint on it.

I was not a fan of the solarium, not because of no swimming pool, it was hot as hell on there.

I was hard pressed to find a nice quiet spot to read other than my balcony which worked.

The galley tour was great, I have a desire to see the behind the scenes working of the the ships ans this gave me a glimpse.

The puzzle break was great too, it was only 8.95 a person.

    SHOWS

Grease was not enjoyable. It was pretty like a high-school production to me

    The aqua show was excellent.

    The comedians were funny.

The love and marriage game and quest are not to be missed.

I didn't get off at any ports I have done everything I want to at all of the ports. We left late from st Thomas. I was watching for the runners from my balcony. There was a man and a woman that looked fishy, even from as far away as I was, something seemed up. Then the police showed up, the woman got back off. Her and one of the officers ran somewhere and then came back. No one I ran into talked about it. One lucky man came running in between that couple arriving and the police coming.

People need to learn elevator etiquette, when the elevator stops it is common courtesy to wait to see if any one is getting off before you try to get on.

I begrudgingly went to the meet and mingle. I say begrudgingly because it was at 9:45am on the 2md day. It was not anywhere near the 100 people that registered. I have concluded that it's too early in the am. They gave gifts, a back pack, a cap, several bottles of wine, a bottle of champagne, dinner at Jamie's and an in room movie, a bingo package.

Also, saying excuse me, thank you and I'm sorry won't hurt you at all. One woman was sitting on her husband's lap at the aqua show, because there were no more seats. The person behind her said, I can't see. Well the people he was with said it, he was nonconfrontational. The woman and the man both acted like they couldn't hear then repeated it 3 times. The woman then said why? I was like wow, is she serious. They reported her, she moved before any one came.

I truly enjoyed this cruise, I will enjoy any and every cruise as long as the ship functions and there is food and drinks. However, I feel like the harmony is entirely too big. Our next cruise is booked, the anthem Thanksgiving 2018.

Any questions, I will do my best to answer.

  2. We are on the Harmony, she is bigger in person.... She's HUGE..

this is a review of the first two hours. I will finish the review when I return, I didn't purchase voom.

We book a flight the day before. An unexpected snow storm in Philly made is miss our flight. A usual 45 min drive to the airport took 3.5 hours. Even though out flight was delayed and still there when we arrived, it was too late for our luggage so we couldn't board. We went standby for coach on the next flight, 830pm which was full(we purchased first class). We get to the gate, my DH talked to the best ticket agent EVER, Cathy, right before I purchased two one tickets on SW for 6am the next morning. She cam through w two first class boarding passes. The plane was supposed to leave at 830, I believe we finally left at 11. Luckily since our original flight was supposed to arrive at 10pm, I booked with the Hampton Inn north cruise Port because they had a 24 hr free airport shuttle. We arrived at 2ish got our luggage and called the shuttle by 230 and were in our prepaid non refundable by 300am. The hotel was adequate nothing spectacular but clean. It was in walking distance to a few restaurants and a shopping center with a grocery store.

We called uber and checked out at 10am, we were on the ship by 1045. There was a long line of cars but luckily enough the traffic director let us go to a very short line. The ship had begun boarding so we walked right on, there was no wait for checking in or anything.

Once on the ship, we were directed to go to silk to check our BOGO dinner reservations. There were none made so we chose Wonderland for tonight and Chops tomorrow night. We also made a reservation for one night at coastal kitchen. He wrote it on a piece of paper and said he would enter it later...... Didn't look promising, it was scratch paper so we will see. Currently sitting on the Rising bar drinking a flirtini.

Any questions I will try to answer before I lose service.

  3. I believe that JS get free WOW bands.

If not, they are only $4.95 each. :)

Wonderland should be included, but it has been a year since I was on the Anthem. I'll be on again at the end of January and can get you the answer then, but you can probably find it by reading one of the recent Anthem reviews.

Thanks. I was asking about the Harmony. I have read a few inconsistent posts about the anthen.

  4. Okay, you go to the store, buy this piece of meat, take it home, put it in my great grandmother's cast iron Dutch oven, sear it on all sides, add potatoes, carrots and onions, pour on Secret Liquid Ingredients, and cook for several hours.

TELL EVERYONE TO COME TO THE DINNER TABLE FOR POT ROAST.

    Maybe it's a Philly thing?

I agree it's a Philly thing. I don't think I have ever served "brisket", but I served "pot roast" often.

  5. They got $1500, not $150. They paid additional for the benefit of compensation if ports of call changed and the insurance company made good on a valid claim. Why should they feel anything but pleased with the outcome? They didn't get a freebie or anything that they were not entitled to. They purchased the coverage.

I made the correction. Something about going and filing the claim just doesn't sit well with me. To each their own though.

  6. I wanted to report back with my results. I made the claim as soon as we returned from our trip and yesterday we received $1500 as a settlement ($750pp). I am thrilled and surprised to say the least. We had a great time on the cruise, which was changed to a Western itinerary. Needless to say, we will be purchasing this type of Nationwide policy whenever we cruise in the future

You went on the cruise and enjoyed it and filed a claim for which you received $1500. Do you feel good about that?

  7. A sinus infection is a bacterial infection but is often caused by conditions brought on by a virus. I used to have a deviated septum and every time I got a cold I ended up with a sinus infection.

  8. Thanks for your feedback.

He's not sure if it's a sinus infection until he sees the doctor. But I looked up sinus infection on Web MD and it states below that a sinus infection can start from a virus. I just thought a lot of germs must be spread by passing the key card back and forth to all the waitresses. I was just wondering if there were any suggestions on staying healthy with so many people on board.

    Viruses

Most sinus infections are brought on by a virus. If that’s what happened to you, then yes, you can spread the virus that caused it but not the infection itself. Another person might get sick but may or may not get a sinus infection. Most of the time, these kinds of viruses cause colds, which may or may not lead to sinus infections.

    Bacteria

Sometimes when the sinuses are blocked and filled with mucus, bacteria can grow and cause an infection. If your sinus infection lasts more than 10-14 days, you’re more likely to have bacterial sinusitis. If your infection is caused by bacteria, you can’t spread it.

    Very interesting.
