Am I safe in assuming that a place called "Crew Drydock" is not a crew only establishment?  (Heading back to Cozumel on a December cruise...)

Yes, they welcome cruise guests!  Enjoy!

  2. Crew Drydock is located in a building across the street from the Puerto Maya Pier area.  They are WONDERFUL!  You have to climb a flight of stair to get in there but the decor inside is beautiful and I have never had a better massage for a great price!

  3. I agree this new muster drill process is preferable to the old "crowd them in for 30 minutes" in-person format.   Very few people in the prior in-person muster drill process paid attention to the videos and crew instructions.   I'm sure the same people will do their "time" viewing the videos and checking in at their muster stations.   Same as on airplanes.   I have a lot of disaster management experience and know the most important thing is to be able to follow the directions of the crew.  (Yes, I watch the video every time and pay more attention than most passengers.)

  4. I tried to call this afternoon but the announcement said calls may have up to a 40 minute wait time.  My guess is they are inundated with people who have question about today's notices of itinerary changes.  I'm cool with the changes on my itinerary but want to know if they will still honor the port price I paid for an Alcove that is now scheduled for a  Sea Day.

  5. I continue to stand by my standard practices of avoiding infections on board, including Norovirus and COVID by:

    • Bringing disinfectant wipes on board to wipe down all hard surfaces in the stateroom upon arrival.
    • Consider every hard surface on ship (and everywhere else) as contaminated.  Thus, no touching of face, eyeglasses or hair until I either use hand sanitizer or thoroughly wash my hands.

I am a health care professional and consider cruising no more dangerous (regarding infections) than flying or any other public venue.

    Hope this allays some fears.

  6. I always sail Concierge.   Yes, the canape's are meh.  The perks I enjoy:

    • Embarkation Day lunch in the MDR.  I know they have moved this to the first Sea Day, which is a disappointment to me.
    • Welcome bottle of bubbly or vino.   We like asking our Steward for this perk to enjoy Sail Away from our balcony.
    • Cabin location mid-ship.
    • Occasional special "Concierge-only" sailaways on the helipad or other special event.
    • The Concierge-only lounge on Disembarkation Day.  It's a quiet place away from the crowds, with coffee, tea and pastries to send us off.
    • Having other passengers ask why our Sea Pass cards are gold, lol!

  7. I, too, check several times a day for our November 20th Reflection cruise.  Still waiting for Celebrity to notify us of the itinerary changes.  In question at the moment are Key West and Grand Cayman.  I know we will probably get a sea day in lieu of Grand Cayman, but Key West.....?

  8. I have the same problem for our November 20th cruise.  I called Celebrity and was advised to use Microsoft Edge (which I have) or the app.  Neither will allow me to sign the contracts in the space described.

My guess is with the poster who reported they haven't removed Grand Cayman from the itinerary.  That should come soon and I anticipate being able to check in until 60 days from the cruise.

  9. I like a variety of adult beverages on board ship.  Just a hint with the Premium package:  ask for your choice of name brand beverage (i.e. Tito's, Belvedere or Grey Goose) for your mixed drink.  Otherwise, they will use a call brand.

Looking forward to morning mimosas and introducing my new husband to a Miami Vice at the Sunset Bar in November!

  10. I've been to both resorts.  Nachi is nice if you want quiet peace and great food.  Mr. Sancho's is great to party with a group of your friends and the swim-up bars are larger than at Nachi Cocum.

I still have a bad taste in my mouth from the massage experience at Nachi Cocum.  The hut where they do the massages has three tables.  While my friend and I were there, naked under our sheets,  the third table was taken by someone we didn't know.  Add to that embarrassment, the constant coming and going and chatter from the man selling the massages.  It didn't matter what state of undress was being worked on; he came in with no knock and started barking at the therapists.   Altogether, parts of my nudity were seen by three guests, three massage therapists, the man selling massages, and everyone outside who could see us when the door was open.  Did I mention the AC was on too high it was freezing in there?

The massage therapists at Mr. Sancho's are WONDERFUL.

Both resorts are really great...choose the right one for you and yours!

  11. According to the Celebrity website this morning:

    Western Caribbean
On your own tours are permitted in Roatan and Cozumel. Excursions provided by Celebrity Cruises are required in Nassau and Costa Maya.

Mr. Sancho's, here we come!  (November 2021)

  12. With all of the talk about masks, how about a discussion of passenger compliance with hand hygiene?   Door knobs, elevator buttons, railings, plastic-covered menus,....I consider every hard surface as contaminated and use hand sanitizer/wash hands frequently.   I've been doing this BEFORE Covid, when Norovirus was the biggest health concern of cruising.   Sadly,  on every cruise I've ever sailed, I witnessed too many passengers refusing the hand sanitizer offered at restaurant entrances, the casino and other on board venues.

    Just a thought....

  13. We want to go to Mr. Sancho's in Cozumel.  If we sailed Royal Caribbean, we could go on our own via taxi, because RC allows independent excursions, versus Celebrity's requirement for cruiseline-only excursions.   Thus we now have the choice to pay $250+ for Celebrity private car excursion to anywhere we want to go in Cozumel (i.e. Mr. Sancho's) OR Playa Mia via Celebrity.

I hope Celebrity will change their policy to match their owner company RC.
