I am cruising next week on the Explorer in the med however with your live review/pics I can't wait till May to experience the Seaside. Thanks for the great review looking forward to sharing your experience

Enjoy your Cruise. We are on it on the 25th Nov so counting down the days. We were on it's sister ship (Celebrity Century) a few years ago and it is a lovely ship.

Firstly, thought I would start this new thread to replace the "Don't book with Marella...etc" one.

 

So we can post positive statements on what we friendly people are doing over Summer 2019.

 

I know you can't book anything until 5th April 2018 but we have to start somewhere, and as I already have a brochure and have been answering questions in Summer 2019? thread, I thought this new one would be better for posting what we are upto rather than asking questions on "What ship is where?, doing what ports of call? etc"

Ok I confess I am jumping ships. I am going on the new MSC Seasde out of Miami in the yacht club :halo: ok it is for a special occasion. If Marella did this then I would not think twice.:rolleyes: Saying that I got a great deal and as a canny Scot you need to look at the penny's. Really looking forward to this. I think it would be good if Marella did what other cruise lines do and give royalty credits to their loyal customers and look at their premier status as they don't offer the same great value. However this will not stop me from cruising with them as this is what got me into cruising and love the feeling of the smaller ships. Off on the new Explorer on Saturday :D

Just really wondered what were the differences in the outside & outside plus We needed 2 cabins but only one outside plus available so decided to take the 2 outside that were available Is there something wrong with them as they do not look much different in size on the deck plan Restricted view ? not enough wardrobe / drawer space ??

I have stayed in both types 9019 outside and 9033 outside plus and I did not find any difference deck 9 is my favourite deck to stay as you can nip to the lido for early morning tea/coffee with cake and take it back to your cabin without using lifts or stairs. Have a great cruise.

Has anyone had experience of staying in one of these cabins?

If so, can you let me know if the Balcony is overlooked from deck 12 or are they private?

I love the Dream, never stayed in a balcony cabin however when I was on last year I went to look for the balcony cabins to check them out and boy are they hard to find and you can not see them from the deck above.. nearly broke my neck trying to glimpse them from deck 11 from the pool hope the helps. Have a great cruise.

We’ve got cabin 8091. Could you see if decent position, please.

Hi I have just checked the deck plans and can't see any library. Tui usually has this next to the coffee port, so I will be on a mission next week to find it if there is one. One more for my list. There is a mention of the attic on deck 8 maybe that's it, don't know will find out.

Thanks I will take a note of all questions and check them all out. If anyone knows before hand then all the better. Keep the questions coming.

Thanks Cristaltips I am really looking forward to sailing on the Explorer as most of my cruises have been on Marella cruise lines and each one is different in their own way. I am sure I will have a ball..

I will be on the Explorer on Saturday 6th to the 13th. While trying to research the ship it has been a mixed bag. I know everyone has their own ideas of good and bad, therefore what I would like to do is try and get as much factual info as possible, so if there is anything that you would like me to checkout let me know and I will do my best. I am not buying the wifi so a full report of what you wanted to know along with my thoughts and review will be posted come the 16th October as I have hubbys 60th on the 14th and a busy weekend when I return. :)

You don't know what my actions is. However let me enlighten you, I would never not pay as I think all crew members deserve a decent wage and always prepay my gratitudes and tip on top. I was just saying so what you read into it is your issue so right back at you.

Found this on google even with your numbers it is still $318 a month on top of pay still not bad going where a lot of people in service gets only their pay for a job they signed up for. Don't get me wrong everyone deserves to be rewarded to make a holiday special and not only for the face to face service.
