  1. That's awesome.

I actually just did a google search and found a picture of the "sundeck bar" and that puts a smile on my face.

The misting station is an added bonus. I may never leave that area. Lol!!

    Thanks for the quick reply.

Very happy to hear of this area also, and knowing the mister is their also, I'm a very happy camper ..lol:D

  2. I'm sailing Escape 7/1/2018 and I just think planning on a vibe pass is too much pressure. If you don't get it, and that's a real possibility, then you have disappointment within the first hour of what should be a joyous cruise.

While I know hanging out at the pool is almost impossible with such a limited amount of space, there are other areas to enjoy the sun.

Everyone is aware of Spice H2o, which sounds wonderful and there's also an area on deck 19 in the front of the ship outside of vibe that looks great too. There's 2 whirlpools there and I believe there's a bar there too. I'm actually thinking this could be my go to place to sunbathe if there is really a bar there. Anyone know this to be true?

Anyway, I want this to be a casual vacation with as little stress as possible and unless my other people really want to get crazy and run for vibe passes, my choice would be to pass on them.

On this Deck 19 Area outside of the vibe, you mention that a bar and hot tubs, is these any water misters also ? Are the water misters only in the Vibe Area ?

  3. If you avoid the pool deck, you will love this ship. H2O is pretty mellow during the day. Deck 8 is the place to lounge, lots of seating, shade on one side sunny on the other. A nice bar or two. Atrium shows and events can get busy as well, but worth it if you can snag a seat.

Looking for a mellow excursion, try escape to Jost Van dyke, Dont let the description dissuade you. They pull right up to the most amazing beach (and a nice bar). Stunning location.

    t.

does deck 8 , have any mists , or way to get your body cooled down ?

  4. Sorry , meant to say steak @ cagneys,, saw a video of 2 girls and family eating outside ( waterfront ) during leaving St Thomas, was so pretty , especially being sunset, and just others ships leaving also , was pretty, I'm not going to December, have no idea what time to make that reservation,, any suggestions ?

  5. Sailed on Escape last December. It was not as festive as we expected. Very subtle holiday vibe. More green and gold and understated. Easy to miss actually. Here are a few pics 19e7c324b2ca6c31af6e740149823b69.jpg1de2dbbc0d186139b57d29d2a1118fa5.jpgafa3e2c476874c49acc826dceca2d6ce.jpg10acfd3d1d45b28edfb1d0c9ce92cbc1.jpg

Weather was amazing! We'd done Western Caribbean in July, December was such a better choice for the Caribbean. Mid 80s versus high 90s.

    Enjoy!!!

Thanks for the pics,, no biggie on the glitz and glam, simple is fine with us,, delighted on the weather, always worry about that.. What else can u tell me about your view off escape, did you like cagneys ? I have MS so need scooter, so won't be doing any excursions, maybe a little shopping , other than that, just want to relax, did you do the Vibe or the spa area at all ?

  6. where in nj ? Im in Rahway :) and yea I want to so bad but the responsible little angel on my shoulder is saying dont do it! wait to see if it goes down ! if it doesnt dont go. lol

some rooms hold 4 people, your friends cant squeeze you in somewhere. ?

  7. Not sure of your question but I believe you want to avoid the buffet? Just go to the Main Dining Rooms for breakfast & lunch on sea days and for your other dinners. I believe main dining room is open for breakfast on port days so you can do sit down there those days. For lunch on port days the buffet shouldn't be as crowded as a normal day or you can hit Blue Lagoon or O'Sheehan's (not sure what ship you are on).

Thanks, am on the Escape in Dec 9th Sailing.. Not to crazy about Buffets, have heard its great and i'm ok for lunch or even breakfast,, but I do like sit down and being served for dinner,, to top it off we are PIA picky eaters, steak and potatoe, so wasn't sure if i should buy the 3 extra meals PP, i think my husband is going to like Cagneys, and will probably do that twice , who knows, still have time to think about it, just more than anything want weather to be nice

  8. You are still in the height of the summer season. I would be surprised if the price comes down, especially since it is already past final payment.

For what it is worth you don't really need any excursions on that itinerary. If you want beach days you can probably get away with under $200 total for your off the ship expenses.

hate to by debbie downer, by your going to be with friends, partying, having a good time,, either eat it up and spent the money, or just say maybe next time, sucks i know, i'm not going to dec. and because of $$, maybe will have to pass also

  9. I am concerned about eating, B L & Dinner.. we have 3 free dining , which i think I'm eating , Steak Le Celliars , French Le Bistro and Italian Le Celliars,, now as far as other 4 nites, I'm wondering , we are wheelchair bound, so really don't plan on any excursions , so just want to relax , few drinks and eat comfortably without worrying about sitting ,, do was contemplating on if i should buy another 3 dinner meal pkg.. Any opionions,,, Help please

  10. Here's my ranking of preferred restaurants. Note that some aren't included on the meal plan/have an additional upcharge if you do decide to use one of your meals there. I have not tried Teppenyaki, so it's not on the list.

    Bayamo (not included)

    Pinchos (not included)

Food Republic (not included...we preferred it for lunch, anyway, and gladly paid the upcharge)

    Cagneys

    Le Bistro

    Moderno

La Cucina (definitely have to be picky to get worthwhile food there. Not everything is good)

    Distant bottom:

Margaritaville (I cannot believe they charge for the food there)

O'Sheehans (will do for a late night snack, but otherwise, I've never been impressed by anything there. But hey, it's free and a good option to have when you don't feel like dressing for dinner or you are pickled at midnight)

On our next cruise, we'll have the three meal plan, plus two platinum dinners. So we'll choose:

    Cagneys and Moderno for Platinum

Cagneys, Le Bistro, Bayamo upcharge for meal plan

We'll throw La Cucina in if Cagney's is booked up and we can't get in for a second meal (highly likely). Teppanyaki just isn't our thing. We love asian food, but don't love teppanyaki restaurants. I know many love it.

We have the 3 specialty dining, so what do you mean by Platinum dinners ?

  11. Just got off the Escape two weeks ago. Did six nights of specialty dining. Three at Cagney's (our favorite) and one each at Bayamo, Moderno and Teppanyaki. Loved them all! Didn't have a chance to try Food Republic, but plan to try it next year on our Escape cruise to Bermuda.

this sounds just like something i would like , except want to get the french and italian and moderno , however, doing this , than you miss the shows at supper club or manhattan room,, is that correct ?

  12. When sailing NCL, we always fly into Fort Lauderdale with Southwest and then take SAS Transportation to Miami (very reasonably priced). We fly in a day ahead of our cruise and usually stay in Miami. SAS will pick you up at the airport and take you to your hotel.

we fly into fll , the day of the cruise , we arrive in FLL at 9:10 am , do u know what time the transportation picks u up and brings u to the ship ?
