  1. There's no question that all cruse lines have changed somewhat since the 1990's. Not a lot of people cruised back then and as it got more popular the cruise lines changed their marketing to attract new passengers. Cruising is now mass marketed with many more ships and many more people. Recent cruisers have no way of comparing how it used to be so they just accept what they get now a day's. Cruising on the old Zenith and Horizon can't be compared to today's cruising but then again there are a lot of things that are not the same as they used to be. I think all we can do is enjoy what we are doing today and hold the memories of yester year.

  2. We were on Summit twice last year (Southern / Bermuda) and I must say the buffet was not up to regular Celebrity standards. We were late getting on ship at embarkation and went to the buffet and found only pasta dishes and some pizza. The lunch menu always lacked imagination and the drink stations were always out of ice tea and lemonade and lemons. If we hadn't paid for our food we could of eaten on shore and got a better choice. Thumbs down for the buffet on Summit.

  3. I've been waiting all week to book a cruise to Alaska next year and I already was getting a military discount. I waited til today figuring I might be able to add the OBC on. No such luck Celebrity will only allow one promo per booking. I got a better price break with the military discount that it would be dumb to cancel and re-book, plus I wouldn't get any better pricing.

When you look at it Celebrity is not in business to give stuff away,I'll just stick with the best deal and look forward to a great cruise.

  4. I see they are offering OBC but how does it work? I remember a couple of years ago a similar offer, seems you had to send in all your receipts and they would credit your credit card. I wonder if you can get an advance on your Sea card at the Casino and that they would consider that an on board purchase.

  5. I just got a price for a alaska cruise next August, I got a nice military discount and now I'm wondering if I will lose that deal if I go with one of the 123 offers. It seems that they always cover their backsides by either raising prices before big deals or only allowing one deal per cruise.

  6. A French woman(about 60) from our ship was snorkling and we heard from a lady that tried CPR on her and didn't know if she had a heart attack or drown. She said she manageed to get a lot of water out of her but she didn't think she would make it.They had her wrapped up like a mummy from head to feet as they loaded in the ambulance. Very tough on everyone present,we left and the day got much better.

  7. If this was last week 3/13 we were on the other van with Donalson and also went to Champange reef where the woman died from a heart attack, very sad. We also went to the Gorge but did not try swimming through the water looked very cold and the rocks very slippery. We then dropped off some people at the falls and we went to Screw Spa, you can swim in 5 different pools of different tempeture water, we all enjoyed the day with Donaldson and all the places he took us too.

  8. X2 on the zip top bags, they are great for keeping things clean at the beach, also for bringing food with you and also to make mini coolers with a few ice cubes. I use them to store change in and throw it in my carry on, helps going through the airport scanners. Millions of other uses.
