I have read though, that you can request bars of soap from your room steward. Can anyone confirm?

Looks like we will rent a car....
Thanks for the suggestion of Murray's Guide folks... Big help!
-
sorry, I mis-spoke; that photojournal is train vs car.
Still, the photos may help. You didn't indicate the age of your kids, but perhaps that will be a factor .... are they at an age where they might do better in a car so you can stop if needed to let them burn off energy?
Nah, They are 11 and 13... They are happy with their tablets and music!

We are looking at a bus tour to the Yukon Border. We are a family of 4.
It will cost close to $300.
I can get a rental car for substantially less.
Is there a big benefit to taking the Bus Tour? Is there really a lot of value added information that I'd miss out on if I did it on my own?

Thanks...
If I stay near the airport, how long will it take to get to the pier Saturday Morning? If by rail and cab?
-
I know this has been asked a million times... but I am looking for a hotel in downtown Seattle near Pier 66, but the prices are ridiculous.
Do they generally drop as the date gets closer, I am looking for the end of August.

Can I get a Lanyard for the key card? Do they charge? How much?
-
I believe the fee is 3%.
If you do a search for OBC, Casino, 3% I think you may find a thread about it. From what I recall, it was fairly recent as well.
Thanks...
-
My understanding was any purchased OBC that is not used can be refunded at the Casino, minus a processing fee.
Interesting, anyone know what this fee is? Is it a flat rate, or a percentage?
If NCL is willing to do this, I may buy a little extra OBC, just because the exchange rate beats the banks.
-
I know the OBC is booked at the lower rate in USD, as dsecribed in a similar post.
My question however is:
If I buy $XXX.00 as an OBC, and I only spend $YYY.00, what happens to the difference? Can I get a CASH refund, or does it get credited back to my credit card?
-
I understand that it's 1 drink at a time...
If ordering something like scotch or whiskey, can I order a double?
-
Thanks.... I went ahead and booked a 1:30 departure to give an extra hour just in case.
Thanks all!

I posted this on the west coast departure board as well... just curious, maybe you guys can lend more insight to NCL's disembarkation process.
We will be on NCL in August, our cruise ends in Seattle at 8:00 am.
I understand the disembarking process can be tedious.
Is it reasonable to book at 12:30 departure out of Seattle airport? We will have to get there on a Saturday from Pier 66.

Anyone have a link to a high def version?
I can find the full episode on youtube, but the quality is not very good.

You can only choose one... which is it?

I actually found that same hotel - The Warwick on Groupon for $126 / night
But the dates are scattered, and only until May.

I will continue to monitor.
All this info is quite helpful, thanks everyone.

Do you need to pay for a Wifi plan, or is it free for the on board content?

Oops...I forgot to give more details! We took the train from the Seattle Airport to Downtown Seattle (I think it was the last stop? I forgot..grr) as we flew into Seattle the day of the cruise. I have also forgotten how much it cost. The train ride took around 45 mins
I have to look into that... Thanks
-
Are you staying in Seattle the night before the cruise? Lots of things to see and do near the Port of Seattle.
There is a commuter train link from the airport to the downtown area. Seattle is built on a series of hills similar to San Francisco. The Port of Seattle terminal is located at Pier 66 at the bottom off Bell Street on the northern edge of the waterfront area.
We are staying in Seattle the night before, possibly a couple days before.

We typically arrive at 11:30am-12pm so we can put luggage in the room and go get some food. When we took Jewel sailing out of Seattle last year, we took the train to downtown Seattle and then walked like a mile to the port. That was a pretty nice exercise despite the luggages.
Ooooooh, info please.... Train from? How much did that cost?
-
We are leaving from Seattle on the Jewel, with a 4:00 departure.
What time should I arrive, and what is open on the ship when we get on?

I have 16 cruises to date. I just invited a "new" friend to cruise with me and she is excited beyond words. I told her everything I could think of, answered her questions and then gave her the cruise critic and ncl websites for further information.
I would hope everyone here would make her feel welcome. I would hate to dampen someone's excitement like that.
Everyone here remember their first cruise?
Just send here to the new to cruising page on NCL, I am sure it has everything she needs to know.

You say you've been to Disney many times and understand their transportation system. I am not 100% convinced you do. ;)
There are no buses from the parks to DTD. To get to DTD from a park you would have to take a bus/monorail/boat to a resort, and then from the resort to DTD.
Disney stopped buses from DTD to parks many years ago to avoid guests parking free and hoping on a bus to the parks.
The travel time from any park to DTD I would plan at least 1 hour unless you want to take a cab.
