There is nothing relaxing to me about a RCCL cruise especially since both ships you mentioned would have over 4000 passenger capacity. I much prefer a smaller ship for a relaxing itinerary. This is just my personal opinion.

If you are staying at a hotel at LHR, you will have to make your way back to the airport terminal for the transfer to Southampton.

Unfortunately, your biggest concern might be the fact that you are flying in the day you are embarking. With all the crazy weather this country has been experiencing I wish you the best of luck. Hopefully, no airline delays or cancellations for you.🙏

Anyone on the March 29 able to make ressies yet?

I have not been to make specialty restaurant reservations yet on 3/29/24 sailing.

We were on the Sky in Penthouse Aft Suite in March on a transatlantic and experienced no problems at all. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

When I click "Explore Dining options" I get a message "Please check back closer to your journey to use this feature"

This is exactly the same thing that happens to me when I try to reach dinner reservations of any kind..

I know someone "that bought into the package" and she says trying to use it has been an absolute nightmare. Hotel rooms are not just any hotel you wish to book but a selective group of hotels and the hotels rooms are not free but just a discounted room. She said she would NEVER do it again. I am not speaking from my personal experience, only what she has related to me.

I have searched for answer to my question but can't find answer so figured I would ask this knowledgeable group. If the only two of us in the cabin is myself and my 12 year old daughter do I have to buy plus package for both of us, or can I buy the plus package for myself and the soda package for my daughter? Thanks in advance for any kind replies you might have for me.

Come on Princess, you expect everyone to change their plans with days to spare?  It also can mess with our speciality dining plans that we have made.  

This has got to be a mistake.

 

 

They have done the same thing for 12/23 cruise. Still no email from them notifying us, just noticed it when checking something else on our booking this morning.

I know at one time not so long ago, Princess had sports betting via the App. I know I cannot see anything about it on the App right now, so I was wondering if has been done away with or is just because I am not on the ship. Can anyone help me with this? Thank you in advance.

Not true, 15 drinks are alcoholic drinks only.

I cannnot imagine anyone fully explaining this as it was just announced this morning. Thus, no one has experienced it yet.

Docking in san Francisco this morning on the Ruby princess and we hit something this morning coming into port. Word from the docklands is there is a hole/gash in rear port side of the ship..above the water line appears...as the dock staff all taking photos..we haven gotten cleared customs yet.

I do find it a little strange to use a firm based East of London (Romford, Essex), 40 miles away on the opposite side of the city to Heathrow, for a trip to Southampton which is even further away. We usually suggest using taxi operators based in or near Southampton.

I used them because their reviews were as good as anyone else and their pricing was better than most!

We used Express Airport Transport and it was charged as Pink Berry car service, so it must be one and the same (used them in March from Southampton to LHR). I would recommend them, in fact, using them again in October to get from LHR to London and then London to Southampton.

You should be fine. You can leave out of Heathrow by 2:00 pm and it is MUCH worse than Athens.

Have been to Nha Trang about 10 times 5 times on cruise ships, For private all day tours with pickup and dropoff at port gate we were paying $50 per person with lunch included. A few years ago, I was told the port adds $30 per person if the tour drops off inside the port. Most private tours pickup just outside the gate. So the question is, do you want to walk 150 yards to save this port fee? 

 

And really at this port you do not even need a set tour, very easy place to just be a tourist. 

Could you provide the name of the tour company you are using?

We were on a transatlantic from Fort Lauderdale. We had driver pick us up at 9:15 am and were at LHR by 10:40. We were in no hurry to disembark since we knew we were being picked at 9:15 am.

Yes, it is on deck 10. To be specific it is 10501. I could not believe we received an upgrade so soon either. In fact, in the 15 cruises we have taken with Princess, this is the first upgraded we have received.

I have absolutely no idea, first time it has happened to us.

We were booked in a regular mini suite on March 29, 2024 but have been "upgraded" to cabana mini suite. Normally, I would be very excited, however, the cabana mini we have been assigned is above the buffet. I know for a fact I would not be a happy camper if it was below buffet but wondering if anyone has an opinion about being above the buffet. I realize no one has sailed on the Sun at this time, but anyone have a similar cabin on another ship that is above the buffet. I was shocked to have received an upgrade so early.

It can be up to the day you sail to get your guarantee room assignment. Of course, it can be earlier, but same day is the worst case scenario.
