  1. There will be no pineapples on our door magnet for our next cruise!  Zazzle helped me create a tastefully subtle magnet with our preferred names and noting our anniversary.

No "garden gnomes" or "flamingos" here!

  2. The above posters are correct.  Go to your stateroom, pick up your SeaPass card, drop off your bags, then head to the Main Dining Room for the Concierge luncheon.  It usually goes from 11:30 to 1:00 on Embarkation Day.

Next, if you purchased any Specialty Dining Plans, go to a Specialty restaurant to make your reservations.  Then, check in at your Muster Station (after you watch the video on the Celebrity app--we do this the morning of the cruise before we board).

Then, head to a bar to upgrade your beverage package (if you don't want to be charged extra beyond the Classic $9 a glass limit and want to enjoy the Martini Bar).

    Finally, enjoy Sail Away!

  3. Thank you to the poster who reported an off-menu Creme Brulee' martini in the Martinin Bar!

My DH and I were on the Reflection last November.  It was his first cruise, and he enjoyed Miami Vices, Mudslides, and the martinis in the Martini Bar.   Although I am a seasoned Celebrity cruiser, I finally discovered the Strawberry Fields beverage in the World Class Bar.  The only ingredient I remember is the whipped egg white topping the drink.   Can't wait to have another one when we sail next February!

  4. I was asked to change our cabin on a RC cruise back in 2019.  I agreed for the $200 on board credit.  BIG mistake.  I had pre-purchased a lot of things on the cruise planner, like ship tours, wine tastings, spa visits, etc.  It took a lot of work on board ship to get those purchases changed to my new stateroom number.   Luckily,  I befriended RC's F&B manager the first day and he was a huge help with resolving most of the challenges incurred by the room change.

Best of luck to you getting cabins near each other.

I just booked a cruise in Concierge Class. Do you receive the sparkling wine every day? I assume it's left in your cabin with 2 glasses and the canapes, or am I wrong?

You get one bottle of sparkling wine upon request.  Your cabin steward will also bring wine glasses upon your request.  If you don't like sparkling, you may request a red or white wine instead.  We like the sparkling to drink on the balcony at sea....so relaxing!

  6. The RC Website reported there is a dedicated tram at the Arrival area of the pier to take Beach Club pass purchasers directly to the Beach Club. On Labadee, we had to ask for the tram or take the main one.   Does anyone here have experience with this to explain the process?

  8. Regarding show reservations, you used to be able to make show reservations in advance via Cruise Planner on the RC site.  Now, as I understand it, you can make show reservations on board via the RC App or at the onboard box office.

In my past experience with the Key, special hours were reserved on the Flow Rider, zipline, etc. for Key holders.  The days/hours will be delivered to your stateroom when you cruise.  No reservation needed.

I love The Key for all of its perks and I hope you enjoy them too!

  9. Celebrity stewards do several towel animals in your stateroom, but not every night.  The showers in the bathrooms have sliding doors instead of shower curtains.  This leaves a little extra room in your luggage because you won't need to pack as many clothes pins for the shower.  I bring a few just to close the cabin curtains.

Cloth towels in the public restrooms are another Celebrity plus.

No upsell of shot glasses or other kitschy stuff while dining in the Celebrity MDR.

If you have the beverage package, you don't have to repeatedly sign for EVERY drink like the Cheers package requires.

Lots of little touches that bring Celebrity way above the Carnival experience.

I think you will LOVE Celebrity!

  10. We were on the Reflection cruise last Thanksgiving as well.  We did the Alcoves on a port day and all they played was a repeat/looping extreme sports video.  It got boring really fast.  Neither my DH nor best friend really appreciated what the Alcove was about.

If you want to chill out in a quiet place to sit, the Alcove is for you.  I've done Alcoves twice and probably won't do that again.  It's a great experience to try.

Known as Black pudding in UK, but it is made of blood.

I never have it served on an English breakfast.

Thank you!  I had a senior moment when I posted this morning.  Perhaps it was another darker-colored breakfast item I was recalling.  LOL!

  12. The Oceanview Cafe' on Celebrity serves MUCH better food than Carnival!  I especially enjoy the different types of bacon offered at breakfast:  American, Canadian and English!  I LOVE English bacon!  The also offer breakfast choices of different nationalities.  You will be surprised and delighted with such choices as baked beans, blood pudding, Indian foods, Asian foods and more.

In addition, the lunches and dinners are often "themed" for different nationalities each day of the cruise.  On our Thanksgiving cruise last year, the Oceanview had the best carved-to-order turkey I have ever tasted.  Wow, just wow!

Enjoy the Silhouette, she's a great ship!

  13. I always place a personalized magnet on our cabin door because my DH and I prefer to be called by nicknames which aren't on our SeaPass cards.   It really helps the cabin steward get to know us better.  Just one small magnet, which is tasteful for Celebrity standards.

  14. Agreed!  7288 is a great cabin on the starboard rear hump.  Extra balcony space and Concierge status.  Concierge will get you:

    • Complementary dining in the MDR on Embarkation Day (nice alternative to the usual buffet crowds)
    • Complementary bottle of wine in your cabin
    • Daily canape's (ask for cheese plate instead)
    • Perhaps a surprise invitation to sail away on the helipad from one of your ports
    • Concierge lounge with Continental breakfast on disembarkation day.

  15. My heart and prayers go to all.  I have been crying all afternoon over the loss of Her Majesty. She was the epitome of a servant leader who displayed steadfast grace and strength through her long reign.

    God save the King.
