    Think auto correct got you.

Not sure about "auto correct" but the fact is that we have come home sick from MSC cruises 33% of the time.  All in all, our record of sickness returning from all cruises in general is 20%.  Factor out MSC and that percentage drops drastically.  MSC sincerely needs to monitor crew health, and pay salary them to stay in their cabins when coughing or with fever.

  2. If MSC  cares to rebuild confidence is it's cruise brand, it should implement strick staff monitoring of any illness, elevated temperature or coughing, and offer its crew paid time off to protect the passengers from any potential illness.  Only that will re elevate MSC's brand in the passenger shipping market.

  3. Having been on Meraviglia this year, we can confirm that there were crew members coughing while serving.  This was, and should never be acceptable.  MSC should monitor their crew daily to prevent the crew from spreading illness.  If that would require temperature monitoring continuously it would definitely be worthy of the effort.

I would not have ever considered spending what a Yacht Club suite would cost unless I did not find a really good price, even as a solo cruiser.  My cruise was that first one of Meraviglia after New Year's.  I have found that time to be an excellent time to book a cruise at that time of year at an exceptional price that differs from the usual High Season Fares.  Such a cruise in YC may be more affordable than you might expect.

Thanks for that.  Please let us know next time you have found a great value on MSC.  Our last cruise on Meraviglia, having been MSC afficionadoes for over a decade, Meraviglia was quite a disappointment.

Upthread is an email address for voyagers club that worked.

The email I sent has not been answered, that is why I have asked anyone for a phone number that connects directly to Voyagers Club, as one said, they solved the problem over the phone.  When I call the MSC USA number, 877-665-4655, I get long hold times and forwarded to others who cannot correct the problem.  Very frustrating.

  6. Sorry to hear that yet another customer has to deal with the incompetence of MSC's customer service.  This has been a problem for years.  Even now with new top brass at MSC USA they have yet to remedy their growing pains.  Once it took me four months to get a refund of my deposit on a legally cancelled cruise, only after lodging a dispute through my credit card company.  Hopefully this will work out for the OP without additional 45 minute hold times.

You will get more by calling. - mine were updated after 72 hours.

I called yesterday (usa)  and was put on hold, transferred, put on hold, hold, hold....then transferred to booking.  The polite lady told me I was transferred because no one was working in Voyagers Club!  She was unable to resolve two missing cruises, and said there was no supervisor?  Perhaps I should try calling Canada, do you have a direct number for VC?

By "original product" are you referring to the loyalty program or the on board experience?

MSC's North American (on board) experience has been greatly "americanized", and their original old world charm has been lost, at least on the sailings out of Florida.  No longer are we allowed to linger at dinner in the MDR, or see a seven course menu.  Most lately, on Meraviglia even the music venues have been greatly reduced.  I understand that MSC is in business to make money, and they won our loyalty early on with an exceptional product.  However, of late, there is little to set the Florida sailings apart from any other mainstream mass-market cruise line, except maybe the Yacht Club.

All loyalty programs have an expiration date – it's the fine print where it says that the program may be changed or terminated without notice.

Despite the apologists for MSC, it is still true that the dissolution of the old Black Card memberships was a travesty not to be forgotten.

I sometimes read how difficult it is to be served due to long lines at the bars.  Does someone have advice on the best bar to to get quick service?  Any chance of just walking up and getting a drink without much wait?

No, it is all about supply and demand, and varies from bar to bar.  Just be patient without being angry, maybe find a favorite spot and tip extra.  The staff is working hard, but will remember you.
