  1. Yes. Request in advance thru Special Needs department. Also request an extension cord. Don't bring your own. Please get a proper heavy duty extension cord from the ship's engineering dept. There is no charge for these, and they should be in your cabin on arrival.

  2. The $20/hr was $17/hr in April 2015. The $17/hr had a two hour minimum. The price was per room for up to three kids, as I recall. My DS and DIL and kids are from NYC, so they thought that price was reasonable and worth every penny. [emoji106]

  3. Hadn't thought of that, but a Steve Urkel is right on. [emoji45] you are also right about Maya being 180 degrees from A'kai. I'm wondering why they gave him a spot on the show, considering there must have been many more deserving teens who are yelling at the tv now. [emoji15]

  4. I agree quality of life is key! I'm an RN, and I'm used to traveling with kids with trachs, vents and they're often on oxygen. It gave me some advantage when my husband needed oxygen and dialysis, among other medical issues. Traveling, especially with complex medical needs, involves planning, but all trips involve planning. I'm glad you're asking questions now. Stick with this. It may well be the trip of a lifetime that everyone will remember. Please feel free to ask as many questions as you need to. Your respiratory therapist may have some answers, too, but this board is a great place to start. I wish you both well, and many years of wonderful cruises.

  5. It is possible to travel with only the rolling concentrator, but frankly that scares me because you won't have a backup plan if it doesn't work well. I would strongly suggest renting a floor concentrator for your cabin. He can use that at night and use the rolling concentrator on batteries when out of the cabin.

  6. Yes, it's doable!!! DH has been on oxygen for 3 years (among other issues like hemodialysis), and we've continued to fly and cruise. [emoji106]What is his liter flow? The rolling portable concentrators have specific limits, and they vary. You will need to rent the rolling concentrator and backup batteries. Your airline website will have a section about oxygen, so be sure what you rent is accepted. You'll need a letter from doctor to get the O2 concentrator through airport security. As other posters have said, you should arrange for an oxygen floor concentrator to be delivered to your cruise stateroom. Your home medical supply place can fax the Rx to a company where you embark. Expect to pay for rental for the rolling concentrator and floor concentrator. You can do this!

  7. I agree with judges for final four. I think Laurence has to get away from black and shoulder pads, introduce some color. Erin has an eye for crafty details, but I'm not so sure she's project runway winner material, pun intended. Ric's clothes seem very same ol' same ol' . Roberi can be hot or cold: he had me on pins and needles, another pun, wondering if he'd pull off the macrame dress. It looked like something that should be pulled on over a dress, not worn alone. I did love the mostly good vibe. I'm tired of previous seasons' drama.

  8. I agree with you. My recommendation would definitely be to go to Pompeii, because it's an experience like no other. Then the Vatican, then Capri, if I had to rank just those three.

  9. Capri, the Vatican and Pompeii are so totally different that it makes comparisons difficult. Capri was beautiful with white buildings, high end shops, hills, gorgeous views of water. The Vatican is just that: The Vatican. This Methodist lady was very moved. Yes, there were people all around the Vatican, but there is a sense of awe, inspiration, holiness, history. Pompeii was green grass, some mud, ruts from chariots in what were roads, remains of buildings, a sense of oh my God, people were so quickly buried here under volcanic ash. The displays behind glass of people found in the ash were so moving. You sense the immediacy of that moment that buried a whole city. I'm grateful we've had the opportunity to explore each area. I think when you have to chose, it's just what appeals to you at that time.
