  8. Thanks Barb! I'll be adding our final thoughts and ramblings over the next few days. 😎
  9. I agree, but that's really because there is only the one dining room.
  10. It's funny, we had one of the very best in Blessing for the first leg, and one of the worst in Edy the second leg. Wish we had Blessing the whole time!
  11. Day # 22 - 10/14/23 - Debarkation Day and Back Home! I woke up at 4am. Though it was pitch black in the room, I peeked behind the drapes and saw that we had already sailed under the Verrazano Bridge and were approaching the Statue of Liberty. I grabbed the camera and took a few shots as we sailed by…… I crawled back into bed and slept until the alarm went off at 6am. I went up to the Java Blue Café, but the line was so long that I just went to the coffee machine over by Tomodoro instead. I went back to the cabin where we packed up our bags that we would be carrying off the ship. Here are the general debarkation instructions we received yesterday….. Here is the letter we received telling us that there was no priority debarkation, other than the fact that we got the lowest number tags for the checked luggage……. Since there aren’t any designated areas for us to wait in, we’ll wait in our cabin for the # 1 tag numbers to be called. Our son Ryan called us and said he was on his way into the city, and that he would park nearby and wait for us to call before proceeding to the terminal. At 7am Cruise Director Joey began calling muster stations for self-assist debarking. It wasn’t until 8:15am that he began to call tag numbers, starting with #’s 1 to 3. We left the cabin, not even looking for, or saying goodbye to Edy. We can’t even remember ever doing that before. We took the stairs down to Deck 3, avoiding the idiots who were sitting on the stairs blocking the way. When Joey saw us coming down, he led a group of us down to Deck 2 to another gangway. Thanks Joey! Once off the ship, it took about ten minutes in a line to reach the baggage claim area. We found our luggage rather easily, but getting a porter took a little doing. Once we got one, he loaded us up, and we followed him to the facial recognition line where we breezed through. At this point, I called Ryan and told him to come pick us up. The porter led us to a huge elevator that would take us up one floor to the pick-up area. The porter waited with us for five minutes until Ryan pulled up with the car and then even loaded the bags into the car for us. What a great guy, and you can bet we tipped him well! Five minutes later we were heading into the Lincoln tunnel…… Once out of the tunnel we got our last view of the Carnival Venezia……for now! Forty-five minutes later, we were pulling into our driveway, another two great cruises completed! THE END!
  12. Later, we watched the final sunset of our cruise….. We decided that our final meal of this cruise was going to be at Bonsai Sushi. We ate there a total of five times during our twenty-one days on the Venezia. Once again we had a great meal there. I’m not going to post any pictures this time, as you have seen them four times already! Lol. After dinner we went across the way to have drinks with Zora one more time at the Amari Bar. I don’t remember posting the drink menu before, so here it is……. Zora makes us our last drinks of the cruise….. We say our goodbyes, and make our way back to the cabin for the final time, and to put out our luggage…… That is usually a sad sight, but after twenty-one days we are ready to go home and see Ryan and the cats! To be continued…..
  13. Patti made her way back to the Teatro Rosso in time to catch the Q&A Session with Cruise Director Joey, and Entertainment Director Gordon…… Then it was time for the $5,000 Jackpot Bingo session, hosted by Al….. In the meantime, I finished playing blackjack for the cruise up a few hundred dollars. I cashed out, and then went to La Strada for some lunch. I carried my plate over to the Frizzante Bar where Andrea was bartending, and had a couple of Aperol Spritzes with my lunch. Afterwards, I made my way back to the cabin. Patti did not have any luck at bingo, so she headed to the Casino Annex to play some video poker. She wasn’t there long. As soon as she was up $50, she cashed out and headed back to the cabin. Here is Edy’s final towel creation. Even the standard last day heart was sloppy….. We took turns finishing our packing, and hanging out on our balcony on a beautiful afternoon….. To be continued…..
  14. Patti heads up to the Lido where she bumps into the K-9 Team….. DJ Six is spinning the tunes at the mid ship pool….. It's time for the Ice Carving Demonstration. DJ Six interviews today’s Ice Carver….. He gets to work….. Here’s the finished product. Impressive! To be continued……
  15. Today’s show is being hosted by Cruise Director Joey, and Fun Squad members Sarah (in the middle), and Dara. Today is Sarah’s last day of her contract and she’ll be heading home tomorrow.….. They are joined on stage by Maverick, who is the Effy Ambassador on board….. That’s a wrap folks! Afterwards, I went to the Lobby Bar for a couple of Bloody Marys with Valentina. I then went to the non-smoking Casino Annex to play blackjack for the last time this cruise. The next item on the agenda for Patti is the $5,000 Jackpot Bingo, but she has some time to kill. Patti walks by the Gondola Lounge where she sees Tom & Jo, the dance instructors, teaching the Rumchata….. To be continued……
  16. Day # 21 - 10/13/23 - Farewell Fun Day at Sea # 9. We were up a little before 7am for our final day aboard the Carnival Venezia. It is a partly cloudy, 72 degree day, and it’s a bit breezy. The seas are fairly calm….. Last night it was a different story. It rained all night, and it was very windy. That made for a pretty bumpy ride. Fortunately, we sailed out of it before dawn. Here are the current views from our balcony….. Here are the final Fun Times of the cruise….. The Map Channel is showing us where we’ve been, and where we are heading to tomorrow….. I went up to Java Blue Café for my morning coffee. Today it is free since I’ve filled up my punch coffee card. I spent some time talking to Rich, Kathy, and Gail. I made my way back to the cabin to work on some pictures. Patti was packing up some more of her things. Patti and I made our way to the Teatro Rosso for “The Wave” Morning Show. We ran into our friends Charlie and Janice there….. To be continued…..
