Here in the Phoenix is the town of Gilbert. They rolled out a big project about 3 or four years ago to build a Welcome Home park with a permanent 3/4 scale wall. Lots of hoopla and fund raising but I guess they just pulled the plug on everything at the end of 2019.
Saw this one and could not resist posting
I was TDY in the 80's to Palmerola (Soto Cano) AFB in Honduras.. Air Force types wanted a pool. Funding said no way. The fire department requested an auxiliary water holding facility and they got it. It was painted blue with a ladder but we never made the mistake of calling it a swimming pool.

Retired now and have a little "play" money so I thought I'd take some chances. Bought NCL at 7.9. It's at 17.07. Bought RCI at 35.72. It's at 53.10. Bought CCL in april and got greedy, so I sold half for a nice profit. Should have held on, so bought more last week at 13.82, it's at 17.10 today. Bought Allegiant Air at $94.95 and it's at 109.56 this morning. I'd been watching it since it was 60.6. Shoulda coulda woulda bought then. Who would have thought travel stocks would be up at this time? Oh well, continuing to watch closely for bargains. I know it's a gamble, but I think the odds are better than all the times I pulled the handle on the casino slot machines.

Woops, kind of got away from this thread with my last post, sorry. My favorite cruise was our first one. My DW was afraid to cruise in the open ocean. Probably relates to the time we got caught in the tail end of a hurricane while sailing on our catamaran. I was about 45 minutes from Port Canaveral and always wanted to cruise. I saw a special on a 3 day sailing to Nassau and return to PC. A great price and I told her about it, but she still refused to go. I put on my man pants and said OK, I'm going and I'm taking our 16 YO GD. DW finally relented and said she would go. The ship was the Monarch of the Seas and it was the last sailing as RCI had sold the ship. We didn't know it till we were on board. We had the best time and DW stated any time someone puts a napkin in her lap, cooks dinner and brings it to her, she is all in. I guess the only mistake? was being picked for the Love and Marriage game. Our 16 YO GD said she would never look at us the same. Jeeze, they kept playing the show on the TV over and over. But, we all say when we talk about our cruises, that this was the best one.

My dad was in the 106th but got sent to college, but when they scrapped the college program he was reassigned to the 25th. The 106th was surrendered at the bulge, the biggest US surrender since Bataan in the Philippines. Was Kurt Vonnegut's outfit, he got to live through the firebombing of Dresden, write about it later.
I was in Dresden in Feb. I didn't know it was the British that caused the fires from the air raid. The next day the US bombed them also, but the majority of the damage was from the day before. Seems like the US got all the blame. It's amazing to see the before and after pictures they had on display there. It's a beautiful city now.

The Army liked to send the new new guy to the arms room to be measured for a riffle. Or to supply for to get a fatigue tie.

The paratroops would send you to supply to get canopy lights.

From my understanding, unless you have more than $25,000 in your trading account, you're limited as to how often you can do that...
You can do 3 in a five day period.

Your right. Dumped half of what I had. Wait and see. Still better that what I do on the slots onboard the ship.

Hummm, seems to be a lot of swabbies out there. No paratroopers? US Army, 82d Airborne, 1965-1990 and a year stint with the 101st Airborne in Viet Nam.

I'm not 70 yet, but my Dr is an avid cruiser, so I actually get my cruises prescribed
Being that it is prescribed by a doctor, will Medicare cover that?

Hello NinjaCATS, I have been cruising since the 1970's. I have seen the ups and downs about
cruising. I am like you that knows for a fact that many future cruises are being booked up.
I always book for December month. Last month I noticed that my favorite Balconies were
available and I didn't want to miss out of booking my favorite cabin. I decided to put a deposit
on two cruises for Dec. As soon as we are free to cruise again I plan to book two more cruises.
I chose to buy Carnival Stock because I am a big time cruiser. Some Cruisers love NCL or RCCL.
We CRUISERS have inside information that non-cruisers who just want to buy cruise stock don't know about the extra things we get as stockholders cruisers.
We cruisers are the ones that are going to keep our favorite ships floating.
It does help to have the millionaires and Billionaires also buying Carnival Stock.
Some of them are planning to become Trillionaires with their new investments
in all kinds of stock. Now is the time for gamblers to jump in and invest in stock.
Thanks for splaining it to us Lucy. I too have stock in all 3, NCL, CCL and RCI. Although it can make you a little nervous, it is the market and a gamble. I plan on keeping them and weathering it out. Good luck to you too.

They were, but my future cruise credit was only good for 24 hours, so I went.

Hello n6uggg, We cruisers have found loop holes in how to use our OBC credit. It is our secret but now it looks very public since you brought it up. We are told to not use obc for the Casino but sometimes there is nothing I want to buy on the ships so I use my obc at the Casino and cash out any money left over. Lets keep quiet about how we all use our OBC/onboardcredit.
Lets change the subject.
I hope some of you who have not bought CCL stock are going to buy some. Now is the time to buy if you want a great deal. I have been told for many years by many CCL stockholders to buy stock. I bought stock on April 7th and every morning I look forward to seeing it going up. Brings me joy since I love cruising on the Royal Princess ship. I am just waiting for the GOV. to give us Americans permission to cruise again. I have already booked two cruises for December. I plan to book two more this year of 2020 if possible. HAPPY DAYS OF CRUISING WILL BE HERE SOON. YEA! LUCYR.
Lucy, I have all three major cruise line stocks. All are doing very well. Look at NCLH. I bought at 7.9 two weeks ago and its 13.55 today. Up 71.52% Just saying.

Right, it is a gamble. If Carnival does not sail by June they will have to file Chapter 11. Carnival is a wealthy company but their wealth is in their ships. If they cannot sail with paying passengers, how much are these ships worth?
I agree with all of you that it's a gamble. I started with NCl and it went up over a $1000. This got me excited so I bought RCI. It went down over $1100. Yesterday I bought CCL @ $10.66. This morning so far it's $11.99 before the market opens. It's fun to play, but just don't look at it every day like I do.

Unless you have facts to support your side.....do you?
Jeeze,I was going to get on here and talk about how cheap CCL stock is now and how it's going up after the Saudi's got in on it. But, I think I''ll get out of here, it's getting a little intense.

If your hotel is in FLL, use SAS or a similar service to MIA pier.
Just for info purposes, we used S&S trans and they were great. But, our flight came in after 3 PM and the charge went to $75. This was about two years ago, so I don't know if the policy has changed. Check on their website.

Not sure when and not sure If all lines are the same but I think in the last couple years. Saves on a lot of recalled commission of client cancels but still in a penalty phase.
I was charged $100 for a cancellation fee by my TA. I called them and they sent out an email with a $100 credit on my next trip with them. That's good enough for me. Give them a call and see if that works for you.

You just don't know. Down yesterday and up to 12.17 this AM. Up $84.20 after the Saudi's kicked in a couple of bucks.
