  1. Hi, we have the option of 11271 on Edge. Could you please tell me, was there much room on the balcony for any recliners? Someone mentioned 11273 was very noisy with the cabin making all sorts of noises. As this cabin is next door to 11273, did it make these noises as well? Many thanks for your help.
  2. Edge isn’t immune to the noise issues either. We had cracking and popping in our DPV stateroom.
  3. We have the option of SV 8321 or 11271. Has anyone sailed in either of these rooms and can offer advantages/disadvantages for either or both? Thanks, any help would be much appreciated.
  4. We have some missing Captain's Club points and have been trying to contact Captain's Club to claim what we are owed. As we are from New Zealand we are directed to the Australian office. We go through to the dedicated CC line but are told by the operators that to contact CC we have to send an email. We have sent two off now but after a long wait haven't even had any acknowledgement. Our travel agent also tried a couple of times but has had no success. As a last resort, we even wrote a letter to Guest Services on the Edge, (the ship we had been on), and when it came into port in our home town, we asked a passenger if they would deliver it for us. We had hoped they could do something from their end. Still, no joy. I am now looking at ringing the Captain's Club in the USA directly to see if I have any success. I have found this number on the website 1-844-418-6824 Due to the different time zones, I have been trying to work out the best time to ring. What state is this number for so I can calculate the time accurately? Or do you think it is outsourced to another country? Many thanks for your help.
  5. In hindsight, I think it would have been a good idea to get something in writing even though Guest Relations were rather surprised when we mentioned it to them as well as our room attendant. Now it is their word against ours as we try to get the points due to us. I did say this to the Celebrity consultant on the phone and he said they do have ways of finding out if we had elected to go on program. Guess we’ll see if he was correct.
  6. We were on a cruise about five weeks ago. As soon as we met our room attendant, we mentioned we would like to participate in the Go Green program. To make sure we were enrolled, we even went to guest services that first evening to make our request known. The guy told us it wasn’t necessary to tell them but to make sure he rang through to the relevant department to confirm. Since returning home, we have been awarded our 30 points, (10nights x3), but there is no sign of the extra 3. Normally, wouldn’t be too bothered but we are sitting at 297 points so the extra three will take us to Elite for our next sailing. Have emailed CC but no response yet.
  7. We were in 8111, a porthole cabin, on Celebrity Edge and also had similar popping and banging noises. They were definitely more noticeable in rougher seas.
  8. Do they let you know if you have won/ lost a bid over the weekend or is it just during the week, Monday to Friday?
  9. Thank you so much. I managed to find the current sailing and checked out the daily schedule. Four nights there is either an acoustic performer or solo guitarist. One night a silent disco and one night the house band. There are no performers listed for four nights. Would you assume that would just be background music? Thanks.
  10. That’s a great idea. Only problem is, the app won’t let me look at another cruise date other than my own. How do I switch to the current cruise? Thanks
  11. Thanks for your reply. Do you remember what time the late shows ended?
  12. I have been trying to find some updated information on the entertainment that is being offered in Eden, (Celebrity Edge), at the moment. Particularly, what style of music is generally played there, does it go late into the night/early morning and is it every night? We are looking at a cabin that is located close to this venue, (directly above on deck 7), and wondered what impact the noise may have. Thank you.
  13. Thank you. I did search for info but obviously not hard enough. It was most informative but sounds as though there is a bit of confusion regarding the reservation system, if there even is one.
  14. Why can’t I reserve a time. Tried all four dining rooms and they all said “ Dining time already set”. Will I just have to wait until I board?
  15. Hi, we are about to cruise on Celebrity Edge in just over 2 weeks. We have been allocated set dining at 6pm. We have read conflicting information regarding the organization of this set-time dining. Some say that Celebrity has done away with these set times and we can just roll up at any of the four main dining rooms, at any time. I have tried to reserve a booking on the website but it just says "Dining time already set". If we are obliged to stick to this set time, which restaurant will we be eating in and is there a possibility to try the other three restaurants over the course of our cruise? I realize you can order from the menus of the other restaurants but we would like to try all four settings. When I was talking to Celebrity about my dietary requirements, they said the wait list had closed for "anytime" dining making me think that this set dining option is still in play. Can anyone please advise what the story is with set dining and if there is any flexibility? Many thanks.
  16. Can someone advise me where you book for the main dining rooms please. We have also been allocated 6 pm set dining but have been told that it is open seating. There is no “Reserve now” tab showing under any of the restaurants on our app. I just wondered if we were exempt as we had a set time. We sail in just over 3 weeks on Edge so could the restaurants be booked out? We haven’t received any emails from Celebrity encouraging us to book either.
  17. Hi DavyWavey, we watched your ship leave port tonight - what a sight to behold. We’re glad Tauranga put on a lovely fine day for you. Hope you had a wonderful time at Hobbiton. You may not be aware but there were two lots of pier runners. First a group of five and then a group of two. We were talking to the security workers and they were worried they weren’t going to make. First time we have seen folk running for the ship. Here are some photos of your departure from the port. Safe travels.
  18. Thinking back , I remember a cruise many years ago, Aust/NZ, when Customs officers came aboard to process us all and we had to fill in the declaration form etc in readiness for our arrival at the next port.
  19. Yes, we will be arriving from NZ. Our last port will be Dunedin and then we have a day in the Sounds before 2 sea days and arrival at Athol Bay. Do you think we will have to fill out the complete declaration form or just the bio security section? Guess it will all have to be redone the next day when we dock and disembark, as there may be people who don’t get off on that tendering day.
  20. You’ll love Hobbiton. Hope you have a wonderful time. They have recently modified it so I think it’s more interactive. They have added a “Hobbit Hole” you can venture into. Should look very pretty if the flowers are all out. I do have a query for you. I have heard conflicting reports re the dining scenario. We booked late so we’re given the set time of 6pm. We would have preferred “anytime” as I have digestive issues and need to eat early. The special needs team at Celebrity suggested I approach the powers that be when we board and see what they can do as there isn’t even a wait list for “anytime”. However, I read on these boards that these dining times don’t exist and “anytime” dining is for everyone. Can you please confirm either way. If we can do “anytime”, I won’t need to get a letter from my Dr confirming my condition. Thank you so much. Appreciate it.
  21. How does the inspection work then, if the ship berths at Athol Bay, after coming from NZ? Passengers are loaded onto the tenders and could be wearing the shoes they wore on farm visits etc. The ship then moves to the OPT for the night and passengers disembark the next day. By then the shoes have already been worn on Australian soil, or are you required to make a declaration before tendering into the Opera House?
  22. Hi DavyWavey, I am really enjoying your posts. Are you in Tauranga tomorrow? The Edge is due in according to the port schedule. We will be waving out to you from the shore. We are sailing on this beautiful ship in less than 4 weeks and we just have to come and check her out. Have a great day in our beautiful city. Just hoping the weather behaves for you.
  23. What if you looked over the balcony railing and looked out. Just wondering if they park the window washing equipment on the port aft side. I know it is on both starboard forward and aft probably due to the magic carpet. Thanks
