  1. Thanks folks. It really helps to hear what others have done as it give me something to investigate.

No one ever says much about Grenada. I wonder if that is because not as many cruise stops there or what. I'm also concerned about the rebuilding of St Maarten. We were supposed to go there on a cruise when the hurricane hit. I've read a bit and still not sure if you can get all the way around the island or not. Sad.

    Thanks again.

We went on a great tour in Grenada. I can’t remember the name of the company but I can find it for you. They took us to a cocoa bean plantation and a rum distillery among other things. The only problem with it was that my wife got terrorized by some kind of insects. By the time we got back to the ship she was covered in bug bites. The next day we were in St. Kitts and the only thing we were able to do there was search the port area for calamine lotion. She was miserable!

  2. There are NO outlets by the beds. The only strip of outlets are under the mirror on the opposite side of the room. Luckily we brought a power strip and a 9 foot extension cord. It would have been better if we had brought a longer extension, but the 9 foot worked. Hope this is helpful for future travelers. We had a mini suite, mid ship.

But you did know about the USB ports by the bed, right? I assume the only reason you would need an outlet there these days is to charge a phone or tablet.

  3. Doug has too many sailings on the horizon and may have consequences if he decides to live-post for some of them.

I was asking for selfish reasons this time because I’m on that cruise and would love to empty some kegs with Doug in DB2. But I hear you Sue. Thanks for sharing your vacations with us. We are lucky that you are willing to put up with Doug’s late night live reports. Or maybe we’re just lucky that you usually have an early bedtime.

  4. To be fair I was champ at most things [emoji23]

No offer of a growler on this occasion although I have one and a pint glass from the Escape so not too fussed. It was more for the glory. All beers available with exception to the three $20 chimay’s consumed on the trip. 63 different beers consumed on the trip (inc the beers in port in Halifax)

63! Nice job. Forget the growler they should give you an honorary keg!

  5. I saw one of the scales for the waterslides and couldn’t resist. Oh my!

How much Doug? I think I gained 10 pounds on a cruise once and that was only 7 nights. I imagine on a cruise this long you can do some serious damage!

  6. Hey Doug inquiring beer drinkers want to know...was there no DBH competition on this cruise? I think you would have mentioned it by now if there were. Have you had a go-to beer or have you just been mixing it up based on what’s available?

  7. Am I the only future Bliss passenger worried about this? This is a half empty ship that is out of (most) beer? Is this normal?

No you're definitely not the only one. I'm assuming that they underestimated the amount of beer consumption on this cruise because it was only 70% full (didn't they know that Doug would be onboard?). But they seemed to start running out of things very early. The same thing happened when I was on the Escape last year. It was only a couple of things that ran out, but it was very early in the cruise.

  8. From the NCL FAQ page:

Children turning three (3) years old during the cruise are welcome to register and participate on their birthday.

Children turning six (6) years old during the cruise are welcome to register for and participate in the 6-9 year old age group beginning embarkation evening.

Children turning ten (10) years old during the cruise are welcome to register for and participate in the 10-12 year old age group beginning embarkation evening. Sign in and out privileges* only apply after the child turns 10 years old.

Children turning thirteen (13) years old during the cruise are welcome to register for and participate in the Entourage Program beginning embarkation evening.

    Have a great trip!

Thanks so much kitkat! That’s the news I was hoping for. Now let’s hope it doesn’t change again before October. [emoji38]
