It will be difficult to find a pre boarding test in NYC due to high level of covid cases in NYC residents are having lots of problem trying to find testing.

If you are sailing on anthem out of cape liberty you may want to book testing at the cruise terminal, expensive but I have heard airports and other places in NYC are charging alot more than $100 pp

    Check this out

Wow, $150 each for this test. Are you aware that Walgreens offer tests for free. Just need to book a drive thru appointment and fill out the online form. Hire a taxi to drive you thru...Way cheaper than at the pier. Also, there are quite a few Walgreens near Bayonne.

  2. I still haven’t heard if anyone has used FCC to upgrade yet, there was a box when bidding that said I want to use FCC for my bid. I clocked it as I have a ton! Hoping it works so I won’t be out of pocket but I’m prepared to be out of pocket as well.

Does that ton of FCC expire?? Ours all expires Dec. 31/2021..

Neither person told me that refunds would be available beginning May 15. In fact both of them stated no refunds until “at least July”. I’ll wait and see if they start on the 15th, but don’t be surprised if there’s another delay.

My issue was that the other two passengers are minors. I don’t see how you can issue a credit to a minor and not the adult responsible for them. Anyhow their rules-fine. But I was willing to use those credits to book a cruise. Now I will get a refund one way or another. Not exactly a win-win.

Still no excuse for being yelled at by a supervisor. I was trying to support them and give them business. Not really interested in sailing with them now.

The only real time I have been upset with NCL was in the FCC of our cancelled cruise. I did the booking, paid with my credit card, and only got 1/3 of the FCC, my sailing partner, whom did not even have an account, got 2/3. they know I am going again, guess they hope my partner doesn't, lol

I am sorry you had such a negative experience. Some of what you mention is experienced across several ships/the entire fleet, but it sounds like it was much worse in your case.

    1. The lights in the room ARE confusing. You find that set-up on the Epic as well as the Breakaway and Breakaway Plus class ships. I needed help figuring it out the first time too, but once I did, it wasn't a big deal.
    2. I haven't sailed on the Epic, but the beds on the three NCL ships I've sailed on have all been incredibly comfy. So comfy in fact that I have researched buying the brand of mattress NCL uses on their ships!
    3. Late into port can happen on any cruise line. Sounds like very bad luck that you were late into *every* port!
    4. There are usually announcements mad, instructions in the Daily, and a separate instruction sheet provided regarding tender tickets. I don't know what communication was so poor in your case.
    5. I have never noticed servers being more attentive to drinking customers vs. non-drinking. If anything, I have found drink service to be fairly slow in the MDRs, because the don't have bars inside of them.
    6. Breakfast room service is free, if you order from the continental breakfast menu. But yes, the $8 delivery for hot food at breakfast or any food throughout the rest of the day is steep. I just order my free breakfast every morning and skip room service the rest of the time.
    7. Were your port excursions booked through NCL? If so, I don't find it acceptable that they were so disorganized. I have only done two formal excursions through NCL and both times they were well-managed and directions were clear.
    8. Can't speak to your allergy issue, since I don't have any food allergies. It does sound annoying!

I have seen a lot of recent reviews about poor service on the Epic specifically. Please don't assume that to be the case across the NCL fleet. I have sailed the Gem, Escape, and Bliss and received excellent service all around, other than occasionally slow service in the MDRs at peak times.

We just got off 10 days on the Norwegian Pearl, we were very disappointed....certainly never met our expectations..they seem to be focused on CruiseNext, think they need to focus on meeting the needs of those on the ship now!!!

  5. noticed yesterday that the cruise fare sail away rates dropped quite a bit for our departure next week...feeling bummed, who wouldn't love a little extra to spend on board...however, today, I noticed on my upgrade offer that my bids moved from Fair to Good....focus on the positives.....

The person you should be annoyed with is your friend.

Opening your mail is uncalled for.

Even as a kid, my parents never opened my mail.  And my husband doesn't open my mail, and

    I don't open his.

noticed the OP has not responded to this discussion...

Okay.......coming to you guys again about an upgrade question.   I have been checking several times a day to see if we have a winning bid on an upgrade.   On one of my choices it now says 'processing' and the others now indicate 'expired'.    Does that mean that maybe I am getting the upgrade or am I just getting my hopes up?    😬   😕  😨

according to what others have said, it sounds like you are a winner...Is it the one you wanted!!!

RE:  Joggers on track.  I sympathize with you!  Clearly these people never exercised a day in their lives, yet they seem to feel the need to CLOG up the track on Cruise!  There were some with purses wrapped around them and "jogging" with slippers trekking along.  There were Grandmas/Grandpas who travel in pods and are on the track with no respect to others.  MOVE OVER!  They are in center lane shuffling along.  Some were in full dress and slippers trekking along.  Huh?  Where is the respect to others who are serious?   Good grief!

You were quite nice voicing your experience about jogging track 🙂

It is always a struggle for us...we are actually joggers, so even those walkers who are 2 or 3 abreast are in our way. We always seem to get in conflict there. we went to Customer service and they posted something in the dailies but never got better...looks like this ship will be no better...

Just got the upgrade email 😀. We are 20 days out going from a mini suite to an SC 2 br.  Our original price plus our bid is 300 less than the current advertised rate for the one remaining 2br.  The bid was at the high end of poor.  We had put a much more aggressive bid for a haven 2br but the haven has been showing sold out for weeks. It will be a great 14 days!

    are you on the Escape??
