  1. Was just checking Carnival site for a possible cruise cruise next year out of Port of Charleston SC, it appears they are no longer offering 7 day sailings on the Fantasy like I took back in 2012. Sure was hoping to go to Grand Turk again and finally see Half Moon Cay. Guess I'm stuck with Nassau and Freeport unless I go to a Florida port. :(

We are doing a 7 day on April 19, 2014.

  2. I am very sorry, your post got by me.:o There is a Tim Horton's almost around the corner from the Blue Horizon on Alberni St. which has a number of breakfast items as well as doughnuts. There is a White Spot which serves up great breakfasts but is a solid 5+ block walk at Georgia & Cardero Sts. There is also a crepe restaurant nearby on Robson but the name is gone from my head. You will find any number of Starbucks within a block or so of the hotel.

    Thank you

  3. Putterdude,

We are staying in the Blue Horizon on Robson for 4 days Sept 13-16. Can you recommend any breakfast restaurants in walking distance. Nothing expensive maybe reasonable prices.

I posted this several days ago and did not get a response from Putterdude. Does anyone else have any ideas.

  4. Does anyone know about the gym facility at the pan pacific? I read an older review that said it was awful -- accessed only through the parking garage. I wonder if this has been improved since that review.

To that end- do you know of a nice hotel with a nice gym? It may not be a make or break situation but my husband does like a decent facility.

The Blue Horizon is about $150 a night and $15 a day for parking. It is in a good location and seems to have an ok gym with a lap pool.

  5. I have a question about money. We are arriving at the Vancouver Airport and plan on taking a taxi to the Blue Horizon Hotel. We will be staying for 4 nights pre-cruise. I have prepaid for three tours for each day.

My question is, do we need to convert USD to CAD at the airport before getting a cab? Do the cabs take credit cards? If I need CAD where do I convert.

I read on Tripadvisor to use an ATM. Is that the best?

We will be using a credit card for most purchases, I am thinking a small amount of CAD would be helpful for small purchases such as snacks, cold drinks, and etc.
