  1. We are on the July 31 Rotterdam cruise out of Amsterdam. We have an overnight stay in Reykjavik -- which is the first cruise we have taken that stayed in port two days. Is there an onboard time for the first day of a 2-day stay? If we book a night tour that departs the port at 8PM, is there usually an onboard time requirement (curfew) for the first day?
  2. Holland America did a great job taking care of our canceled Volendam cruise (for the most part). We never received the email that contained the instructions on selecting an alternative cruise. After calling several times and sending a couple of emails to Holland America, I read on the Boards about someone calling the general reservation number (vs. the casino number), and this woman took care of it. We received the email within the hour! I was then able to select the alternative cruise we wanted (which is sailing out of Amsterdam on the same day our previous cruise was sailing out of Rotterdam), and our FlightEase flights (perfect flights for this trip) were moved over to our new booking. We were booked in the same category (Vista Suite) and given $400 in OBC. Our casino offer was honored. Yay!!
  3. Apparently, the emails went out on May 13 to those booked on our July 31 Volendam cruise. We did not receive the email... I called HAL and they told me I had to send an email to reservations_submit and that they would then resend the email. I did just that, and received a quick reply stating that they are very busy taking care of cancelations and that my patience would be appreciated. Ugh! All I want is the email... lol
  4. We are also patiently waiting to see the plan... I called HAL earlier today and was told that there was nothing that can be done to rebook until the email arrives.
  5. Thank you for your quick reply and excellent advice!
  6. We are booked on one of the apparent to-be-canceled Volendam cruises out of Rotterdam in July. We booked this cruise using a "Come Back and Play" casino offer, which included a "free" cabin and "free" casino play. It was a deal we couldn't pass up. Now, with the cruise getting canceled, I'm wondering if they will honor this offer when we re-book this cruise? The only reason we booked this cruise was because of the offer (due to the fact that we were just on a HAL cruise in January and we don't normally book two cruises in the same year). Ugh!! Has anyone experienced such a situation?
  7. I found better (and cheaper) flights using the "Change Flight" link on FlightEase after having booked our flights several months ago. I was told that our original ticket costs would be fully refunded to us. Approximately how long does it take for this refund to show up on my credit card? I am curious due to the fact that when I check my documents, it shows the full fare of my previous purchase as a "Cancel Fee." This is a bit worrisome!
  8. I was also in search of the couples pass and ran into the same issue. We are on a 14-day cruise out of Rotterdam in July and I saw the couples pass being offered online a few months ago (for a very reasonable price of $349). I thought I had plenty of time to make that purchase... Well, definitely not the case in that that offer is no longer available. I wonder if HAL canceled that offer for anyone who was successful in purchasing it when it was available...
  9. I initially had problems with Verifly in that it didn't give me a link to upload our vaccination records. After several attempts and lots of research (I couldn't find any helpful information on this), I decided to delete the app and start all over. Once the app was downloaded again, I was able to add our cruise, take our pictures, and the link showed up to upload pictures of our vaccination records. I am very technically saavy and get frustrated by applications that don't work propery or are not user-friendly!! I always think how difficult these situations are for my parents and feel that the companies responsible for developing these applications should put them through more stringent quality tests, especially if they are to be used by those of us considered seniors! (My rant is now done... lol)
  10. Same for me... I went to check for better flights/fares, and was able to book roundtrip nonstop flights (vs. 5 hour layovers each way) while saving approximately $400. Thanks to the OP for the question which led me to do this research. Hitting the "Change Flight" button does not cause your flights to be released.
