You dont say what card you have.  If you are using the Bank of America Cash Rewards card (as I do), and you set your bonus category to online purchases (also as I do), BofA does consider the Allstate gift card purchases to be an online purchase, and you will get the 3% bonus on each purchase up to the quarterly maximum.

Yes! I can change my earnings reward back to online on the 1st. I had it set for travel for airline tickets this month. Thanks!

  2. Can someone share with me how the charge appears on the credit card? Is it Allstate, a different online company? I can get 3% cash back if it is an "online purchase", but it won't give me the bonus if it is for "allstate" since insurance (een though I am not using it to buy insurance) isn't covered in the bonus category. Thanks!

  3. There is a big difference between a 9 and 12 year old in the clubs. I highly doubt, and, in fact, my kids would be super annoyed, if a 9 year old were put in Circle C. Mine are 13 and 14. Your best bet would be for the 12 year old to move down.

I recently got the card myself and figure I'll use it for any excursion I book through Carnival. Normally, I link my Citi double card (2% cash back) before I cruise so all my purchases on board are charged to it. Is there any advantage of charging on board purchases to my Carnival card instead?

You get 2x funpoints for Carnival purchases. So advantage would be if there is one charge is $1500+, you can redeem at 1.5 days for points instead of just 1.

  5. Yes, they are safe. First off, once in teen clubs, they are allowed to check themselves into and out of the club. Many teens make friends, then hang out in other areas of the ship together. Having the hub app is a nice way to keep in touch, but it isn't flawless. My girls have strict rules. There is NO ONE allowed in our stateroom. Likewise, they are not allowed to set foot in another, even if that is where others decide to "hang out". If one leaves the club, the other has to as well.  They must meet us for dinner every night. Our upcoming cruise will be their 5th.

  6. So you couldn't sign him up online? My kids have vifp numbers and have since they were 7 and 8. Call if that is what it takes. I could care less about the color of the card. I want my kids to be able to reach platinum and diamond, if they so choose, earlier in their lives so they can enjoy boarding early, etc.

  7. If you cannot do the ruins in a leisurely manner where you have time to really experience them, learn from them and, when allowed, climb them, don't go. IMO, spending half the day getting to and from will make the trip not worth it. Go to Cancun or Playa del Carmen as a land vacation, and you will not be disappointed. Many snorkel and dive outfits in Mainland Cancun and PDC set up trips specifically to Cozumel for diving and snorkeling to give you an idea of the quality you will get there.

Yes Bahacca I've done the cave tubing and zip lining in Belize. Really was a great experience. I recommend it highly. Don't forget to try the four legged chicken very tasty.

I meant if anyone has price matched. I found one cheaper, but now I want just the tubing and cannot find one that is the same length. All of them are shorter duration.

  9. I am reluctant to book a cave tubing trip outside of the cruiseline since the travel to get there and back is so far. I've been looking at comparable trips, and all of the tour operators note their trips being .5-1 hour SHORTER than the cruiseline trips. Has anyone had luck with Carnival price matching an outside tour that includes cave tubing? If so, which one?
