  1. You will keep whatever perks you had in your original booking but not those cabin amenities.

If you move up to a suite you get those amenities plus the perks you had.   In the Retreat lounge you will get complimentary drinks.   If you are in the Retreat Deck area and order a drink you will be charged for it unless you have a drink package.  Same in Luminae.

You will be charged the rate for gratuities for the new category, or the difference if prepaid.  You will get the CC points for the original category and not the new one.

  2. Seen that ship being promoted on a morning TV show.    I said to my wife it would be like 2 more  ships in the port if we were on the Constellation that has a capacity of 2100.

Embarkation and disembarkation would be a disaster.   It is bad enough with 2000 to 3000 passengers.

One feature was that there are adult areas next to the children areas.   Good for families and I would guess that is what their target is.    Hopefully it will keep them off of the Celebrity ships.

    NO THANKS.

Good luck on viewing the Saturday night game Dolphins vs. Chiefs as it is only being shown on Peacock(a streaming outlet).  This will be the first ever NFL playoff game where one has to pay to watch it.

Rumor is that they did that to hopefully to get all of the swiftie  fans to sign up for Peacock just to see her cameo in the suite during the game.

I will not be watching as I can’t justify paying for more services. We already are paying for ESPN, and Bally that shows many of the sports that use to be on the over the air networks.

  4. There is no HH on embarkation day or the days that have the Captains Reception,  or Captain's Club party.   So that could be 3 days of your cruise without the HH.   They do serve the same HH drinks at those parties that last about 1 hour

$100/day is a lot of drinking and if you have a lot of port days you may be drinking at those ports instead.

Well said..agree with you there 🙂

I see that you are from Australia.

There use to be a commercial in the USA

Qustion.   How do they say beer in Australia?   Answer.  Fosters

On a cruise there were some Australians .  I asked them how they say beer in Australia?   They looked at me rather confused and like I was an idiot.   They said beer.

I told them about the commercial in the USA.   They said we don’t drink that S****, we only make it and send it to the USA.

Problem is there are no cabins left on Beyond other than Suites...we just are booking now...thanks for your replies.

That is because  the prices are too high.   Not worth it

Do Equinox and book a cruise on an edge class ship in a lower category when on board or get a future cruise certificate and book one later.

  7. That area was also shown on the other Edge class ships.   It wasn’t used because of the winds and other elements and eventually abandoned.

There is a  outside patio next to the Eden Cafe.   You will see many die hards out there trying to eat with the wind blowing stuff off of their plates, and being baked by the sun.   No thanks

  8. How were you able to check in on Aug 27?    When I try to check in for a cruise on Feb 15 it says that check in is 30 days prior.   Thanks

    WEB CHECK-IN

To receive your e-ticket, provide the required guest information for all cabin guests in accordance with their passport details. Remember, web check-in is accessible starting from 30 days before and up to 24 hours prior to your cruise departure

  9. Book a cheaper cabin on the Beyond.

We were on the Beyond in March.   A very nice ship.   Spent very little time in the Retreat areas.   Too many other nice places on the ship.   Luminae is very large dining room and the menu isn’t that great.

We were on the Silhouette in Nov.   We felt the  cuts really affected the suite experience. Again didn’t spend much time in the retreat areas.  Ordered many items off of the MDR menu because the selections weren’t that appealing in Luminae.

The prices that are being charged for a suite isn’t worth it.

This was posted on facebook earlier today. If I am reading correctly, premium beverage package no longer includes 'premium' alcohol, only premium non-alcoholic drinks. Yet, it states 'All beverages up to $17 per serving.' So, is the martini bar still covered in the premium package? Or is it an upcharge if you ask for Grey Goose? Anyone else find this a little confusing?

On the Silhouette in Nov there was a new Martini Bar menu.  Most of the Martinis used Kettle One.  Not many of the old drinks were listed on the new menu.

Didn’t spend much time at the Martini Bar as it didn’t have the atmosphere that we were use to.  The BTs weren’t very entertaining and something was lacking in the drinks.

  11. The CC activities list is sometimes hidden in all of the papers, or folder that is either on the bed or desk at the start of the cruise.  Sometimes the attendants are  just overloaded with their duties and miss something.

On our recent cruise we mentioned we found in an item in a drawer to the room attendant.   We were asking if it belonged in the cabin  or if the previous passengers left it.    He got very upset and thought we were complaining about the drawer not being emptied.   He was almost in tears said that he had so many cabins that he didn’t have time to look in every nook and cranny.

  12. There are many different grades of Reidel glasses.   I was in a very upscale wine store and seen Reidel wine glasses selling for $5.   I asked the owner and he said they are bar quality.   I am sure that is what we get in Luminae, or Blu.   They don’t have the sharp cut lip and seem a little thicker.    If not they would be pilfered.

A few years ago my wife asked  for another glass to take the wine out of Blu as she didn’t finish it.  The server said take it, no problem.  We went to the martini bar and the person that was sitting next to us seen the glass and mentioned that is a Reidel and you should take it home.  I said if you want it you can have it when emptied.  He denied my offer.  🙄🤷‍♂️😱

So do you have an arbitration date yet? I mean somewhere around page 321(a) subparagraph 5.1.3(c) in your cruise ticket Celebrity spelled out the procedure for arbitration. Right after the paragraph that said you agreed to arbitration and right before the paragraph that said you had to file any legal challenges in Florida and close to the one that said you couldn't participate in a class action. It was easy to ready in Arial 6. So I'm assuming you've filed for arbitration for breach of contract?

Venting is fine. Maybe even cathartic. But if people really think they aren't getting what they paid for then there are remedies in the cruise contract. Cruise Critic isn't a remedy.

I'm sure you're not getting what you think you paid for. You're not getting what I want to believe I paid for. But I'm betting unless they have the worst corporate lawyers on earth, we're actually getting what we really paid for. And we accepted their ability to change pretty much everything even after we bought the cruise. And I'm also sure they'll gladly send you the link where you could have read all those terms before actually buying the cruise. And no, I didn't read them either. I just assume they're there and that they're designed to hose me over. Like Ticketmaster, the airlines, MLB, NBA, NFL, NCAA, most carmakers, etc.

Honestly as a person who doesn't watch any "big games" I would find it annoying- the game should be watched  using your iPad, phone and earbuds so as not to intrude upon other people trying to enjoy the relaxation of the lounge.  They also have venues with TVs.

I agree on this.   I like sports and watch some of it but it can’t be a retreat if it is turned into a sports bar.

It is also annoying when a group constantly takes over and turns the place into their private party area.

You bring your laptop, tablet or book and grab a comfy chair and a drink. Then read a  book or newspaper or stream a sportng event.

It is marketing hype of what is possible not deception as all are possible.

Then it should read as a place where you can read YOUR book and etc and making it appear as if it a place that has it available or provides it
