  1.   How dare you call us rich? You are rich. So many people cannot even afford rent and here you are taking cruises.

One thing though, if you are taking cruises there are some additional things like excursions, additional restaurants, and there are other things like auto-gratuities. Cruising works great because cruiselines can hire people from other countries and pay them more than they can earn in their countries. I know it is very tempting to remove autogratuities and pay less, but still ... it  is sort of a social contract. Leave it to cruiseline which servises you are using.

  2. There are 14 different menus. Some items repeat like escargots, French onion soup, but most don’t. They usually have salmon with various crust

    Menus are

    Welcom Aboard

Taste of (France, Italy, USA, UK, Asia, Mexico, Caribbean, Mediterranean, World)

    Taste of Royal (lobster night)

    Royal History

    Bon Voyage

    Forgot another one.

  3. I’m not a big storyteller. Created a video about our recent cruise on Liberty to New England and Canada. We do this cruise every year now and enjoy it very much. Boston is our city so we just walked in Seaport district, but in other places I tried to capture the best.

    Our cruise was

Bayonne, New Jersey - Day at Sea - Boston - Portland, ME - St John, New Brunswick 2 days - Day at Seas - Halifax, Nova Scotia - Day at Seas - Bayonne

Video from similar cruise last year with more in Boston as we showed city to our friends, Bar Harbor (Acadia) Maine, Boardwalk in Halifax. We missed St John, New Brunswick due to hurricane Lee

  4. Edge class reminds me of Quantum class in many ways. But less people.

I love state rooms even inside ones. They are so cozy.

Celebrity updated even older ships like Summit. They are of course way larger than Zenith or Century classes which Celebrity does not have anymore.

This is how bathroom of  inside(!) room on Edge looks. It has more luxurious feel. Also you do not to check out towels near the pool. They are placed on loungers when you arrive...

  5. There are no Celebrity ships identical to Oasis class in size and features.

Celebrity is more adult - there are kids clubs, but not waterslides or anything else. Its keys are food, service and overall comfort. It is premium massmarket line.

Celebrity does not have Central parks or Bordwalks... Such features do not exist even on majority of Royal ships.

If you try Celebrity I recommend Edge class. Edge, Beyond, Apex, Ascent.

To me it is somewhat of a hybrid between Celebrity and Royal. Very modern and beautiful. They also offer great entertainment (although it is not like on Oasis class).

It also offers 4 included restaurants with different cuisine.

You have to sail on Anthem to understand how bad it is.  In the Windjammer they change the monitors when you walk in to beg for 10's, and put up subliminal 10 signs on the different stations.  Then to top it off they play annoying "10 out of 10" songs over the speakers.  We complained about it on our surveys after our June cruises, but it sounds like nothing has been done about it.

Must be something recent. We sailed on her 11 times, 7 times since restart and never been asked  about that.

We've been asked once out of 4 cruises this year. On another ship.

Royal night was day 6 back in June on Harmony but it doesn't show on our cruise for next year. I also see different menu names but other than the missing formal night and lobster it seems the same. I will say Mexican night was awful in June, if you are looking at a night to go elsewhere. The enchilada sauce tasted like the marinara from Italian night.

You cannot see menu for next year. What app is showing to you (not for all ships) is menu of current cruise.

It is easily verifiable when current cruise is shorter than one you will have. You will see less menu days and Bon Voyage will be earlier than your last night. If current cruise is longer you will not see Bon Voyage at all.

Even if you select, you still may not get what you selected.  I selected 2 bottles of either pinot grigio or chardonnay, however, I get either a bottle of red and a white.  Sometimes my 2nd is champagne. And sometimes I only get 1 and have to chase down the 2nd.😁

We always got what we selected. Mostly it’s Lindeman Moscato.

    13 cruises and counting.

Not as upset as the Pinnacles excluded for CK on the larger ships, which is why those Diamonds are excluded during HH

    On ours P aren’t excluded.

In our experience Ps are at most 125 (we don’t do transatlantics), but ads could be 800-900s

Does the ship dock close to the town Sydney, Nova Scotia?  Quite a few of the excursions give the impression that the town is nearby.  How far is  Cape Breton Island?  Are there plenty of choices for dining there?

If it’s on itinerary then it’s right in Sydney. It’s Cape Breton. We were there once and it didn’t look like it had plenty of anything. We haven’t spent much time there though, just rented a car and drove toward Cabot trail. Views are beautiful.

Just to echo the other comments.  The 3-coupon program as I recall was introduced prior to the pandemic - I believe 2018?  Maybe earlier? This was an attempt as I understood it to thin the herd in the then Diamond Club due to the high numbers of D, D+, and P that were common on most sailings. Having the coupons provided the flexibility of still enjoying complimentary cocktails, but allowing that in other less crowded venues.  My skeptical nature took this as a step to ultimately limit the DC to D+ and P's as they typically were the lesser combined numbers.

After the Pandemic the current enhanced 4/5/6 voucher system was introduced as, again in my view, the next step in the process. Most recently the DC's were renamed the Crown Lounge, eliminating the word Diamond from its' name.  Now we are seeing on some high volume D/D+/P sailings that D's may be restricted from the CL during the published cocktail hour.

Personally I like the voucher program as it provides much more flexibility than that original DC cocktail hours and subsequent coupon program.  We rarely use the CL anymore, other than to communicate with the Concierge and have the occasional canape when it is not overcrowded.  Don't know if ultimately D's access will change or not, but I guess time will tell.

    Just my 2 cents.

Yes, we are now sailing with high number of D, D+, P and D are not allowed to CL during HH. Of course it’s not a problem as no drinks in the lounge are provided, but some are upset.
