  1. A little aside about the plane The DeHavilland Beaver was manufactured (about 1000 total) from 1947 to 1967. Used mainly as a bush plane, eqipped with std wheels, retractible skis or floats. The US military bought about 100, mostly army L-20, primary use air evacuation. The Air Force had 10, which were deployed to the US radar sites in Canada, known as the Pinetree Line, primarily for use in emergency air evacuation. Most of the sites, ours included, were not accessible by road. My wife was evacuated to a hospital in March 1957 on one of these planes. So they have been around for a long time....

On Seth Wayne’s live broadcast today in regards to using the Hal Navigator app the IT’s on the broadcast stated Docs for these early cruises will soon be able to download.

Interesting that many of us were not able to download the new Navigator App due to a problem. You can’t make this stuff up!

I don't Facebook, so I don't attend the briefing. I have found Navigator to be worthless unless you are on a ship/cruise....

  3. IMPORTANT NOTIFICATION:
This notification is to advise that your assigned check in time for your
upcoming voyage has been assigned or has changed. Please take a moment to
review and print the boarding pass page in your documents from Online Check In
or update your electronic boarding pass in our Navigator app on your phone or
tablet to present to our staff at check in.

Received this this morning. (For 7/31 Alaska) Nothing new in Boarding page. Maybe on the 13th....

Just tried logging in @3:38pm ET.....Getting this after entering credentials:

    WE'LL BE RIGHT BACK

Our site is currently down for scheduled maintenance.
We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

The notice was nice. I didn't get it...

  5. Reqrets and good thoughts to all who have been affected by all of this!

Fortunately, we are in the exact oppsite position. We enjoy Trans Atlantics; this will be our 23rd. And now the added excitement of a Maiden (Inaugural) Voyage just adds to it..

The TA on 20 Oct is not showing up on the HAL website either.

I think that is because it is "sold out".

EDIT: Another CCer just got an email that indicated that in fact the TA will be the first. His 10 day + TA collector was cancelled and he was rebooked on just the TA...

I think we should see how this actually goes on  7/24 and 7/31 before jumping to conclusions on how we think it may go.  They know people are flying and driving in from all over.  They must be factoring all of this in because even a transfer or Taxi from Airport/Hotel, etc. can get delayed in traffic, etc.

Also, want to add that all of us going on the first Cruise (especially) have to be prepared to just go with the flow or they shouldn't be going!

These are on a Saturday. Sure it is Seattle, but not as bad as a weekday. We are driving in from Portland, expect to arrive around noon, park at seattle  cruie parking for the week...

Just wondering how legal and enforceable a contract can be when it is not revealed until long after many folks have already booked a cruise and made payment (consideration) for the promise of a future service.  While I am not a lawyer I do believe it is not generally accepted that one party (to a contract) cannot unilaterally alter a contract after entering into a previous contractual relationships for which there was payment and/or consideration.  Many folks have already booked cruises that are in penalty periods (including 100% of payments) based on the contract that existed at the time they booked the cruise.  For a cruise line to later make substantial changes to the contractual language and coerce folks into agreeing (or else they lose their money) does not sound like an acceptable practice.

You agree to the contract terms when you check in, not when you book....

What am I doing wrong?  I  emailed my OBC request Sunday- no response.  I resent it early this A.M. - no confirmation of email- no response.  I am using email address:  World_Cruise_Reservations@hollandamerica.com.  Is this the address you used?   I will use snail mail if I don't get a response by tomorrow.

Email is not an accepted format for submission....
