  1. Theosnana,

Don't panic, we were on Ventura last summer in B506, and as people have said before they are absolutely fine. Not the biggest balcony but adequate, you can look down on C deck balconies as they are bigger but no issues at all.

Enjoy your cruise. We booked a saver cruise for August on Ventura and were allocated a deck C this year so happy days.

    Dave.

  2. Hi, last month when we boarded there were two small bottles in fridge (free) and a pack of 6 1.5L bottles packed together in plastic wrap which you could purchase as mentioned above, leave under the table unused or ask steward to take away if you wanted.

Further bottles available from steward for a reasonable fee.

  3. We stopped at Lisbon last month and no need for shuttle, it really depends which area you dock, either under the bridge where you need a shuttle or the newer terminal nearer town centre where it us a 10 min walk to main area near castle.

As for Malaga this us definitely walkable unless you gave mobility problems, about 15 min walk around the marina to town centre.

  4. Serenade is about 25,000t smaller than Azura.

IOTS has better shopping/atrium area but most other things such as cabins/food/service are very similar.

More activities on IOTS as well.

If I had to choose and all things similar such as itinery and price I would probably pick IOTS but whether you could get RC to be a similar price as P&O is a different matter.

    Enjoy whichever you choose.

    Dave.

  5. First P&O cruise (7 nights) end July.

Food very similar to RC & Princess, MDR very good and efficient we couldn't complain. Dishes change each day but about 5 starters/mains stay on the menu all week.

Entertainment also very good, own stage shows were very good and in my opinion better than last years Indie cruise with RC. Outside acts also very good, each show about 45 mins long.

Comedian was Mark Walker and he did 2 nights with different material.

Musicians were 'The Octaves' again did two nights during the week with different shows. I think they may now be on Azura wherever that is !!!

    Check them out on YouTube.

There were also other acts in the smaller bars etc.

All in all very pleased with entertainment, much better vocalists than RC.

If the above is normal standard you can't go wrong, we went to every main shows and all worth a visit.

    Enjoy your cruise

  6. P&O don't seem to change prices that much to be honest.

Nothing like as much as Royal Caribbean whose prices change virtually hourly with a number of confusing and mind numbing alleged offers running at the same time, amazing if anyone can follow their prices !!!!!!

  7. Poor visibility this time rather than the usual wind! The captain said that to take Ventura into the harbour area and operate the tenders would have been outside the safety paramaters for such a big ship in confined waters with other vessels manoeuvring.

I hope that you will have much better luck in August!

Big Stevie, you guys look super smart, good effort, on our recent cruise I was surprised how many people made the effort on formal night, I reckon 80/85% men in suits or DJ's and a bit less on the second one.

I was also on Kaths cruise and to be fair the visibility at about 08.00 hrs was only about 200m, plus the forecast was for rougher seas in the afternoon. It was a shame to miss out and could have been made much better if we had got to Lisbon a day earlier but instead we went across bay of biscay at walking pace !!!!! I know logistics probably prevented early arrival at Lisbon

Hope weather is better end August, not sure why they persist with Guernsey as it seems at least 50% of the time it is cancelled. Oh yeah it does help P&O make the cruise tax free for them as Guernsey not in EU !!!!!!

  8. Hello, first P&O cruise next Sunday and I was wondering where to get a bit of lunch. I assume the Waterside buffet is the main eatery that will be serving but can anyone tell me if the burger/pizza bars are likely to be open ?

Is there anywhere else to consider as I guess the buffet is likely to be a bit of a bun fight. Also are there any soft drinks in the buffet available free as on Royal Caribbean ?

    Many thanks

    Dave

  9. Hello, we have not sailed with P&O before and I was wondering do you just take sail card off the ship when in port (as per RCI) or is passport required to get back on ? It will be a European cruise if that makes any difference.

    Many thanks

  10. If you look to the far horizon it may help, don't sit in restaurant and look at see through the window near to the ship. Or low deck and middle of ship with no windows.

Plus take tablets BEFORE you feel unwell, don't wait until you are, prevention is better than cure. Check the forecast for the next day and take tablets each day if necessary.

    Dave.

  11. It has been several years since my last cruise with RCCL. In the past I could go to my cruises and see a break down of my invoice (or at least my balance due) I have searched their website and can not find it anywhere. I made my reservation on line with RCCL. Any help would be appreciated.

Try the make a payment tab, towards th top of your my cruises page.

  12. Hi all,

We booked our first cruise today since our last cruise in 2010! We've had 2 kids since then so our party size is now 4 instead of 2!

Anyway we've jumped to book a Family Ocean View Stateroom on July 2nd 2016 cruise on IOS when it became available. We've been monitoring prices since they came out a few weeks ago but this cabin type wasn't available until now. Cabin number is 7500.

My question is - does anyone have any good tips on how we can monitor the price of this room type (with credits for price falls in mind) when it isn't normally available to buy online? Now that we've snapped up cabin 7500, that room type isn't available online again. I understand you normally have to ring up to get that room type?

    Thanks

    Jon

    Jon

You can monitor the price but if you live in the UK RC will not give you OBC for any price drop, the only way would be to cancel and rebook but you would lose your deposits doing this do would need a very large unlikely drop in price.

    Fingers crossed ehhh.

    Dave

  13. If you like to see the ports when you dock. make sure you book starboard side not PORT side. I prefer deck six aft. normally 6350 to 6374 somewhere in there but "for me, that's on the proper side of the ship" as I like to see us come into port

Why choose starboard ?, we did med cruise last year and port side was facing port on 7/8 ports, only Gibraltar facing to sea.

  14. Have you been there in may before ?

Yes, been to canaries 3 times in May in the last 6 years and to be honest you can get the odd day in high 20's but it is an odd location where temperature doesn't vary much all year but is often cloudy in May.

Sure this year will be different though in mid 30's just for your trip :):)
