I was told they were partially covered. Just like the Caribbe deck on the Emerald,, ruby, etc
Thanks. I appreciate your response.
I would love love to see pictures if anyone has them.

Does anyone have pictures from one of these cabins? Does anyone know for sure if the balconies are fully covered, partially covered or uncovered? Thanks.

Hello, just sailed on the Royal. Was very surprised about the library. There were only 6 books of which 5 were non-English. I know a lot of people read books on their tablets now (I still like to hold and read a book). Are all the libraries “bookless” now? I have a 15 day and 28 day cruise coming up and hope the library is better stocked on the Emerald!
It depends on the ship. In my experience, most ships have very few books. However, I was on the Regal in November and there were a lot of brand new books in the library. There were many good choices and I couldn’t read enough. Later, I read someone post that Princess can’t keep the library stocked because the books disappear as fast as they stock them. Perhaps this is what happened when they started the honor system rather than having a crew member check books out. If this is the case it’s sad.

Does anyone know if they have a plain fat free yogurt?
Yes, but it’s regular. Not Greek.

To the OP, I recommend that you bring your own children’s books.
For everyone else, I want to share my recent experience. I was recently on the Regal and they had many new books. By many I mean that most of the cabinets had books on all the shelves. The new books were mostly all softcover and current popular writers. Usually it’s difficult to find something. This time it was difficult to choose because there were a lot of choices. This and new beds were very pleasant surprises. Princess listened.

I started this thread awhile back and wanted to come back to share my experience. I just got off the Regal yesterday and I’m happy to say that I had a new mattress. Thank you, Princess. I had a deluxe balcony on Dolphin deck. My friends had an inside cabin on Riviera and they had a new mattress, too. I thought most people had them, but I just read post on another non-CC forum where many complained that they had old mattresses. I do want to say that the mattress base under the plush top was a lot firmer than those I’ve had on other ships, but I decided it was because the mattress was so new. It wasn’t broken in yet. I slept very well and I need a soft mattress. I have, in the past, been an extremely harsh critic of the Princess beds, so these new beds make me happy. 💖

Yes. I did the 14 day summer solstice cruise 3 years ago. Beautiful scenery every day. I love fjord cruising. I would love to go back. I never bothered with the tax refund.

So, I was on the Grand Princess a few years back and the actual little tiles were broken out on the bathroom floor and they stuck to the bottom of my feet. I don’t think I took pictures of that. I’m not worried about the grout.

I sure hope they'll have the new beds installed on deck 8 by Thanksgiving. Their rock hard beds is the only thing I hate about Regal Princess. I have a bad back problem and couldn't sleep for a week during our first cruise with them, because I was in so much pain. In 2017 we got lucky with a sofa sleeper in a Deluxe Balcony room. Would you believe it - a sofa sleeper was more comfortable than a regular bed!!!!
I have had many painful and sleepless nights on Princess prior to the new beds which is why I hope I will be blessed with a new mattress before my cruise. Keeping my fingers crossed! 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Hi there! For any of you who wanted an update, Captain Tim Stringer informed us during the 9/21/19 sailing that the new "Princess Luxury Bed" mattresses would begin being installed on the 9/28/19 sailing and thereafter. I'm not sure how long it would take but I'm sure they'd try to get those beds in as fast as possible. I saw an Instagram post or story that showed a picture of the mattresses coming in, but I can't find it anymore for some reason (I'll try to link it if I can find it). Hope this helps!
Thanks. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Princess used to sell little needlepoint kits, but it’s been a couple years or more since I’ve seen one. They have scheduled get togethers for crafters in the mornings. I never get going early enough to join in.

I wish Princess would do a better job Stopping all the chairs hogs. 😡 I’m tired of getting up at 5:00 a.m. and all the chairs by the pool are taken.
Maybe you should take a garbage bag and gather up everything that’s sitting on the chairs and then set the bag off to the side.

I wish for:
*** Comfortable balcony furniture like they used to have.
*** Couches in all cabin categories.
*** I agree about no flashing lights in shows.
*** A way to review my booking confirmation online (if it’s there I can’t find it.)
*** Start stocking books in their libraries again.
*** Agree with previous post about reimagining the promenade deck area more like NCL’s waterfront.
*** Interactive television on all ships.
*** New beds on the Regal before my next cruise. 😜

1. Change the service in the buffets to being served cafeteria-style like on HAL as opposed to the buffet with people touching food. Could help a lot with Noro.
I’ve stopped cruising on HAL because of their buffet plan, so I hope you don’t get your wish.

If you go to the Princess website you can sign up to receive offers. And at the very bottom of the page on the left hand side there is "OneSource", if you click on it you can see promotions, which members also post in this forum.
I have signed up to receive offers numerous times. I have cruised with Princess since the 70’s. I have 3 cruises booked with them right now. They just never send me anything.

Can you still pre-purchase a dining package? I did that once when I didn’t get it with my booking. It was more reasonable than paying the designated prices. I wouldn’t pay $46 out of pocket. I really enjoyed the salad bar last year, but the meat has too much salt and seasoning for me. I eat some, but not a lot. Everyone has different taste, though.

Received an email for Elites that allows the booking of new cruises a day or 2 before they are open to the public.
This one was for the Caribbean and New England 2 days ago.
Thanks. Princess doesn’t send me anything. I guess that’s why I don’t know what it is.

What is the “elite booking window “ ? Just curious.

We just returned from the Regal at the end of August and the Captain announced that the new beds would begin to be placed on the ship after the transatlantic and during the Florida cruises.
Thanks for this. I’m on the repositioning cruise from NY to FLL. Maybe we’ll be getting them on my cruise. I can always hope! 🤞

Sky Princess Dolphin Deck Aft Cabins D701-D710
in Princess Cruises

These cabins are regular balcony cabins with extended balconies. I found this exterior picture which, I believe, shows that the balcony is indeed half covered. As previously stated, this would be similar to Caribe balconies on some
of the older ships.
