  1. I paid final payment 12 June (due 23 June) and had £0.00 balance due, now it shows I owe £56.10 ? Same amount as a purchase I have made, what happens now as it appears I haven't paid for my cruise in full.

What a shambles RCCL website is, why should I have to pay to phone them and sort their error, they haven't contacted me !!!

  2. I've just done a mock booking for the August 20th Independence cruise on the UK website

Final payment date would be June 24th

Our cruise is 19 August and final payment date is 23 June. This ties up with the 57 day cancellation period. This is booked direct with RCL.

  3. Hi Dan

You shoukd dock at the new terminal which opened in 2015, not sure of the name though.

You can choose either a shuttle bus to the dock gates and have a stroll along the long beach promenade with the usual shops, beach stuff, bars etc or the shuttle to the city centre which takes about 30 mins, nice centre with lots of shops, nice buildings and overall pleasant place to wonder around for a few hours.

Not sure about excursions, we have been twice and did the above each once.

    Enjoy

    Dave.

  4. Hi sailing on Brittania repositioning in March 2017, is there a coffee card I can purchase on board? If so what is the cost?

    Thanks

From memory it was £22 for 10 in August, but they are the 12oz size !!!!

  5. UK Price - Oasis B/Walk Balcony 22nd April 2018 £2,164 £50 deposit, but charged full deposit if you cancel.

    US Price - Oasis B/Walk Balcony 22nd April 2018 $2,184.82 with $100 OBC.

$500 deposit , but fully refundable up to final payment.

    I know who i'd rather book with:D

Especially when $2184 = £1733. Even at the current rubbish exchange rate of $1.26 = £1

So UK buyer is over £450 worse off plus the $100 OBC. I think RC are taking advantage of UK cruisers !!!!!

  6. RC have increased UK prices on next summer cruises by more than 10% this is likely to be due to lower exchange rate.

What i find hard to take is that when other factors change significantly such as oil price dropping from over $140 to approx $25 there was NO decrease in prices to reflect this massive saving, I don't expect all the savings to be passed on as this us a profit making company but cruisers from the UK really do think RC are starting to take advantage of us.

I would love to book a cruise for next August but the prices are absolutely crazy, stick together fellow cruisers, don't book at these prices.

  7. With regards to the size, it depends where you get them. If you get drink from pool bar they come in plastic glasses and a good size (also go for the no ice option that gives you more drink as they still fill them up), whereas in restaurants the glasses are a smaller size (again go no ice).

    Cheers

  8. Hi ladies and gents. As some of you will know we are sailing on Ventura in April/May. I have been seeing on some groups that people are saying that the ship is looking a bit run down.

Has anyone been on it recently? If so did you find it run down or are people just being picky? Thank you x

We were on Ventura last month and I can honestly say the cabin and public areas I saw were in very good shape. Due to previous posts I found myself even looking for faults and all I could see was a very small patch of worn carpet on the stairs leading to the buffet deck (so not surprising !!!!!).

Don't panic, it is fine and staff were cleaning/polishing all over the place.

  9. We were on that cruise and to be honest I didn't feel unsafe at all as the captain reassured us that all was as it should be. I have only cruised 5 times and that was the worst weather we have had. I wouldn't let it put you off cruising. We had a fantastic time and met some lovely people. My husband is a wheelchair user and we didn't find the lifts too bad, although we were at the front of the ship and it was usually only 1 that was out of order and to be fair there was an engineer trying to fix them on many occasions. I think it must just be Ventura that is unlucky for me as the last time I was on her we broke down just before going into the Bay of Biscay. lol Wonder what is on the agenda for next years cruise. x

If you could let us all know which cruise you book ................... so we can avoid it !!!!!!

  10. I have sailed on Ovation if the seas (same design as Anthem) and Ventura.

As this is your second cruise I hope you haven't been spoilt by Anthem which in my opinion is a step up ship wise from Ventura, there are not so many things to do on Ventura so if you have kids they could be disappointed.

However, other aspects on Ventura are similar to Anthem such as crew, food, entertainment possibly slightly down in Anthems shows but ok.

As I say if you try not to compare to much I am sure you will have a nice time. We have booked Ventura again for August so I am not saying it is bad or anything but in my opinion the Royal Caribbean Anthem/Ovation class of ships are Very good.

    Enjoy.

    Dave
