Thanks for taking the time to write about this new ship. Could you elaborate on any of the specialty dining other than the main restaurant. Is it like the traditional fleet of silver sea small ships or is there some new venues?

i was told by two onboard cruise consultants that PTP was an experiment to try to entice non Silversea customers to try their line. It failed because it was mostly confusing Silversea regulars. So its been canceled and phased out as booked PTP voyages sail. All new advertises will be DTD only.

They send four vouchers to take care of transportation from your house to the airport and from your return airport to your house. It's take four vouchers to complete both ends. They assume one for each person.

You can request it before your voyage. If they don't have it, they will quote you a price to get it for you.

They have a standard breakfast time but will alter it to allow everyone to have some kind of breakfast around Excursions.

Biggest problem is some guests are from countries that their hair straightener is powered by 120 volts. It would behoove all users to purchase a hair straightener that is powered by 220 volts and bring a two-pin adapter. if you only have a 110 volt unit, only some ships have rooms with 110 volt receptacles in their rooms. WARNING - if you put an adapter on a 110 volt unit and plug it into a 220 volt receptacle, it will burn up instantly.

On the Silver Dawn you can only order from the room service menu for dinner. But you can have them make something special for you if you give them 24 hours notice. Talk to your butler when you get onboard.

PtP will no longer be provided. It was an experiment to attract new customers but all it did was pis off existing customers.

Big problem with two ships in Tromso with nobody getting any flights. Ship is staying in port additional night to hire a charter aircraft to fly guest from Tromso to Oslo and back. That is only happening with Silversky guests. The rest are on their own and not happy.

just an update: Temp checks are still every morning and just had our neighbor test positive with Covid. They were asked to relocate to deck 4 for quarantine. They refused and asked Silversea to fly them out and home to the US. They just left the ship...

For those interested, the Wind retrofit is more extensive than when the Cloud was done. At least it appears that way for the areas the guest see. We were pleasantly surprised with the room cabinetry and new plumbing. As some of you know the zodiacs were added on the top deck on the Cloud. But here on the Wind, a new section was added on the back and the zodiacs are stacked on the extension Deck 6. It's been Dec 2019 since our last cruise. Looking forward to getting our sea legs back. Hope to see you aboard.

Yes, don't worry. Before your cruise at least 30 days, order your size from MySilversea/Gear Shop. When you arrive onboard, try it on but DO NOT REMOVE ANY TAGES. If its wrong, notify your Butler and he will change it out for you. Have a nice time...

Don't know what I was thinking. Yes it is 250 days for additional 5 percent. I looked an we are 220 days, so a little more cruising.

Hi Les, I think at 150 you get additional 5% discount. Not sure but we are only 20 days behind that and will look forward to another five percent off. Will ask when we got on the Wind in a few weeks.

You're overthinking this, just go ahead and book it and have fun.. You won't have any problems making dinner reservations or excursions.

Could have been a dry run or charter, to shake out any problems. As of now, its back in Crete but tied up to a different dock. We will check her out at the end of June and see what's changed from the last time we sailed.
