  1. 9100 is a terrible balcony. It is cut off on a diagonal to accomodate the suite next to it. There are pictures showing it if you search.

In the buffet area there are round glass windows in the floor that do allow passenger to look thru the deck. If they wanted to they can look directly to some of the balconies below them.

Just about any cabin on deck 9 will be subject to some kind of noise from above.

We had 9072 and could hear the movement of deck chairs early in the morning. The large overhang was nice as it protectected us from the elements.

Thanks for your feedback. That eliminates one choice. This picture shows the cleaning machine by 9104(3rd balcony in). Hoping it's not located in that spot whenever not in use. We have so many openings on deck 9 to chose from. Lyn

  2. Hoping someone can give me information on stateroom 9104. I checked the M-Class Cabin Information thread and can't find anything. We love the mid ship location but by checking pictures can't tell if people in seaside café are looking directly at our balcony. Also, in a picture it looks like the cleaning machine is stationed partially in front of that balcony. 9100 to 9116 are all available and 9068 and 9070 open. Any advice?

    Thanks,

    Lyn

  3. We are doing the 12 person. What excursions have you picked for the other ports? St. Maarten is busy with 5 ships so looking for something there as well as St. Kitts. We love to snorkel.

We are also doing the 12 person. We were on the 12 person last month and it was the best. With our drink package on the ship and having just been to St Kitts we will probably hang on the ship by the pool. In St Kitts you can contact the St Kitts Marriott for a day pass. It's 35 per person and gives you use of the beach with chairs, the pool and facilities. If you opt to do that I would e-mail them soon to make sure you can still get in. St Maarten is still up in the air for us. It is really a great port. On past cruises we've been to Orient Beach, done a few catamarans through the ship, and also walked to the beach across from the ship. In St Maarten, the Equinox and Adventurer both are scheduled to arrive at 8am, Oceana 8am ,the Pacific Princess 9am and Azura 9am. I'm thinking we will go to the beach next to the ship or Orient Beach. We really enjoy the beach, water and sun , so 2 chairs, an umbrella and a few beers on the beach are so nice. After going on the Silver Moon catamaran, the ship catamaran excursions(even though it's still very good) are not even close to the Silver Moon experience. I was just in Celebrity's website. The Golden Eagle cat is 4 hrs and is one of the better ship excursion catamarans we've been on. They have a few snorkeling sites, drinks and a great time. Only 20 more days!!!!

  4. Well I did it. I booked the Equinox. I sure hope I like an ocean view. I will miss the balcony but would miss the 1500 dollar difference even more :). Thanks for all the help. Now to meet someone on our cruise on the boards and plan shore excursions.

If you like catamarans Silver Moon out of Barbados is the best. They may be sold out if your going next month. It's for either 12 or 24 passengers only. It's a private excursion (not through the cruise line)but they pick you up at the pier and drive 5 minutes to their catamaran. 1st class all the way!

  5. Just back from Equinox and dined in Blu every night since we were in a sky suite. We now swear we'll never sail in anything less than AQ, just for Blu. Food was in a whole other league - like a speciality restaurant every night. Met wonderful friends there and ended up sitting at a table for eight in Blu every night with our new cruise mates!

That's exciting to hear! Really looking forward to trying Aqua!

  6. If you always wanted to try Aqua, then you probably should. You are going to hear opinions from two AQ camps here - The 'We love AQ' camp; and, the 'We don't care for AQ[*]' camp. I'm in the latter camp :) And once you try it, you are probably going to be part of one of these two camps. But, don't you really wanna be part of one of these two camps? So, what are you waiting for?

[*] - this is more like the "Heck yea, I'll take AQ if the price is right and the cabin location doesn't suck" camp.

Great advice! We always wanted to try Aqua and being $150 per person cheaper than C1 this is a perfect time to try it.

We have a great C1 balcony this January so Aqua next January is exciting.

  7. Can anyone tell us what kind of seating is on the Constellation Aft balconies? Table and chairs? lounge chairs? padded? Thanks

still looking at google pics. some pics have padded chairs some don't. I know in 2008 they were padded. Anyone know if they changed that. Thinking of booking aft balcony on Constellation.

  8. Castaways, north of Jolly Beach Resort.

make sure you tell your driver Castaways at Jolly Beach. 20 Cruises and it was one of our favorite beaches...simply beautiful!

  9. I see that Rendezvous is only 5 minutes from pier (that's a plus - saves time and taxi dollars) but literally right behind the airport runway. Can you hear the planes there? Maybe there aren't too many? It's also in a public beach area. Were there many vendors? Since the reviews here seem to be good, I'm guessing neither vendors or planes are an issue? Just curious as I try to tuck away some idea of what to do here if there's a next time on another cruise. (We loved the Victory so much I am thinking there will be a next time)

    Hi,

There is a public beach further up but for $50 (5 hrs)you have everything. The ships excursions are nice but this price blows them away. We are beach and sun people. That's our top priority at every port. During 19 cruises this was the best day I can remember. The pools are very nice and you are looking out at the water or you sit on the beach(chairs, umbrella, towells and drink service included). You put your flag in the sand and they take your drink order. A real nice lunch with wine and a nice covered outdoor area with bar if you want to sit and chill. Remember it's an all inclusive. You need a reservation to get in. Do it online and take a copy with you. There is no charge or credit card involved with making the reservation. It was the best $100 cash We've spent!! A great time!

  10. We went to Rendezvous on Jan. 19, 2010 and I was surprised to learn that the day pass had gone up to $50 per person. I was still operating under the illusion from CC threads that it was $38! Whoops! Considering that we took our time getting there, it was quite expensive for four hours. But oh it was lovely! An excellent lunch buffet and an open bar, quiet, and not many people. Tall palms provide wonderful shade--no umbrellas needed.

If you decide to go, get there as early as you can to get your money's worth.

The taxi was $10 each way for a five-minute ride.

    Hi,

We are scheduled to go there on our cruise. Is the taxi 10 per person each way?

Is it walking distance and a safe walk?

    Thanks!

  11. From other posts here: taxi from port to Jolly Beach is $18 for 4 people, one way, about 20-min. drive. Chair rental - $5, umbrella - $10. Jet ski rental $35 for half hour. Castaways Restaurant there. Can get onto the beach by the marina or Cocobay Resort.

Jolly Beach Resort there has a day pass - all inclusive food & drink - $60 (10:15 a.m. on). Do a search for "Jolly Beach Resort" for details.

    Thanks!

  12. Thinking of going to Jolly Beach for the day. Does anyone know the cost of 2 chairs and an umbrella? Is there a better part of the beach to go to for food and drinks? Also the cost of a taxi from the cruise terminal?

    Thanks!
