I don't have a problem with the NRD, but I do understand the points being made here for those who do. I did, however, have an issue when I booked a cabin on a NRD rate for three people. The next day, another friend decided to join us, so I called to move myself into another cabin. They told me I'd have to lose my deposit. I wasn't cancelling, switching ships or sale dates, which is what triggers the loss, but I couldn't get them to understand that. I ended up booking another cabin online, and recently called back to have myself removed from the first cabin, CS took me off, no issue. As usual, the devil was in the details in that you need to get a CS rep who understands the rules, but as we all know that is a common problem with Royal Caribbean.

I am a bit confused with the drink package. If you have the package and order a premium liquor do they just charge the difference?
Yes. So if a glass of wine is $14.50 and the package taps out at $12, you’ll sign a slip for $2.50

I love your detailed thoughts! I would be interested in this, though I think this doesn’t match the Royal Caribbean brand.

I ordered my first set from LL Bean but the last sets from Amazon. All good and they seem to fit std luggage well.

I found magnets to be very handy attached to the ceiling allowing our bathing suits to dry. While there is lots of storage in most cabins (depending on how many people are sharing) I do like having things organized and where I can see them.

I think you may need to call. They may be able to put a note on the reservation, something we can't do online.

FWIW, I've read in many threads here that on TAs, many passengers are Diamond and above, so the lounge is jammed, and most of the priority or exclusive perks are less "perks" due to sheer numbers who qualify.

In an effort to be positive (and OP I completely feel your pain- I’d be annoyed too) I would think because there will be more families there may be less competition for bar seating after dinner as the families will be in their rooms getting the kiddies to bed.

I received mine in the mail today too for my Amazon Chase Visa. Sad indeed. Are there any other cards that don't have conversion fees?
I did some research after I received my letter and there is a HomeTrust Visa that doesn’t charge conversion fees. If you Google credit cards you should get a few comparison. Loved my Marriott card[emoji22]

This is worrying. We are on Freedom on 3-11, and I've convinced several family members and friends to try out the cruise experience. I hope things improve.

You are a very thoughtful hubby. Can you call my husband and tell him what to do?

We are doing this cruise two weeks before, so I can't offer "been there done that" advice. However, make sure you allot plenty of time to get back on board. The departure time listed in the itinerary is the time the ship leaves, not the "all aboard" time, which I believe is typically 30 minutes before. Especially for tender ports (Grand Cayman) you'll want to be back well in advance. Enjoy your cruise, we are super excited to be getting on board on the 11th!

I also think they may be limited to C&A members. I keep getting sales promotions for my upcoming cruise. I am travelling with 3 other families, and they are not getting them. Two of them are not C&A members.

We purchased wine in port on our Med cruise. There was a desk right behind security to hand it over - they returned it to us on the final night. This was fine - we wanted to bring it home. But just so you are aware they did enforce the rules.

We did this itinerary on Harmony in August 2016. As there were six of us in our party, we found excellent tours through Tripadvisor. Cheaper than the ship and really fab in terms of tailoring the touring to meet our needs. We did the Amalfi Coast as well as a tour to Cinque Terre. I highly recommend each one. For Amalfi we used See Amalfi Coast (#1 rating on TripAdvisor). Unfortunately I can't find the info for Cinque Terre - our travel agent set it up.

We will be going on the Allure for the third time in April. The Allure is my favorite ship. We have been on the Oasis and the Harmony. I have one question about the Allure, do they have the WOW bands. We had them on the Harmony and loved the convenience of not having to carry our sign and sail cards with us all over the ship and to get in to our cabin. I have searched the boards but I have not seen a definite answer. Thanks in advance.
No, just Harmony and Quantum class ships so far. We also really liked the convenience when we were on Harmony. Maybe one day the program will be expanded!

That is disappointing. We are on Freedom in March, and we all have beverage packages (at great cost). If this is still the case, I'll be sure to complain in the post-cruise survey!

Duty Free is only available to international travellers. Unless you are flying in from Canada (I see you are in Grand Island NY - so close) you probably don’t qualify for a duty free purchase. As well, depending on the airport you can only buy duty Free when leaving not arriving.

This is the link to my review that was published today.
I'm very pleased with our Freedom experience overall. Only a few things could be improved, and those had to do with other guests and overall dining venue times and availability.
Thanks for your report. We are on this itinerary and ship in March. Can you provide more detail about the dining venue times and availability issues? Right now we have MTD, and I need to book times - do you have some recommendations?

Especially since it’s your honeymoon, I thought you would want one more night of privacy with the wife (wink, wink) or at least sleep and rest up. Didn’t think anyone would actually want to pocket the entire amount of savings and not use some of the money saved.
Personally I think you are screwed for next 30 years as I am sure your wife will hold this against you as the years go on for being stuck at the airport for 20 hours instead of getting a basic hotel room for $100. This will be a never-ending story. The guys who are reading this and have been married for over 30 years will all nod and agree with me that you are screwed.
Can’t “undo” what your wife will complain about to kids and grand kids years down the road…Good luck.
Come on, guys (or gals), anyone else agrees with me?
Ya, Harry, I'm with you. I'm a wife, and I would totally NOT let my husband forget this. I did also wonder when I read it and thought to myself - why didn't they get a cheap day room at a local hotel?? But I get it, every penny counts and to each their own, but I still think he'll never live this down.

There is a program called Autism at Sea that may be able to help. I don’t know personally about it but friends of ours are using it for an upcoming cruise with their Autistic son. Google it to see if you can find more info.
Edited to add - it’s called Autism on the Seas.

OP, I hear you on the weather, I'm based in Toronto and I'm getting sick of it! 4 weeks today we'll be winging our way to Fort Lauderdale to hop on Freedom for our March Break. Cannot Wait!!!! Enjoy your cruise!
