  1. I would try the Howler Monkey Sanctuary excursion, it's perfect for the family and the kids would love it. Also you'll be in the shade most of the trip since you're in the forest . We've booked with waytogotoursbelize.com for this excursion. They don't take large groups like the cruise ship, so the experience is way more personalized.

  2. We highly recommend doing it, My Party of 7 took this earlier in January , the drinks were great and so was the music. We did get to see a lot of the city as we drove around and even stopped at the rum factory.

  3. We are sailing in February and we would like to visit the spice farm. I see a less expensive tour offered by Shore Excursioneer but I can find no reviews on it. Has anyone had any luck taking the ferry and going on a tour by a company like Shore Excursioneer?

Yes, instead we did the River Tubing but it sure did worked out!

  4. My kids loved the zoo. Its about 30 miles from Port, a relatively quick drive as compared to other places I've been to. A good company to use would be Waytogotoursbelize . They're trusted and we've used them several times before

  5. I suggest using waytogotoursbelize.com , they have car seat available for kids and does small groups of no more than 12 guests. We always use them for our inland excursions in Belize and are always impressed by their service.

  6. **********UPDATE**********NEW INFORMATION RECEIVED**********

    Dear Friends,

I have just spoken to NCL AGAIN regarding how to get to Placencia from Harvest Caye...this is what they said.

"We just received this email minutes ago. There will be a transportation hub on the Caye where ferries will take guests to Malacate/Placencia. As of right now, we do not have a schedule or pricing information available and probably won't get it. That information should be available onboard while you're there."

This is great news! I called earlier in the day and was told I would have to take an NCL excursion in order to leave the Caye...I was outraged. However, as stated above, they had recently received information on a transportation hub on HC where ferry's/water taxis will be available. I suppose we'll have to wait until onboard to get all of the specifics.

The best snorkeling is no where near HC. Look at some of the dive shops in Placencia as they do some wonderful work and have great diving trips. The reef is roughly 45-60 minutes away by boat. Several Cayes have some amazing snorkeling out there. Find a place you like and contact one of the dive shops and see what they can do for you.

I will be leaving the 11th of November and will update everyone with explicit details and photos.

    Happy Cruising Everyone! :D

Sounds great! Please do update us on how their tendering service to the mainland will work along with the cost. I can't imagine being stuck on the island just because you're not taking an NCL excursion! That's ridiculous

  7. 2 Months ago my family of 13 booked a Private Boat Tour to Shark Ray Alley at Caye Caulker with Way To Go Tours. We had a really good time and were doing things at our own pace, the kids enjoyed the beach after the Snorkeling while some of us rented a Golf Cart and explored the Island for an hour before taking off back to Port.
