  1. Let me be the first to thank you for that informing us to be aware of pre-existing conditions prior to cruising. I know my limitations due to being on BP medicine and control my drinking and salt intake (which is sometimes unavoidable for me personally) due to side effects from my meds and the how the heat can have a profound effect on me. With this being said, I visited my Doctor as part of my pre-cruise prep., had lab work done to know what my levels are to help my be more mindful of what was ahead of me. This helped me so much and I did not over indulge on wine & spirits...well the food that's another story :D

In the end I hope that that this person wound up ok. Hopefully this incident will make the crew more mindful on what to do in case of an emergency while the tender is still attached to the ship. Anything can happen anywhere and I hope they respond back to you soon.

  2. That sounds like a crazy amount of money! I usually never buy Cruise pics (I have my family stand on the staircase in the MDR and someone snaps a shot) but this last cruise we got one because it turned out great! I loved it so much that I used it in my Christmas card this year (with the official Carnival release) and got many compliments.

Sorry its so big! Anyway, best $30 I spent on a cruise photo![/QUO

This pic was worth every penny! Such a beautiful family. They need to use your photo as a sample pic fleet wide.

  3. Thanks for writing this review. Brings back memories from my first Carnival cruise.

I'm considering sailing the Ecstasy again next year with my Stepson for his first cruise. The ship is easy to get around and I would not mind visiting Key West Florida and Cozumel for the second time. Pricing for this ship is very affordable and since we will paying for three this fits our wallet so much better to leave room for a decent excursion in Cozumel.

  4. Just wondering about the drawbacks of a 3-4 hour drive? Seems like an ideal location. Lets see for our next cruise, what direction should we head. it's a good thing for me I do not live on Florida. Would spend all my free time and or money cruising.;)

Agreed! I love living in Minnesota, but it would be a dream to live within a day's drive of a cruise port. Some people don't know how good they have it. :)

I agree. Everyone does not live in Florida. I have to fly all the time. Home port is Baltimore. Cruise cost about the same leaving from FL with better ports. There are more lines out there to consider. I'm flipping between CCL and NCL because I like them both. Have not tried RC.

  5. Really enjoyed your review and thanks for sharing :)

I was wondering about the car service you used from the pier back to Valley Stream. I'm originally from Queens and lives blocks away from the Boarder of Queens and Valley Stream :) If I may, can you please tell the cost per passenger? I'm hoping to get a group cruise together for my dad's 80th B'day next year and leaving from NY will be ideal for most of us.

    Thanks.

  6. I'm planning a family cruise for 2016 and need input on the following from people have cruised with family members outside of being the Momma & Papa:)

My two nieces will be sharing a cabin with my sister. Do we need to get a notarized letter from their parents permitting her to sail with them? They both under the age of sixteen. We are doing short 4-day on the Sky to the Bahamas leaving from Miami, FL.. Both of my nieces have U.S. Passports to travel :)

There are quite a few family members that hardly ever travel out of the country. Can these adults travel with a Valid driver's license & an original birth certificate for a this closed loop voyage? I did and will recommend that they all get passports because it is the best way to cruise and the perfect document in case of any emergency.

    Thanks :)
