If you use the baggage company you self disembark early and take your cases yourself to them, they say 9 am but they are usually there earlier. Just go to reception and request the time you want to be off and they will try to oblige, and yes there are plenty of taxis. One tip when you hand over your suitcases to the baggage company write down the date they give you for briniging back your cases, we had a mixup once.

Will be interesting to see if they can fill all the cabins being adult only, hopefully the prices may come down or it is just wishful thinking.

Can you specify that you want to eat outside, if not best to check once onboard that you want a table there.

We also have done RCI just once and P&O 7 times. P&O are still predominately british but more and more different nationalities are trying P&O. We met some lovely people on our RCI cruise and when I spoke about P&O, they said they would give them a try.
Also agree with Dave, enjoyed the entertainment more on RCI but the rockclimbing, wave pools etc are wasted on us. Although did enjoy a game of mini golf up on deck.

I have felt up to now that the excursions provided by P&O to be good value, the ones we have been on have had excellent local guides, which really make the trips memorable.
-
One of the many changes P&O have made this last year. I think you also have to book Select to get the extra on board credit.
-
I do wonder whether those that leave their tips on are subsidising those who take them off. I do think more people will take auto tips off and for the first time in eight years I am considering it.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I have had confirmation from P&O that we arrive at 8 a.m. However, no word as to whether we tender or dock, so a 9.45 train journey (the only time available) might be a bit risky if we have to tender ashore. Am leaning towards booking the trip with P&O (against my better judgement) just to be sure we don't miss out completely.
You will have plenty of time to do the 9.45 train. We did the Fjords last year, although not Flam and we were on time every port. We go again this year and have Flam but the only availability for the train is 7.30.

On our first cruise we were lucky enough to have Commodore Steve Burgoine on Oceana. We had 2 sea days before our first port and being newbies we listened to every announcement and particularly enjoyed his mid-day stories. We also saw him around the ship qiute a few times and he took part in one evenings stage entertainment. On our last cruise last June on Aurora we never saw the Captain once.
His regards to Hughie Taylor, my husband cannot stand him, but you have to laugh at his attempts at jokes, which we were subjected to a couple of times on Ventura when theatre production broke down and he had to stand in for about 15 minutes (twice).
The best cruise director we have had was Joff Eaton on Independence of the Seas. He really did a splendid job.

No, you will be allocated only one, the restaurants will be virtually the same with the same menu. You will find a card in your cabin telling you which restaurant.
-
This is a new cruise for P&O therefore nobody has done it yet. You can get a cruise only price from P&O but only they can tell you how much, if any, you will save. The flights will probably be chartered solely for the cruise.

Can l ask please if the Beach house, is the Restaurant set up in the rear of the Buffet restaurant, in the evenings on the Azura ?.
If so is this the case on all ships ?.
Thanks in advance.
Yes, it usually is a part of the Buffet which turns into the Beach house in the evenings, I only know this for Azura and Ventura.

It was so simple years ago when you got travel insurance with your booking included or as an extra amount without having to give medical details. Insurance for everything, not just holidays, is very complex and I am sure this couple are not the only ones who go on holiday with incorrect insurance.

Firstly you will get a table together on Freedom dining on a table for 4 or share with others. With regard to excursions although bookings are linked you have to make separate bookings for each cabin which I know is very annoying as we have 3 cabins. I would give P&O a call to change the cabin to your daughter. We took a 17 year old on a cruise 2 years ago and they had their own cabin.
-
Does anyone know if you are waitlisted for an excursion, do you still pay on booking? Thanks.

I have had a look as well as we are on Azura on June. The only availability is 7.30 or 4.05, which obviously is no good. I suppose the cruises have pre-booked the most popular times.
-
No the dress code is relaxed on the first night and if you are questioned you only have to explain that your cases have not arrived and then if not acceptable yes, the alternative is to eat in the buffet.
-
Yes, they haven't stopped you bringing soft drinks onboard (YET).
-
Around 12 weeks before cruise they will appear on your cruise personaliser. You will also see on there who is in the Limelight club and how to book. Just keep checking your cruise personaliser.
-
Yes, virtually 24 hours but as Azura is bigger than Aurora and Oriana, the buffet will have 2 areas of entrance to the buffet and one will be open while they stock up the other side.
-
Dont know about the cabin, but B deck is a good deck to be on. Door at back of deck direct to pool.
-
Yes you can go to the buffet and maybe the Glass House, it wasn't busy on our cruise last June. Sindhu restaurant will be formal but it is only small on Aurora so unless you book before you may not get a table. You will be alright going to the theatre. Have a great cruise, we loved Aurora.
-
Yes, you do get discount if booked on cruise personaliser. You only get it onboard after all your OBC has been used.

It is lovely when the bride, groom and all their party enter the main dining room. Everyone stands up, claps and cheers. Don't know if that happens in Epicurean. If the wedding day itself is somewhere hot, the Epicurean has a lovely outside area to the back of the ship.

They serve cod or salmon in a curry so I am sure they would cook it for you without the sauce, Sindhu dishes are different to a normal curry and also some dishes are dry but spicy. You may be offered special lunchtime deals in sea days. PS they serve very good curries in the main restaurants lunchtime.
