They have zero obstruction in my opinion.   The balconies are very large and having that small sofa is wonderful.
The obstruction is that when you look straight down, you can see the Promenade.  When you look straight out, nothing but the ocean.
Best rooms on the ship in my opinion.

I agree. We were in E409 for our Alaska cruise.

The only issue we had were some loud talkers on the Promenade deck while in Glacier Bay.

@sfkaren  you mentioned there were no UBD this cruise.  Can you clarify if you had already pre-booked and they cancelled you or if you were attempting to book on the ship?    If you prebooked, did they give you the complementary specialty dining?  Thank you so much.

We had not pre-booked, we tried to book once we were on the ship.

  3. For those asking about masks. You have to wear them while walking around, in the casino, retail stores, while getting food in the buffet, while waiting in line to be seated in a dining room or restaurant, in line at the IC, at the customer service desk, shore excursions desk and while seated in the Princess Theater, Princess Live etc and maybe a couple of other instances that I’m not aware of. If you are seated, eating or drinking in most other locations we have found that you do not need to wear them.

Echoing these questions with more.  Was the antigen test at CVS the one people got who used the CVS minute clinic?  If not, which test did you take? Also most posters said it was at no charge.   Did CVS bill your insurance?  Are any of you on medicare and did they accept you without cost?  And did they ask for insurance or did you note no insurance?  And did you only check, the first box about needing it for travel and no on the other answers?  Then the most important....are you on the ship now and did they accept your documentation?  If anyone would post what the CVS results look like (delete your name and dob) it would be helpful to see what Princess accepts.

    Thanks.

We took the rapid antigen test through CVS Minute Clinic, they took a picture of our insurance card. We didn’t pay anything at the time although it wouldn’t surprise me if they bill our insurance. We were called approx 40 minutes after the test with the result. It was also available on CVS My Chart. A text was also received with a link to a pdf which I printed and showed at check-in.

  5. Today is the first day that those of us boarding the beautiful Majestic Princess on Sunday could get a Covid test, so thought it would be a good idea to start this thread now.

After the panic subsided when we first found out that a negative test was required to board the ship I was able to get appointments for a Rapid Antigen, medically supervised self test with CVS/Minute Clinic just a couple of miles from home.  There was no charge for the test, although I'm sure our insurance will be billed for it. My DH and I both tested negative and received a phone call with the result approximately 40 long minutes after taking it. Now just waiting to receive an email with the result to provide when boarding.

I hope that others on our roll call will post their experiences and answer questions where possible.

My friend had Covid testing booked for 4 pm today , CVS just informed her they have run out of tests , after an hour on hold to Princess she was offered a full refund . She is devastated they were shocked at the indifference of Princess .

I'm sorry this happened to your friend, however, it could have been worse had she taken the test today and driven to Seattle. The earliest you can take the test for the Sunday's sailing of the Majestic Princess is tomorrow, Thursday.

  7. I haven't received an email yet, however, I just checked my May Alaskan cruise and final payment date has changed from Feb 22 to Mar 24. Certainly takes the pressure off of me for now on deciding whether to cancel or pay. I doubt very much it will go ahead but I can certainly keep the hope alive.

  8. My mum has celiac disease and has never had an issue. She does prefer traditional dining and she has also never had a problem when she has joined us for anytime dining.

She is also shown what is gluten free by one of the chefs when eating at the buffet.

  9. We also love getting a team together for Trivia. On the Grand Princess Corona cruise we teamed up with a 4 wonderful CC members from Canada that we met at the M&G. We had a great time and were lucky enough to come out as winners on more than one occasion. We continued with our own trivia sessions once we were confined to cabins and also for a while once we were all back in our own homes. Unfortunately, the time difference for us and getting back to some sort of new normal life has put our trivia sessions on hold.

The cruise overall was wonderful! My husband enjoyed the ukulele lessons given by Brian Vasquez and I enjoyed the Hula lessons from Rowena. We both enjoyed the lectures that Rowena gave and the craft classes.

The sea days just flew by with all the activities and I can't wait to be able to do it again.

We were on the Grand Princess and were quarantined on board in March 2020.  Was wondering whether any passengers have received refunds from Princess for their out of pocket expenses which they promised to reimburse?

We were also on the this cruise and we have received a refund for the rental car used to get from quarantine to home. We received the refund approximately 6-7 weeks from submitting the claim.

I also just checked the roll call from the cruise and there is nothing mentioned there regarding refunds.

  11. Yay....you are finally on the beautiful Majestic Princess.

I can see the roof top of the Holiday Inn Old Sydney (it's now a Rydges Hotel) between the clock tower and water tower.

I too am looking forward to lunch in the dining room. It seems the secret is out here in San Francisco. I have never seen the dining room so busy on embarkation day as what it was when we boarded the Grand Princess for the infamous Hawaii cruise back in February.

  12. Thank you Ellie1145! I've loved reading your posts and I can only hope that one day I will be able to visit the places in my country of birth that you visited. I'm now looking forward to you boarding the beautiful Majestic Princess, here she is arriving in Sydney for the first time. On our last visit home to Perth from the US we tagged on the first cruise out of Sydney to Fiji. It was our first cruise on a royal class ship and we absolutely loved it.
