  1. I think they should bring back the "good ole days" and have you wear your life vest to the drill ;p

All kidding aside, I don't have a problem with the muster drill, it's just part of cruising. Also, never have seen anyone pass out, although have seen people with too much alcohol in their systems act like idiots at muster.

  2. That's good to hear. I always figured #1 would be in a pretty loud, crowded area (and I suspect the "crowded" part is still true).

It IS the only cabana that is wheelchair-accessible, unless they've changed things.

Yes, it is the accessible cabana. On embarkation day, we were the last to choose our cabana and that was the one that was remaining. The only thing about #1 is the path behind the cabanas leads right into the cabana (therefor accessible). We had to take one of the loungers off the beach and place it on the path to stop people from coming into our cabana. Besides that slight inconvenience, we loved having the cabana.

We have booked a cabana for our upcoming cruise, and should be able to get a better pick (of course away from the Pirate Ship Bar!!), hoping for down the beach a bit (#9 or 10).

  3. Thanks to all for your responses. Seems the Seafood Shack may be the only difference and just another way to get a buck. I guess I'll see how the music and bar scene affects my experience once there, weather permitting.

    Again, thanks everyone!

There is plenty of beach that you can get far enough away from the Pirate Ship Bar and not have to hear the blasting music. We were in Cabana 1 a few years back, and we could hear the music but it definitely was not loud where we were. :D

  4. We always use the in-room safe on our cruises, we keep our passports, cash, phones, etc. I don't bring any good jewelry, even leave my wedding rings at home and just wear costume jewelry.

On one of our cruises, my daughter put her candy in the safe and then couldn't get the safe opened (imagine the horror!). To get the safe open, we had to have two employees come to our cabin, although I don't remember who they were.

  5. I tried to search for the answer and came up with many Fun Shops threads but none that answered my question. My husband and I are going on a cruise with my sister and her husband later this month. Their anniversary was this past week and this cruise will be their first vacation together (they have been married two years). I thought it would be a nice surprise to order the anniversary decorations with the cake to be in their cabin but I cannot see a way to do this on the site. Do I just need to call the Fun Shops and supply them with her booking number or cabin number? Has anyone had success with actually getting the decorations delivered and put up in a timely manner? I did see some posts complaining that items do not always get delivered. TIA!

Hello. If you go to Carnival's website, you see the three menus "Explore, Plan, Manage". If you hover over Manage, then click on In-Room Gifts, that is were you can find the anniversary decorations.

  6. We were on a Halloween cruise a few years back (Carnival Liberty). They had an adult costume contest, and also a time where everyone in costume was parading back and forth on the Promenade deck.

For the kiddos...they had a Halloween scavenger hunt, and trick or treating.

We all wore our costumes to dinner! It was a hoot!

  7. Also, what time do we normally have to be back on the boat at the stops? Specifically Cozumel. I was thinking about trying to make a dinner reservation somewhere nice in Cozumel. The departure time says 10pm. What time would we have to be back on the boat?

While you are on the ship, you will hear them refer to "ship time", be sure to have a watch (you phone will most likely automatically go to local time). If the departure is 10pm, I would definitely plan to be back by 9:00pm (that gives you an extra hour if somehow you got held up). As the previous post stated, the ship will leave without you and you sure don't want that!!!

Regarding the shows, we always do the 6pm dinner and catch the show that starts around 8:00-ish. If you do a Google search for "Carnival Fun Times", and look at the images, you can see schedules from previous cruises. (Fun Times is the daily newsletter that Carnival slips under your stateroom door every evening with the next days happenings)
