  1. On Monday afternoon the Pacific Princess departed San Pedro for Ensenada, Mexico where it remained overnight. Tuesday evening, I noticed that the Pacific Princess had departed Ensenada, Mexico with Hawaii as the destination. Anyone know the purpose of this cruise? As the ship is under a "no sail" order from the CDC could the stop in Mexico be a means of circumventing the do not sail order or is it a normal stop as required by the PVSA? Could this be a corporate holiday for the PCL executives?

I honestly dont trust all those on board credits. Ive heard so many cases when people transferred real cash into those credits and then the company went bankrupt and all these virtual money has dissapeared. I prefer my money here and now to decide what I can do it with it. But in better times this way of customer support has found many fans

    Roger 88,

It seems to me you missed the point. All of the above posts are referencing OBC received because of owning 100 shares of CCL stock. None mention buying OBC with hard cold cash. I do not feel it is prudent to sent CCL any money from your account until CCL can show that they know what to do with what they have already received from us.

  3. You probably would get a better response if you posted this as a response to many of the posts dealing with refunds, FCC and or credit cards

Has anyone received a check for a balance on their stateroom account yet? Any future cruise credit or airfare reimbursement? None of the above for us yet, although I know it's only been slightly over a month. Someone posted the stateroom credit would come in an envelope not marked Princess. I don't think I would have thrown that away....we get so little snail mail as it is. Hope everyone is well,

  4. We just booked 2 cruises on Princess for 2021. First one is a 14 day RT from LA to Alaska and the second is a 14 day Quebec to Ft Lauderdale a few months later also in 2021. I plan on waiting a while (Before final payment is due) before I write Princess and ask "We are both over 70 and I have had type II diabetes for over 25 Years and my Blood sugar is normally about 101. Will you allow us to cruise?" I will ask for a written reply. Maybe by then PCL will be able to establish a consistent policy.

wow Alaska pricing is getting to steep for some.  Wonder why Princess has jacked up prices by so much.  Anybody know the reasoning behind the price hike?

it seems obvious to me that because PCL was so generous with FCC's and not having any income to speak of, they are raising the price to eat up the FCC. Remember, you only have 18 months or so to use it or loose it which in Alaska cruise terms means all of 2020 cruisers +2021 Cruisers need to fit into 1 cruise season. Demand will keep prices high.

Absolutely correct.  But along with rights come responsibilities.  Posting false information such as Princess or the CDC requiring 'Fit to Sail' letters and other misinformation as 'facts' is worse than not being helpful.

The ability to read and not comprehend a post is not a requirement to responding as some of the posters have demonstrated.

I do not see where anyone has claimed that PCL has required a FTS letter as of today. The possibility that PCL might require a "Fit to Sail" letter before allowing a passenger to board a cruise is very real if the passenger has "an underlying, severe, chronic medical condition" and would only be able to receive a FCC for a cruise that they might never be allowed to take. Who decides what the criteria for denying the right to board and would that be before booking?, after final payment?, or at the dock? We will wait for more and clearer information from PCL before we place any of our hard earned funds into their hands.

  7. Well, Princess did make an announcement. They are suspending cruises thru the end of June. Great compensation for the canceled cruises. PCL is willing to give us back 100% of my cruise fare. We hope this includes insurance, fees and taxes. But they did not address the "FTS" letter so they will not be getting another "loan" from us. We could not chance the other option which included a FCC and a bonus 25% for another cruise as they are keeping us in limbo.

  8. This really has gone on long enough. All I am requesting is for Princess to make a statement on weather they will or will not require the FTS letter. It will allow me to make an educated decision on accepting a FCC if they will not be requiring the TFS letter or accepting nothing less than a full cash refund if they will require the FTS letter. I like and want to cruise but I do not wish to donate my funds to PCL if all they can do is provide a FCC and then deny me boarding.

  9. I have diabetes, a recognized result of having been exposed to Agent Orange in the 1968 - 1971 period of my life while serving in S E Asia. It is controlled thru medication (A1C under 6 and Fasting BS average 102). I am also over 70 years old so it is possible that PCL might require a "Fit to Cruise" letter which my doctor will find impossible to sign as the diabetes is a fact and my age will never be less.

I am scheduled to sail on a RT cruise from LA to Alaska on 16 May which we have made final payment. If I cancel I will get a FCC which I might never be able to use. Only if PCL cancels will I (fingers crossed) be able to get my funds refunded. So, the only thing I can do is wait and hope PCL gets off the pot and announces that the cruise is canceled. At this point in time I can not see us booking another cruise with Princess. If there are other options, I surly would like to hear them.

On the Enchanted these are the most forward cabins on decks 9 through 12. It is a large 550 sq ft (Including balcony) 2 section cabin. The balcony may be breezy while underway because of it's location and the slight wrap around to the bow. You have full suite benefits which are shown in the pdf below. These cabins will be quite a walk to certain public sections of the ship. You can see the layout on the deck plans on the Princess web site.

    https://www.princess.com/downloads/pdf/ships/PrincessSuite_eFlyer.pdf

We booked a Penthouse Suite - S4 - on the Enchanted.  Does this type of suite qualify for these amenities? I'm not sure what a Premium suite is.

You deserve it and you will get them all if available.

"Somebody please correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that the 'Fit to Sail' form was only a proposal floated to VP Pence's Corona Virus Working Group.  There is no documentation that the proposal was ever implemented industry wide or even accepted or endorsed by The White House.  (According to USA Today, NCL sent an e-mail out stating they will require a form from the PAX' doctor at boarding.  I see where RCI wants one too for near future sailings during the emergency but nobody's sailing now anyway.  They then stated if a PAX is denied boarding they'll give the PAX a FCC... 🤣)  If you don't hear from Princess that you will need one, then you won't need one.  The only Fit to Sail Form I am aware of that Carnival requires is for PAX who require dialysis."

Daniel, You seem to miss the point. The question is not if PCL has or will cancel a cruise but will they provide a full refund if they require a "Fit to travel letter" and one can not provide one either because that a doctor will not sign it or because the cruiser has one of the underlying conditions considered to put the cruiser at a high risk IAW CDC guidelines. It is these conditions which could stop a cruiser from using their FCC which would then expire at the end of the time frame so generously provided by the cruise lines.

The cruise lines could reduce the anxiety of cruisers who have  paid for a cruise, are awaiting for a formal announcement that their cruise has been canceled and are wondering if they will be able to use a FCC before it expires by announcing that cruises due to sail before (enter date) on (certain cruises)  are canceled and that cruisers over the age of 69 (?) or those with the underlying conditions (letter required from doctor?) will be given the option of full refund to original method of payment or a FCC.

  12. Every day that PCL delays announcing that additional cruises are being canceled increases the odds are that we will not cruise with Princess again. We have sailed with PCL starting in 1985 and have almost 40 cruises. I do not see another if they can not tell us the truth.

"After weeks of allowing cruise ship passengers who were exposed to the coronavirus but had no symptoms to travel home on commercial flights with nothing more than a temperature check, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention reversed course on Sunday.  Cruise companies will now have to charter flights to return passengers to their home cities, the agency said.  They may not use any public transportation or scheduled flights."

So, how many passengers does this effect? The only PCL passengers still on board a ship are those still on the Coral and the 105 or so on the Pacific Princess.
