  1. Royal Caribbean is clearly a family line now. May be it has some more adventurous itineraries like Canada /NE; Alaska etc, but it I was interested in real explorations I’d turn to their luxury brand Silver Seas, or maybe to Oceania and such.
  2. Could be even more. On Symphony it was $32 per day.
  3. Yes... it is not intimidating for sure. It is a great ship. Our previous cruise was on Vision which we also love for many different reasons. We did not feel Symphony was in any way intimidating. If I was solo... I'd spend more time in Central Park listening to Jazz. It is amazing! I am glad they removed Jazz lounge ... now Jazz is performed in many cool places
  4. Solarium has a pool which looks like one section of Anthem's pool ... also with sitting areas. I would say overall Anthem has a better Solarium... but it is also good.
  5. Just off of Symphony and sailed 11 times on Anthem (and we love Anthem). Symphony is and feels much larger and offers more. More musics in various venues In addition to 2 great Production shows there are 2 amazing Ice shows!!! Water show Zipline, mini golf, great waterslides... we've seen even adults use it often. Jazz group is amazing and they perform everywhere for many hours - in Central Park, on Promenade in Dazzles. Central park is an attraction on its own... also bar that goes from Promenade to Central park. After 62 cruises (31 with RCI, 1 on Allure, 2 on Oasis) I thought it was difficult to impress me... well. I was. Food is also better than we experience on all RCI ships later.
  6. I will check... although in 63 cruises I have never seen kids sitting at serving (ordering) area.
  7. No. There are tables far from serving area itself. We do not always order drinks there, but we ride it to Central park. In a way it is an equivalent of trivia.
  8. Schooner is also a bar just like many others. Kids can enter bars, just not sit right where drinks are served.
  9. Saturday night fever, In the air, Ice show
  10. We will sail on her to the same ports during Thanksgiving 2024. Yes, new port. She is not here yet. You can start checking from November 2024. 7 days menu collections will be pretty standard aside from holidays (Thanksgiving Day, Christmas etc)
  11. We absolutely LOVED Edge! Prior we sailed on Century, Mercury, Summit (2), Silhouette. Edge was by far the best X ship for us although we loved all X cruises. Things that we liked, but some people do not. I do not think Edge had assigned seating for dinners. We did book dinners through X version of My Time Dining - Select. Menus were different in 4 included restaurants. Not like during Royal's Dynamic Dining when 100% of dishes were unique in each restaurant, but part of menu was different. Restaurants included French, Italian, Mediterranean/Greek and Steakhouse. Entertainment was great. Ship feels somewhat similar to Quantum class of Royal.
  12. We would be much closer to Pinnacles now if did not cruise with 8 cruiselines for a long time 31 with other 7 and 32 with RCI now. We just did not think about statuses for a long time oat all. 🙂 I actually glad we experienced all.
  13. Ah... you are right! There is a consolation though. If one sailed so much on RCI and X he/she is extremely lucky.
  14. What is an issue here? This is a new rule and has nothing to do with luck. All E+ and D+ were not getting matching statuses before this change. Now we all will get it. Zenith/Pinnacles were even in worse position. 😉
  15. Why would it need to be cleaned? Products are frozen. 🙂
  16. We sail from NJ on Liberty, Odyssey this year and Odyssey, Symphony, Liberty and Odyssey again next. I welcome this change 🙂
  17. May this discovery affect all ships sailing from New Jersey!
  18. I’m sure that was because we were on board! 🙂
  19. Yes… we are also off Symphony now. Aside from unusual first seafood lunch in Windjammer… lobster tails appeared in Windjammer on second formal night again (hot). Solarium buffet featured more seafood than WJ on some days and overall had even better selection that my previously favorite Anthem. Overall quality of included food was better. Even French Onion soup tasted better. We don’t cruise for food, but it was noticeable.
  20. Nothing changed. For a very short time in 2021 ships excursions were mandatory. Not anymore.
  21. There are people who simply don’t like cruises. My parents went on 5, but still don’t like them. They only went for itineraries. They cannot see people eating non stop and they don’t like sea days.. and evenings oh ships. They travel a lot independently so it’s not because they are uncomfortable in other countries. Actually many people we know don’t like cruises… They like to feel countries… rent a condo and experience real life in Paris for example. They cannot stand crowds. We LOVE cruises and do 5 a year… People are different,
  22. I hope you know swimming diapers are allowed in all land based hotels. Ships are just very different animals
  23. Where does it say they will go into debt? I personally would not do it as we don’t have 3 day cruises from ports around us (even 6 hours from us) and driving/flying long distance for 3 day cruise doesn’t seem reasonable.. and we generally don’t like. 3-4 dayers unless they attached to another longer cruise.
  24. Side by side. We did 4 dayer on Celebrity following 10 days on Princes for Christmas/NYE 2016 and Royal 5 days + Princess 10 days for Christmas/New Year 2019. It was terrific. First was from Fort Lauderdale and secimd Miami/ Fort Lauderdale
  25. I don’t remember when they became available with all other cruises. Definitely at the time of check in they were available. There are 5 things to book and they are available at various times on various days. Please check current cruise. Shows are amazing.
