That's true... I must have been thinking CCL and RCL.

I've read a year mentioned for Carnival based on their latest round of funding. NCL drew around 1.5B from their credit line with JP Morgan Chase a couple weeks ago and I imagine that will last them anywhere from 3-6 months. I think they'll likely do a bond offering like Carnival, or get another credit line from a bank like Royal, and I think that's already expected and priced in where the stock is today.

CCL is at $8.49 this AM and is expected to go to $8 when the market opens. Think I'll roll the dice and go for it.

I actually was trying to be tongue in cheek, too. I thought you had a typo leaving out a decimal (10.2) since the other stock quoted was 15% or something. Should have checked the prices myself, I guess.  Sorry I didn't get the joke.

    Hey, no problem.

Sounds like you are out of luck. I'm not a fan of calling the credit card company just because the vendor is sticking to their terms and conditions. If our carrier doesn't extend the coverage to our October trip we're out $120 and likely will not be able to purchase a policy now with a pre-existing condition waiver unless we pay extra.

In all my previous trips, cruises I never got insurance as I was only about an hour from PC. This was an overseas expensive trip so I opted for insurance. As they say “how did that work out for you”?

Right. Got on this board and reading about cars. Hummm  just saying  Just bought 50 shares and will watch it go up. Bought ncl last week and it’s almost doubled.

Wrong on NCl. Last night it did not double. It was up 102%. RCl up 15.94%.

  5. You guys are lucky. My trip to London was cancelled and I tried to extend my coverage with AIG for my trip. Agent stated that I was not covered for any cancellations, delays or interruptions.  And they would only extend the coverage for the next trip if the trip was prior to 30 April. My trip was for 2 May, two days past the limit. Any ideas out there? Would a call to my credit card company work? Or am I out $238?

Call your insurance company and ask.  That's the only way to know for sure.

You are correct. Was sailing this Friday, 13 March but cxl’d today. Called insurance company today and they said can only get refund if cancelled within 14 days. I booked in dec 2019. I explained that we were rebooking with a future cruise unknown date. They then said because of the circumstances they would put my policy on hold till I booked my next trip. You never know till you talk to them.  Won’t mention company name but it starts with an N and they sure were on my side.

I already stated most trip insurances DO NOT cover this situation, including "cancel for no reason" insurance. Most have a clause excluding epidemics and pandemics.

I'm scheduled to sail this friday.  I think I'll call tuesday and get a FCC. Feel lucky that I fall within the dates. I called my insurance company and told them to cancel my policy for the trip. They said to bad, you must cancel within two weeks of signing up for the policy. It cost $126.50.  So I guess I'm out that. Wait, do you think I can file for trip interruption? They told me to call the home office monday and see if they will do anything for me so I still might have a chance.

Cruising out of Port Canaveral in 36 days with 3 family member retirees, all in good health.

No plans to adjust anything, and can't really see a scenario where I would choose to not to go.

A lot can happen in 5 weeks, so we shall see, but right now I'm still very excited!

Agree. We are leaving on March 13 for a short Sun cruise. Not really worried, but will take extra care in cleaning hands etc.

Current events (virus) might be driving this more than usual as well.  Noticed my sailing at 79 days out went down substantially this week.

Just read something about how some cruise lines (but not NCL) are making exceptions to their cancelation/refund policy due to this.

Same. Never booking early again. From now on I'm booking the time off work and buying my cruise fare at the last minute. If my sailing isn't available, then I'll suck it up and go to another line or ship that week.

Agree 100%. We leave on the 13 of Mar on the Sun for a 5 day cruise. The price dropped $545. I saw the price drop on wed so I called my TA on thurs. They looked up the price but saw all the balcony cabins and above were sold out. Apparently after the price drop, everyone jumped on board. I asked for some OBC, but since they couldn't confirm the price drop they said, can't do. I'm not complaining, but this made me rethink as to when I'll book a cruise. I had been getting deals, some a year out. I think I'll go with Mark's method and wait till the last minute. I think of all the past cruises where the prices went up after I had booked and that makes me feel a little better.

You also have the ability to go to the casino and download the OBC to a machine and cash out (minus the 3% fee)......... quick and easy.

I wish i'd found out about this method of "cashing out" years ago. I found myself going to the gift shops and buying t-shirts and other things I really didn't need. Now, I'm right with you. I usually get about $250 of non refundable OBC and go right to the casino, charge to room, then cash out the ticket. OK, yea, I pay about 6 bucks or so, but i like that cash in hand. I like to call it "free" money, but I really know better.
