  1. Despite what people said with it being far we still went ahead and booked a private excursion there for me and my wife and it turned out to be better than i thought it would. We made it back to Port with 3 hours to spare, we even contemplated about doing the Cave tubing but after all the climbing at the ruins, my wife was tired and just wanted to spend the rest of the day shopping and seeing the city. We booked through waytogotoursbelize.com, I would highly recommend them

  2. I've been looking for a horseback riding excursion and my husband doesn't want to go so it will be just me. I hate to ask this, but......do you know if this ranch is the same one where the anchorwoman was at and was murdered a month or so ago? Or how close to that area this ranch is? Just wondering about the safety aspect.

I don't think so. We were more in Central Belize and that murder took place near the Western Border. I think there's a great distance between the two places so you shouldn't worry, plus your guide will be with you.

  3. How long was the trip to the horses? Also the site states after an hour guided tour you are given an hour to go off on your own. Is this safe? I'm guessing the trails are pretty well marked. About how long was the total excursion and was there anything to do besides what appears to be 2 hours riding?

It took about 45 minutes to get where the horses were at. The area is wired off by barbed wire fences so you pretty much can't get lost. The guided part of the tour we had to exit the fence and venture through a trail that takes you through the forest.

If you ever get tired of riding you could always walk around and sample the different tropical fruits from the trees that were there. Not sure what else was there to do, but you might enjoy doing that.

  4. I've been there once with my family, it's a relatively small zoo located in the forest. The cages there are large and sometimes it takes some patience for some of the animals to come around. I like that the animals are in semi simulated habitats and are all native to Belize. The must see are the Jaguar and Crocodiles! But i say the black jaguar takes this one!

We had the option to catch a cab from the Port area to the bus terminal and then take the public to mile 29, but instead We booked a private tour through waytogotoursbelize.com for the comfort of my family.

All in all it was a great experience, and i do recommend it for people of all ages!

  5. I would not snorkel in here, based on your group description. Any decent snorkeling is off shore, in deep water that is often murky because of stirred up sand. In addition there is usually a nice chop that is very frustrating to experience snorkelers, and impossible to over come for the inexperienced.

If you are going to Roatan that is where you ant to snorkel, specifically from somewhere on the west end of the island. The reef is no more than 50 feet off shore, the water is calm, and wildlife is abundant.

Belize has the BEST Snorkeling. The water NEAR the shore is murky but the water OFF shore surrounding the Islands are NOT. Not all waters are deep, there are areas around Goff's Caye, Bannister Island, Sergeant's Caye just to name a few that the water is pretty shallow. I have snorkeled at many locations in Belize and the water is always clear UNLESS, there is a bad weather approaching.

They are known for having the largest living Barrier Reef, if there's one place you'd want to Snorkel, Belize should be #1`place on the list.

  6. For your Altun Ha excursion I would recommend going with waytogotoursbelize.com . They give you the best for your time and money. I'm impressed with this company and their versatility of tours and how they cater much towards their customers satisfaction. I've used them more than once most recently on the Glory which i just got back off of today

  7. Nice, hats off to Vitalino Reyes. The first time I visited Belize it was only him running the company. He had one car and he always made sure he treated his guests good. Last I was there he now has a fleet of vehicles, it just goes to show that if you put in good work, you get something good back! Great Review.

  8. Yes .but none offer a private your and in fact Ive email 2 with no response multiple times

It probably would be easier for you to rent a boat to get there if you are looking to do it privately. You can Email wtg_792@hotmail.com we've used Travis before for boat rentals, they will also provide you with a Boat Captain and guides depending on group size.

  9. I don't get why you people keep using these middlemen to book your excursions. It's simply someone who created a site and used marketing tools to sell tours to the actual tour operators in Belize. The reputability lies in the company which they are pawning you off to. Some companies in Belize to do this excursion are EcoToursBelize, CoralBreeze Tours, and SplashWave Tours just to name a few.
