Cool Cruiser

Cool Cruiser (2/15)

  1. Check with the credit card you booked with - a lot of cards now have included travel insurance. My in laws have had to cancel 2 cruises over the past several years due to medical emergencies and got full refunds from their credit cards including cruise fare and flights. It took a few months to file all necessary paperwork but well worth it.
  2. We went on Oasis with my 4 year old in January. There were a ton of kids on board and AO was very crowded on the first night. After the 1st night, my son was reluctant to go back. I finally figured out the reason he did not want to go back was because there were several crying kids on the first night in the 3-5 year old group. So...my advice for a 5 year old would be to not put them in the kids club on the first night. He enjoyed it more on the other nights he went back. Also, on port days, AO is open all day and will feed your child if that interests you.
  3. On our upcoming Oasis cruise, we have the 3 night specialty dining package which includes 40% off bottles of wine. Do they limit how many bottles you can purchase? We are a group of 4 and thought if we could order 4 bottles, then we could save any extra for the main dining on our other nights.
  4. When does my time dining open on Oasis for walk ups? We have my time reservations at 645 every night, but were wondering if we could go earlier on the nights we have shows.
  5. We are sailing on the Oasis in January and purchased the 3 night dining package. We booked our time for day 2, but Royal picks the restaurant. What restaurants do they pick for the day 1/2 reservations? I figured it should be Giovanni's, Chops, or 150 Central Park, since anything else would either be an upcharge or a la carte pricing (where you only get $20 to spend...). Am I correct in this assumption?
  6. I am in the same boat...pun intended. We are sailing on the Joy 7/10. My son is 3 and I was told kids club would be open June 1st, but was never told the age range was changing. However, I do not think it has anything to do with vaccination status, since vaccines are not required for children under 12. I think it is simply a staffing issue. I called and spoke to a rep at NCL and she just read what was on the website. She had no clue why it was changed and said maybe they are going to update it at a later time. I'm still holding out a little hope they might expand the age group before July.
  7. They are open, but according to the website only for 5-12 and while the ship is sailing. That is not "fully open." I am very disappointed that my 3 year old will not be able to participate considering they kept quoting June 1st. I kept waiting to book our July cruise because of this issue and I knew this might happen, but still extremely bummed about it. And since NCL is not requiring kids 5-11 to be vaccinated, they cannot use the under 5s being unvaccinated as an excuse....Obviously this is still a staffing issue imho.
