  1. I've enjoyed reading this thread as our next cruise is a large interior cabin in the Med - there was too big a difference in cost for anything above an inside - in October and I will definitely try the bridge cam as its our first time inside.

We've gone on balconies (upgraded for free first time and then they had us! Lol) in the Caribbean but a lot depends on the itinerary, for me. In the Carib, it's warm, you can sit outside, you can dry your bathing suit outside etc. and we did.

Our med cruise is very port intensive and we're off the ship every day, all day, so we couldn't justify the very big difference in rate. We decided we'd rather spend the extra for our wonderful excursions :)

  2. We'll be going on a Med cruise and also have ATT but am thinking of just using the iPhone apps that have free texting and calls.... Have you considered those to cut down on the need to increase the cell plan? Whoever you'd call would of course also need to put on their phones :)

I hope I can give the names of the ones we've used - Viber and WhatsApp

  3. I apologize if this has been asked and covered in previous posts, but there are way too many pages to go through. How much did RIL charge for the guide for the Vatican?

We're going in October - our email said the Vatican guide would be additional 180 euro

  4. We actually decided to save our Marriott points and canceled our Cotton House Marriott and ultimately decided on Hotel Jazz for our post cruise night for only 128 EU - I had also looked at the Holiday Inn Express 22 someone above had mentioned - it was only 98 EU -free breakfast - with AAA rate in case anyone is interested

  5. You may have already done so, but if not, check out your sailing's roll call - there may be some shared tours available. (We're doing two shared Rome in Limo with folks from our roll call)

Also, the Europe port of call forums are really helpful too! We're going on our first Med cruise on the Vision in October and have found those forums very helpful. Have a great time!!

(Agree on sticking to Florence and foregoing Pisa)

  6. That's what happened to us, we had thought we'd be using our VISA OBC for our excursions (October Med cruise) and gratuities, but that's not the way it works, apparently, as we were charged on our RCCL credit card which was in the system. I did confirm with the Visa rep what folks have said that if you have remaining Visa OBC it goes back to your credit card, so nothing to lose :)

  7. BekkaW, thanks for mentioning the 4 days left requirement, I wasn't sure as we're on a Med excursion in October with lots of port days- the last 2 days are sea days, so I planned to buy the Replenish then, but it sounds as though if I want for those last two days, I'll need to buy beforehand. Thanks for the heads up!
