That’s too bad- I had added our friends for our upcoming cruise but when I put in my brother’s reservation it wouldn’t let me (he booked on the UK site). I had planned to call - too late now I guess🤨

Nice to see you here KansCocoa! Your Med review of a few years ago has been so helpful to me over several trips! Hope you will do a review of this one!

I was looking at a Recent Cruise Compass for this particular cruise and noticed that there are a few organized 18-20 events.

So if you bought a drink package before cruise, why not allow extra bottles?
While I see your point, I suspect it's a logistics thing. In theory they would have to spend time checking everyone who brings bottles to the MDR to see if they have a package or not.

My brother was able to book the Mystery dinner on the first night AND the BOGO on our upcoming Freedom cruise. We weren’t able to do that (we are based in Canada and used the N.A site; brother is in UK and used the UK site). I’ll report back, but not apply to a TA.

If an adult is the only 21+ person in a cabin with 2 children - are two bottles still allowed? I thought I read that it was one per adult to a maximum of 2 bottles. Or maybe that’s just the cheap booze addling my memory[emoji23]

I was in Barcelona last year for a conference and often took the subway around alone to get to meetings and dinners. I have a Travelon travel handbag that I wear cross body (it is built with anti theft security functions and I bought mine on Amazon for about $35). I was conscious in crowded situations - and had no problem. Don’t keep anything in your pockets and hold on to your bag. But that is true anywhere. It is a lovely city and I felt quite safe.

Hi there, they let you use your BOGO dinners on nights other than 1 and 2? My wife and I are considering BOGO for our 3/17 cruise but are slightly bummed about being forced to use them it on nights 1&2. The POSSIBILITY of being able to switch to a later night would make me feel better!
Yes we were allowed to do nights 1 and 3 I believe, but again and with most things RC I think it depends on who you speak to. We were on a very port intensive cruise and I suspect pre-sales of specialty dining were not strong so they were willing to accommodate us.

You can still charge one a la carte. Just let the bartender know, and they'll do that for you.

I don't think it negates the benefit, as I'm assuming that benefit is free, whereas the regular Joe has to pay for it. When we were on Harmony they were flexible about when we used it, but I suspect that just depends on who you talk to.
For our upcoming cruise, a family member booked the Mystery Dinner, which is the first night, but was also able to book the BOGO, so not sure what will happen with that, as we tried, and weren't able to do that.

OP, I feel for you! And very impressed that you didn't panic. It would be nice to know why this happened. We are embarking in two weeks and I'm now planning on having our group ensure at least one other person knows if they are going to the washroom, so that we are all aware. Thanks for sharing as this may help someone else avoid what you've been through.

Yes we were able to switch to Wonderland as our first night of BOGO, no trouble.

In addition to Windjammer, I believe Café Promenade and Sorrentos are also open for lunch.

Thanks for sharing! We are on this trip on March 11 - cannot wait. If you can, could you post the Compass for the Teen groups? Much appreciated.

On our 2016 Harmony cruise, it was offered in the Cruise Planner.

Of course no sooner do I write the above and I get a new email from RC offering me bigger discounts on excursions etc than they have offered for a while! Cancelled my existing shore excursions and rebooked with the new ‘deal’ and saved $70. Better than nothing!!

I don't think anyone blames the reps, they are limited by their training. I'm sure we recognize that these employees aren't regular cruisers. RCI needs to improve their training programs!

If you booked directly, you will get many (many!!!) emails with new "deals". The closer you get, the less of a deal they are in my experience. We ended up booking drinks packages in December for March at a reasonable discount - I think, one never knows whether it is a deal, but just be fine with what you end up paying. We are three weeks out now, and the "deals" are becoming smaller.

I believe you could check your luggage with most hotels for the day, just tip them nicely!!

We stayed in 10212 and had no noise issues whatsoever - the white space is likely storage or crew areas. Loved every minute of it! Enjoy!!!

Thanks for sharing. We are on starting March 11 with friends/family who have never cruised before, and I've talked it up quite a bit, so glad to hear that there were positives! Looking forward to it!!!

Oh that DOES suck. I'm so sorry to hear this. I have no magic words to make it better, just wanted to express my sympathy to your situation. Hopefully raising it up the food chain will help?

You could always call and add On Board Credit to your account every once in a while, to equal the approximate price of the drinks package, and then purchase on board. Of course, it may be more expensive on board, or maybe it isn't. As Bob pointed out, none of us really know for sure what those discounts are referring to!! Sort of a round about way of making payments on it.
Back when RC was converting CA to US$ at $1.10, we put a few hundred dollars on our account. Saved a few bucks, and was handy to not have a bill at the end. Of course RC has woken up to the exchange rates (wahhhh...) so I'm less inclined to do that now.

OP, I hear you on the weather, I'm based in Toronto and I'm getting sick of it! 4 weeks today we'll be winging our way to Fort Lauderdale to hop on Freedom for our March Break. Cannot Wait!!!! Enjoy your cruise!
